“This is an excellent location to begin your flight training. As an instructor with over 7,000 hours of instruction given and 15 years of experience, I can tell you this location is an ideal platform for learning to fly. When my students are ready for complex airspace we have that to the north of the airport and when they're only suited for less complex airspace when they're initially learning we have that aplenty in the area of our airport and to the South into the West and to the east. The other great advantage of this location, is that practice areas are very close and can be accessed readily. Some of the airports much further to the North - Airport Palo Alto Airport and San Carlos require the pilot to fly some distance before they're able to find a suitable practice area. Not to mention the problems with San Carlos airport is that the winds are almost always cross at the field it takes at least a half hour to get to a practice area not to mention the low overlying class bravo airspace that sits only 1500 ft above the airport. Not to mention the issues of fog off the nearby Bay and long sequencing times out of Palo Alto Airport. San Martin Airport has none of the aforementioned problems. Most days are flyable and the runways, readily accessible. Just minutes away is a towered Airport when it comes to practicing towered operations it's a short distance away at Reid Hillview Airport. Again, San Martin Airport it's an ideal location to learn to fly and that's coming from an instructor with over 15 years of experience an FAA gold seal flight certificate with over 7,000 hours of instruction given. “I basically lived in this FBO for a good week. I was there 7am for training at the adjacent flight school (called: The Flying School) till 8pm everyday. They have a great pilot lounge with many reclining chairs, a great conference room and a constant supply of coffee. What more can one ask for?! They also have a shower as well if you need it. Their fueling service (AvGas) is expeditious and accurate. The line staff as well as the front desk personnel are very friendly and always eager to help. Highly recommend stopping by.”

“The California Capital Air Show at Mather Air Field was an incredible display of aerial acrobatics and fighter jet power. Thanks to VIP tickets from my wife's company, a proud sponsor, we were able to have a top-notch experience at this packed event. The afternoon was filled with jaw-dropping performances by some of the most talented pilots around. They maneuvered massive planes in ways that seemed to defy physics. The show featured the USAF Thunderbirds, whose stunning formation flying exemplified teamwork and precision. There were gravity-defying stunts by aerobatic champions in their brightly colored prop planes. The fan-favorite demo team had the crowd on their feet with amazing almost vertical climbs. Despite the long walk from parking, the event was smoothly run. Witnessing these feats help contextualize the importance of skilled pilots. With world-class entertainment and perfect weather, the California Capital Air Show was a patriotic, family-friendly event that celebrated aviation. My wife and I felt honored to attend thanks to our VIP experience. We appreciated the chance to witness incredible flying firsthand and gain new appreciation for the pilots who push the limits in the sky. “Great smaller airport. Parking was easy In and Out. Ticketing was located in a different building than the terminal. A little confusing, but there were people positioned to direct you where u need to be. TSA was a breeze compared to larger airports. I enjoyed practically NO line to get thru. Once you get thru into the secured area there's coffee and a few Eateries as well as a couple c-stores to pick up last minute conveniences. I really enjoyed utilzing this location. And I will in future again!”

“A small airport, home to GoJump Oceanside. Very basic aviation services, including toilets, fuel, parking, etc. Some mechanical services as well as a helicopter medical service. GoJump Oceanside is probably the biggest user of the airport, with dozens of flights per day to drop fun jumpers and tandem jumpers out at 13000 feet.”
