Great road trip. Excellent tour. Spent a lot of time roaming the grounds and looking at brick. They have a few picnic tables if you want to bring a lunch.
Very interesting tour of a historical landmark. The tour guide was great, and she did a wonderful job answering questions. Very interesting story behind this historical home. We were able to walk the grounds and see several other historical out buildings and the garden. Glad we stopped in.
Definitely a landmark worth visiting! Such interesting architecture, and it manages to keep the charm that many less historic places have with it being manageably busy and quite quaint. The tour guide we had was very informative and knowledgeable. Both the interior and exterior of the house are interesting, and the tales behind the house are equally as impressive. Definitely worth a day trip if youre coming from the hampton roads or richmond areas.
This place was amazing. It is the oldest brick building in America. Our tour guide Brenna was beyond amazing. She took the time to answer all my questions, and I learned a lot about the structure. I absolutely love this tour. If you are ever in Williamsburg, in my opinion, this is the best attraction in the area.
A great tour of the oldest documented brick dwelling in North America. Some of my favorite things were the original wood floors on the top floor along the child’s shoes found, the shells in the mortar of the exterior bricks, and the poem engraved on the window sill. I highly recommend and the docent was very knowledgeable.
