Kimball Theatre

Movie theater

“Awesome! The theatre appears to be very historic. The show Bobby Blackhat was fantastic, unbelievable, majestic, talent-enfuzed and extremely entertaining. Bobby is a great showman and wonderfully talented, and his band is off the scale with musical skill! Sorry to overlook the Kimball, but the show was incredible!!!”

“We went with Upward Construction to repair & repaint our aging deck and to replace the lower deck with a patio. We absolutely love the finished product--they did an excellent job!! Tim was always reachable and provided practical and affordable suggestions. He's not new to the business and knows what he's doing! He was prompt to inform us of unexpected repairs (not a surprise with home repair projects) & transparent about their cost, making sure we were okay with things up front. Everyone who worked on the deck and patio did an excellent job and didn't leave a mess behind for us to clean up. We are very happy with the finished product and to have the opportunity to work with Tim & everyone who all made it happen!”

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation

Address: 401 W Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA

Museum

“Truly a National Treasure worth visiting! They do offer a discount for residents of Williamsburg, though they do not extend that to neighboring counties, or state residents for that matter. (That's a shame.) They did not offer a military/veteran discount either. (That too is a shame.) We had a GREAT time on our Haunted Williamsburg tour, which took us inside the Wythe House, a side room at the Governor's Palace, and the Geddy House. Not sure if they use different homes year to year, but that would definitely keep it fresh and draw repeat business.”

The selection of stones is fantastic with multiple phenomenal gems that you just don't see at the vast majority of businesses. This is by far the best jewelry store I've ever been to. I would recommend The Precious Gem to anyone in the area.”

Blackbird Bakery

Address: 407 W Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA

Bakery Store

“We ordered the blueberry cake, pumpkin twist, and cinnamon roll bomboloni. I went back in and ordered two more pumpkin twist!!! My sister and mom loved the bomboloni, said it was the best thing they've eaten our week long trip. They were tempted to go back late to see if the apple pie bomboloni was out yet, but we never made it back. We're picky when it comes to baked goods but we'd probably order more than half the items display, everything looked amazing! A few tables outside, standing room only inside while waiting in line.”

Fat Canary

Address: 410 W Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA

Restaurant

“I’ve heard about this restaurant for years and finally had the opportunity to go and boy did it live up to the hype. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. I’m definitely going to dream about this meal till I can go back again. It’s pretty expensive (1+$100pp) but the value is 100% there. Def recommend!”

La Piazza

Address: 403 W Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA

Restaurant

“We were skeptical with such mixed reviews but we really enjoyed our lunch. We ordered lasagna, chicken Madeira and eggplant parmesan. Large portions, you could definitely share. Most entrees were $20+ but the sandwiches were closer to $10. With several dishes you will receive a side of delicious thin buttery noodles!”

Chico's

Address: 422 W Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA

Clothing store Store

“Thank you for a wonderful afternoon of shopping. My grandmother and I came in to see what outfits we could find. This was the first time in this particular Chico's and we were impressed with the area. The employees here were fantastic and took good care of us while we tried on clothing. They even took the time to special order a size they didn't have to be sent to my grandmother, which is super awesome. This is a small, quaint store, tucked away in Colonial Williamsburg. It was a bit difficult to find at first because the store kind of blended in with other stores in the area at first. The name was unmistakable though. Parking isn't too difficult to find, but the parking lots can be a bit of a maze. I definitely suggest planning out a day spent in this shopping area, because it is beautiful. Tell the ladies at Chico's we said hi. :)”

Two Rivers Built

Home goods store Store

“When we purchased our new home recently, we decided to get a few things done before moving in. After contemplating the various areas we needed to address, we decided to call on Tim of Two Rivers Built, who we’d met via our realtor. Realizing that we’d be wanting to get moved in as soon as possible, he met with us quickly and got the ball rolling on extensive wallpaper removal, painting, re-doing or adding hardwood flooring and revamping a room to make it right for a home theater. That included custom cabinetry and other work. He brought excellent ideas to the project, obtained materials promptly and managed the personnel needed for the job. He shepherded the project along with an attention to detail. He also remained flexible and added additional customization when needed. Tim maintained communication throughout the process, offered progress reports and listened any time we had a concern about a minute detail. Above all for those seeking a contractor, Tim did everything he said he would do and made the process stress-free for us. We highly recommend him as a contractor who can manage and bring a project to completion in expert fashion.”

DoG Street Pub

Address: 401 W Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg, VA 23185, USA

Restaurant

“Updated review - Our waiter was phenomenal. We were sat in the lower level with all the other families with kids, which we didn't mind at all. My son loved the Welsh rarebit, bit the sauce was a bit too runny. I think it needs a longer bit under the broiler at the end to get a nice toasted top. He thought it was grand, but highly suggest the kitchen used toasted bread before adding the sauce per the traditional recipe rather than soft un-toasted bread. That is my recommendation there. Chicken wings were good. Broccoli soup needed something more, it was awfully bland, but I'm guessing it isn't ordered often. Fish and chips, even the kids portion, was amazingly large. We ended up taking most of it home for lunch the next day. The Fried Eggplant sandwich was really good and can recommend. Lamb burger was good, although a bit too salty, but still very tasty. Happy to see some UK beer available, wish there was more. Glad to see the quality of food and service has improved over the last two years.”
