“Our previous rehearsal dinner plans feel through, so I had to scramble. Hill Country Tasting Room was one of the first to respond to my email. Their prices were super competitive, and the pictures of the space looked perfect. Deepa communicated with me throughout the process and even let us come in early to decorate. The photos do not do this space justice. It is absolutely adorable, with an outdoor patio and a balcony area inside. We had about 50 people all inside because of the weather and it did not feel crowded. The drinks (we got the all-inclusive package) were delicious, and the bartenders (Jacky, Karen and Neil) were wonderful. Jacky even helped us decorate earlier in the day. I can't recommend this little gem enough! You won't regret booking here!”

“Today we stopped by for the first time and we will for sure be back! I got the Fajita Burrito and it was perfect! Gilberto has great customer service, i can tell he really cares! He had the biggest smile when i told him the food was amazing 😃 Don’t hesitate to give this place a try! The green sauce was mild, the red sauce is spicy (whichever you prefer), the meat was tender and flavorful! My husband liked it and he’s the biggest critic so that means this place is good! “I drove in from Wimberley to San Marcos to do some shopping and decided to do an early lunch. I have never been to Taqueria Mazatlan but it looked pretty popular with all the cars around it so I pulled in. The place is fairly nice on the inside and everyone was really friendly. They have a buffet with plenty of food but I wanted to try there Huevo Rancheros so I sat at a table and had the cutest little waitress bring me a cup of coffee and a menu as soon as I sat down. She may have been small but she has the biggest smile ever..;) This is the second place in San Marcos that had the Rancheros sauce on the side in a separate container. Maybe it's the new thing. Anyway, the food came fast and there were plenty of potatoes and a couple of slices of bacon with refried beans. Also, come with 3 different sautes and chips. The beans were a little grease for me and the chips were a little harder than I like, but the price was under 7 dollars and you gotta love that. One other point of interest, that's the first bathroom I've ever been in that has ceiling fans..)”

“Enjoyed lunch with a group of friends on a Friday. Parking is modest but was adequate when we were there.. you may find it crowded during weekends. We enjoyed the variety of choices for seating.... inside with air conditioning ...or on the air conditioned deck... or on the open air deck which overlooks the swimming area below. I enjoyed their chicken fried steak plate which was a generous portion with real mashed potatoes and savory green beans. The steak itself was reasonably tender ...if not fork tender. Other diners enjoyed the mushroom-onion- swiss burger with fries, very tasty, and the Friday special catfish plate. Also, three of us drank a Bloody Mary (one found the house-made Bloody Mary mix too spicy). An appetizer of fried mushrooms was a tasty starter, as well. Service was prompt and efficient, and prices are reasonable if not inexpensive. Overall, for a nice place to enjoy a beverage of your choice, some good food, and overlook the swimming area, this is a great choice.”

“We just heard about this place and were really excited to check it out. I'm so glad that we did! The menu is pretty limited which we took as a good sign that they're focused on making really good hamburgers. Obviously they are because the burgers were excellent. My daughter had a little hat which is a single Patty burger. The buns are toasted, or grilled, and it gives just an extra little something to the texture of each bite. The flavor of the burger itself was excellent I had the Southwest Burger which is their spicy version. It was really good. Jalapenos and yellow bird sauce along with pepper jack cheese gave it a really nice kick. The french fries and tater tots were really good but not anything over the top. They might want to think about some additional seasoning options. Hat Creek has a bunch of signature sauces available. I tried all of the sauces from the self-service counter and the only one that I really liked was the happy sauce. I'd recommend trying them all though as none of them are really bad. Overall we had a great lunch and would gladly go back anytime.”

I also like that they have the sweeteners, straws, stirrers etc… out where you can get them, not like so many Starbucks where it’s all behind the counter and they act annoyed when you ask for them.
