“Terrific paved and unpaved trails of varying lengths were fun to hike. Saw 5 deer at different places in a 2 mile walk . The swimming beach is fairly large and is within yards of shaded picnic benches (mostly with covers) amongst trees. Bathrooms are convenient to the beach area. At about a half hour north east of Denton, this is well worth the drive.”

Not only do the trails in Heritage Park cover the whole park but there are animal statues at different parts of the trail with placards of information at each statue about said animals.”

“Bluebonnet trail at Heritage Park in Flower Mound is a must to traverse while visiting the park by yourself, with friends or family. On our third visit to Heritage Park we had the experience of walking a majority of Bluebonnet Trail. The family loved connecting back with nature and enjoyed looking at the statues of various animals along the trail, as well as the wildflower areas. Two pluses were a bench that overlooked a river and a public restroom is located at the end of Bluebonnet Trail near the Performance Pavillion.”

Hickory Creek Park

Address: 1201 Point Vista Rd, Hickory Creek, TX 75065, USA

Park

“We lived at Hickory Creek Park in a Motorhome for 13 nights in Dec of 2021! :) •Pros: Super spacious site (21) -- we felt like we had a part of the lake all to ourselves. This park is super close to DFW airport, so of course, there is air noise, but other than that it was pretty quiet! •Cons: The shore was super dirty! Some of our family came out one day and we decided to glove up & ended up filling three trash bags! •Highlights: We loved the beautiful sunrise and sunset views. One of our beach chairs stayed on the shore our entire stay. Nice spot for those who need to fly -- DFW airport is 20-30 min away! •Furbabies Review: Cookies (our dog) loved morning naps on the shore. •Our recommendations: Please introduce recycling to your facility! The Earth will thank you. Thank y'all for having us! We're off Livin' the Dream with Cookies & Cream. :)”

“The Pavillion at Heritage Park in Flower Mound is quite a large pavillion when compared to ones at other parks. The plus to this pavillion is there is a public restroom, a playground (Fort Wildflower) and a splash pad (Heritage Springs) all with in a short walking distance.”

Green Acres Farm Memorial Park

Address: 4400 Hide-A-Way Ln, Flower Mound, TX 75022, USA

Park

“Nice park hidden away in the town of Flower Mound. Never knew it existed until a couple of days ago. Great place to just go and just clear the head and calm the noise. Great place for a couple of Instagram worth shots with the butterfly garden, the water sheds and the trees. Walk around the edge and just little to the breeze and leaves rattling in the wind as your eyes take in all the changing colors around. It was very calming. Just one note of advise ...watch your step. My wife was trying to get a shot of the garden and didn't notice a fire ant mound until she stepped in it. She was pretty quick to notice and only got a couple of bits but they hurt.”

Daron and Tim are very conscientious and attentive to the needs of their guests and the care of the grounds, amenities, and facilities. When observing how well the team cares for each other and for their guests, it is understandable why this KOA has been honored the highest possible KOA award! We absolutely highly recommend this KOA as your short-term or longer-term home away from home!”

Woods Park

Address: 1126 Postwood Dr, Denton, TX 76210, USA

Park

“Small little tucked away park with shade. The water fountains work and it’s exactly what you’d expect from a little neighborhood park. There is a basketball court (unsure if it’s regulation size but I don’t remember it being painted), a pavilion with 3 picnic tables, and a small building you can rent out from the Parks & Rec department. The building has one restroom, one mirrored wall, and comes equipped with several tables and chairs you can use. Will be great for a birthday party like we have planned!”

Beard Park

Address: 310 E Eldorado Pkwy, Little Elm, TX 75068, USA

Park

“All three jungle gym areas worked well, clean. Little to no shade, but really really fun place for the kids. This was a great place for an impromptu picnic with the kids. Plenty of places to sit. The trees helped have a wonderful breeze. The walking trail was really nice and relatively clean. The cabin and pay office were very cool”

Ridgepointe Park

Address: 4401 Standridge Dr, The Colony, TX 75056, USA

Park

“Nice gravel trail for running and gravel bikes. Loved the air pump and tools in the parking lot. The marsh views are really cool. We saw a lot of birds including blue jays, sparrows, hawks, cardinals, egrets, and mockingbirds. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is due to the massive amounts of dog feces on the edge of the trail. Yuck.”

Oakland Park

Park

“A beautiful campground with lovely, shaded sites...all with views of the lake...but closed for now, due to flood damage from storms last year. Now undergoing renovations.”
