“I was sharing with friends about my occasional hip and lower back pain, when they suggested I see Tara Johnson who did Bowen work. They explained that she did wonders for them. My first visit, I was skeptical. Just what is “Bowen”? I wondered how just touching me or manipulating parts of my body would help with this pain. My friends told me to give it more than one visit. So I did. The more I saw Tara, the more she told me about the Bowen technique and explained it with the knowledge and experience of someone who has studied this well and knows what she is doing. She also gave me exercises to use at home. Sure enough, I started noticing relief in my lower back and hips. I am happy to say that I no longer wake in the morning with lower back pain or walk hunched over for about 10 minutes until I feel better. She is gentle and firm when she needs to be. I highly recommend her, even though I still can’t explain what it is she does or how it works!”

“Dr. Jackie Rinta and her entire staff are absolutely the best care providers any of my animals I have ever had. When we first moved back to this area, we asked our neighbors who had pets if they had a suggestion for a Vet and they all spoke very glowingly about Neighborhood Pet Clinic. Dr. Rinta became the primary care provider for our shelter dog and was always considerate and a friend to us and to our "Angel in a Dogsuit". Dr. Rinta saved us money on many occasions as we selected an course of action during our dog's three cancers and Dr. Rinta suggested and took all the time needed to explain why the lesser expensive alternative would be the better choice. We have two new littermates now and they are raring to go if we even mention Dr Rinta's name. She and her staff are well organized, no one ever shows any confusion about who should something, they call back when they say they will, always explain everything in as much detail as is needed, and then happily explain it again from the part where I got lost. We feel as though we are entering a building where friends have gathered when ever we walk in. I'm sure there are many wonderful Vets for pet owners to choose from but choosing Neighborhood Pet Clinic will never give you the feeling that you need to look around for better people, better care, reasonable cost, sound advice and cheerful attitudes. Yes, I think they are without equal!”

“OAmazing school. Great teachers. Great students. We're on of the two top schools in the Vancouver school district in athletics and test scores. Teachers are very supportive and helpful. They will help you with anything if you need it or are confused. Most students are very polite and caring and helpful. One of the only, I think the only school in the VPS district that has two electives. 2 electives create happy students who get to try things that they may not have time to do outside of school. Students get a break to do something fun. Thomas Jefferson really encourages student involvement. Even if your not in a elective, you could still get picked for an activity during a spirit assembly. This is a great school full of students who want to and are willing to learn with the help of teachers that want to help them.”

“I was referred to Christina by my doula after the birth of my twins a couple years ago. The first PT I was referred to by my physician didn't really help me with my very large (and deep, which was more concerning) diastasis recti separation. After the first session with Christina, I knew I was in the right hands and could start healing myself after multiple births. I've been a personal trainer for over 15 years and I've never been educated how to heal this issue. Christina is not only very knowledgeable but patient and caring. She gave me exercises that were specific to my situation and that I was able to fit into my crazy schedule. I'm pregnant with baby #6 and now she's helping me with birth prep for my home birth. Being able to do exercises specific to get ready for birth and having a plan for labor positions gives me such peace of mind. I can't wait to do my postpartum recovery with her in order to get back to my active lifestyle. I will be forever grateful to you, Christina, for not only the help you've given me, but also for the pelvic floor/core strengthening information that I've been able to pass along to my training clients and friends. “Local Asian Bistro has big ideas. It sets it's sights high and the moment you walk in the door you can tell there is a lot of promise there. I love the thought that has been put into the dining room, the solid, modern, yet simple furniture, the natural colors, even the drink menu is aspiring to be something different than your average Asian joint. My friend gets the Pad Thai, because he is not particularly adventurous, but it's also true that culinary castles can rise and fall on a good Pad Thai. Well I try it and I start to get excited. It's a little different than I'm used to, but it's good. A little sweet, good noodle separation, some solid points... even the presentation is above average, the plating is a burnt orange wonder. The salad rolls are perfect, I can hardly wait for my Pho.The fixins are right, the basil fresh. There is no condiment tray, a choice I come to regret a bit as the meal progresses. It's a clear broth, the noodle have good lift and are not all clogged up at the bottom of the bowl. The broth itself is ok. Just ok. I would have liked to add a little heat to it and maybe a touch of sweetness. I mean I can respect if the broth is perfect deferring to the chef's decision not to put out a condiment try, but this is just ok. But then we come to the beef. I ask my lunch companion what he thinks the meat is and he looks at it and says chicken. The beef is blanched white, tasteless and chewy. It is in fact just this side of disgusting. No mouth feel, no umami, not even a nice texture. This is the moment I begin to regret not having the condiment tray. Disappointment begins to creep into my consciousness like a small roof leak in a beautiful house. I am willing to think that this is the one place where Local Asian misses the mark. But Pho is my grail. If you can't do broth, then are are a ton of other places that can and do. It's like biting into a welcoming apple only to realize it's a red delicious. I might give Local Asian Bistro a second chance, my wife loves Pad Thai (In fact, like my friend, it's all she ever gets) and anything that makes her happy, makes me happy. but I won't be ordering the Pho, which feels weird to me. like going into a hot dog place and ordering hamburgers.”

“I had a leaky kitchen faucet and called Summit at 9am and they were able to come at 10am the same day. The two men that came were very professional and respectful, figuring out quickly what was wrong. It was a quick fix, thankfully, needing no replacement parts, so their time was free. They gave me advice on how to contact the faucet manufacturer if more problems arise, informing me that the faucet should have a lifetime guarantee, which I did not know. They were super warm and friendly, 5/5 would recommend Summit and I will go back to them if I have problems in the future.”

If things got challenging or there were problems to solve he was right there with solutions. “Full disclosure, I am friends with an instructor here who’s been encouraging me to take classes. I am not in the shape that I want to be, and I have some injuries so I was hesitant. But every body type seems to be represented here, and modifications are highly encouraged (and celebrated). Classes are hard but I feel so energized and strong after each one I take, I immediately look for the next one that fits my schedule. The instructors make you feel empowered and I got addicted quite quickly. Perhaps the best part though, is how friendly everyone is. The instructors go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, and each class I’ve gone to, a classmate has welcomed me with a warm hello and engaged in conversation. Everyone is encouraging and happy to be there. You feel like you are truly part of a community. All ages and fitness levels are welcome here, and I am so grateful I get to take class. Anyone who is hesitant, please come take a class or two. You won’t regret it!”
