Park

“I Loved it. Virginia Beach has done some wonderful things with the neighborhood parks they have, both from the standpoint of making sure that developments include decent greenspace and land for parks, and the City for making sure they have great equipment and great maintenance of the parks. The net result is that a lot of local communities have these fantastic parks, near where they live, that has safe playground equipment for kids of any age, often including partial basketball courts as well as huge open grassy areas for anything else, that can be enjoyed without having to drive all over the place to find a suitable play area. It's also nice just from the perspective that these developments are not just street after street of cookie cutter sameness. The CoVB definitely gets this one right. Highly recommended!”

This is a great way to get outside and connect with nature so close to the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The spanish moss forests are very enchanting. Bald eagles also live in this park. This is a very natural dynamic place that everyone should visit.”

First Landing State Park

Address: 2500 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451, USA

“The history. 1619 - where it all began. It was and is still a beautiful spot. Unique landscape. Still gorgeous. Breathtaking. Swelled my heart. The artifacts I saw that were preserved on display as I walked through the park — a truly humbling experience. I experienced the greatness of the natural wilderness, the genius of the indigenous and the sadness of the legacy left by the settler colonialists, the very antithesis of “fair trade.” Those who came to stay... displaced the original inhabitants who had in fact civilized the territory and made it habitable.”

The basketball court was full and the kids were laughing and having fun. They have vending machines but the teenager got 3 dollars taken in one so be careful. Peaceful family friendly great atmosphere near shopping and restaurants.”
