“My wife and I were scheduled to attend the 50th anniversary of friends of ours in Tappahanock, Va and thought this might be a good time to schedule a B & B somewhere in the Northern Neck area. The Flowering Fields B & B availability came to me from calls made on our behalf. We had such a truly enjoyable time. Susan and Wayne were just the perfect hosts. Even though it was 40 minutes away from our 50th anniversary venue, it was MORE than worth the trip! I love good crab cake, but had never had it for breakfast. Susan gave my wife and I options on breakfast--as she does with all guests--and I have GOT to unreservedly recommend the crab cake. I was fantastic. It was the perfect complement to Wayne's marvelous crepes and specialty pancakes and fruit we enjoyed. However, I almost never got to that course because I wanted to ask for another outstanding parfait with which we opened our breakfast! (But my wife held me back! Ha!) I also learned a lot about sailing from Wayne as he and Susan spend a big chunk of their year on their boat (and I'm a land lubber with an interest). The other guests were a delight and in spite of my simply wanting to sit on the porch and watch the deer in the fields with Sunny & Midi, the Inn's two public relations Irish setters, there were lots of other things that kept our attention in the surrounding area. Oh, it's a given we're going back. We've even decided on the room were going to request next time!”

“Always a great meal. Have eaten Breakfast, brunch, and dinner here many times. And we are never disappointed. Today I had the duck, with fig and risotto . It was cooked perfectly & so tender that I cut it with my butter knife. The entire staff is always kind and courteous.”

“The proprietors are as good looking as they are welcoming! I failed to give them sufficient notice to prepare one of their signature Northern Neck dishes for lunch so they took me for lunch at the car wash. Sadly, we took their car so mine is still dirty. But the fish of the day and she crab soup were delicious. The fresh beet salad (while not everyone’s cup of tea) was fantastic as was the sweet tea. No true southerner can resist him some sweet tea. If you’re ever in the area, give Keith and Natalie a holler. If they hear ya, you’ll get fed or taken ...”

“My 12 yrs old son has been a camper for several years now to the YMCA / APYC Camp Kekoka. It is the best summer camp for kids that I know of. They also work closely with the kids from the City of Alexandria. The camp director Cassie and her staff are the best in the field. Best Summer Camp for Kids!!!!!!”
