“Huge improvement from when I was there 3 yrs ago. This may now be my favorite place on/by the south end of the lake! Absolutely worth stopping in for the driving range, golf simulator or axe throwing. Even hanging out for a beer or 2 is nice. Very friendly place. Certainly worth a stop in for someone who hasn't been there before. Hot dogs r great too! It was brought to my attn, I didn't mention how good the cod fish fry was by my wife in my post, it was the best in the area.....not super greasy like other places. Light and fluffy, and the baked beans were awesome. They taste homemade”

“Northern Detour (formerly Poplar Point) is a terrific place, if you're able to spend the summer season in an RV or are looking for a place for a month. It's quiet and peaceful here right on the little Poplar lake. Park owners are also wonderful neighbors from St. Croix Falls. It's a small jewel near the St. Croix river.”

“I loved my weekend at Prairie Hill haven There were not many houses around so it was peaceful And quiet it had so much charm There was so much room to spread out and A nice deck to sit on and look out at the pond And it was so incredibly clean. I didn't want to leave! I wish we had been there a bit earlier in the season the fireplace would have been wonderful. I cannot recommend this place enough!”

“Just a small, wayside park, but it's a WWII memorial purchased in 1947 by the citizens of Elba. It has beautiful river scenery across from the Astico campground. They do have a porta-potty during the summer, a charcoal grill, a spring fed waterfall of sorts, and a picnic table.”

“I would like to grab attention to below review, Since I was the witnessed the lady was shouting as like hell where me and my wife was having breakfast. It was human error but I think the lady was trying to get compensation over small issue. Our stay was good and we would like to be here as quite place. We being coming here since 15 years and the staff are nice all the time as well this place is old but its very clean like home and price wise its very affordable. Since we move out of this town we used to come for pool and today its in the same manner clean and upgraded. Since I never write reviews for any business but this was not fair and I wrote it.”

“We’ve tent camped here several times each year since 2020. Even after change of ownership, it’s always been a great experience for us. We enjoy being away from the busy state park to sleep. We’ve been there in July, August, September, October. The fall foliage when visiting in October is breathtaking at this campground. Bathrooms are always super clean, good hot showers. The only time we had an issue was with some noisy neighbors up until 4am being so loud. We understand that is okay until quiet hours and gave them some grace until closer to midnight, but we ended up hollering at them from our tent a couple of different times in early morning hours. Looking back we should have called the owner! Usually a very busy campground but always pleasant experience.”

“I started visiting VVRC the week after the nude car show (sorry I missed it, I heard it was a blast). I’ve visited every week since and I am hooked. The price is right and the facilities are clean. I lost my wife in June. That was bad enough but the frustration that rained down from the insurance companies and investment firms not to mention the county had me so tense. I remember hearing about a nudist club near Cambridge so I looked it up. It sounded great. It is. I arrived and paid my fee for a day pass and was directed to the parking area and told to go ahead & undress and enjoy my day. It took 30 seconds to shed my clothes and the tension and frustration immediately started to disappear. I felt so relaxed as I walked across a huge expanse of grass, totally nude, past the clean pool area with loads of chairs and loungers, all in good condition. I spread my towel on the beautiful lawn on the other side of the pool and enjoyed the day. Now each visit ends with a stroll along their trail in the woods. The season ends Sep 11. I can’t wait for next year’s season, I will get a gold pass.”

“I love it here. Beautiful area and i have a great view of lake. Very quiet the neighbors all keep 2 themselves. Vwe got our own personal electric and water and sewer hookups. We pay electric bill. My first month here was end of march. I have propain heat. An Rodger hands me a $98. Electric bill. Nope noway cud that bill.”

“This is a quiet and friendly campground, tucked away on the edge of Lake Wisconsin. Offering seasonal as well as overnight camping, there is something for any length of stay. Clean restrooms and showers are always available. There is a sizable play area for kids and an activity pavilion where kids of all ages can find electronic games, billiards, corn hole, and others. Or, just sit by your own camp and enjoy the relaxing pace of the campground. We enjoyed every bit of the time we spent there, making new friends, socializing with others, and taking in the beauty of the surroundings as nature changes seasons.”

“Luxury campgrounds with lots of amenities..plus you have the casino, Hotel right close by...center to wisc Dells and Baraboo.. We like going to this RV park very well kept and security patrols all day and night... Thank you to who ever made that beautiful new playground happen..our Granddaughters were ecstatic when they seen that. So was Grandpa and Grandma!”

“If you are looking for a family friendly campground, I highly recommend Skonewood. I like it that the playground with wide open grass area for sports are available right on sight so it's easy to keep your eyes on the kids. Each stall came with running water and electricity which is a HUGE plus!! The swimming area was great for kids. The float mat was their favorite!! Lots of sunnies if you're looking to fish but not much more than a bunch of sunnies. Once in a while you'll see a few bass come by but that's about it. This was our second time here and would definitely come back again in the future.”
