“We love flying with Delta, and connecting through Atlanta has always been a great experience for us. It’s a very busy airport—no surprise since it’s Delta’s main hub—but everything runs smoothly and our flights have always been extremely reliable. Delta also has some of the best food options of any airline, which makes long travel days much easier. The Delta Sky Clubs can get crowded during peak times, but the service and amenities are consistently excellent. For travelers with Priority Pass, the lounge in Concourse E is a great alternative when the Sky Clubs are full. Another thing we really appreciate is that for international flights, many gates use facial recognition boarding. It’s fast, efficient, and we don’t have to keep our passports out, which makes the whole process so much simpler. Overall, we always enjoy flying with Delta and highly recommend them—especially when traveling through Atlanta.”

“The airport is big enough which is clean and neat. There are lots of food options too for domestic travelers. The lines were also not too crazy. For kids there is small play area which is good for families.”

“Never expected an airstrip tucked away in the rural area outside the little town of Delano. Great architecture of a hanger plus some other buildings. One building even displays past political candidate banners. Quaint spot, looks like a great area to fly. Two ways to fly - way outside my comfort zone! 🛩️🛣️”

“My son has been diligently working towards obtaining his private pilot license for the past few months. With his newer instructor, Josselyn, by his side, his journey has been nothing short of amazing. Josselyn has exhibited exceptional patience and understanding, ensuring that my son stays on track despite his demanding school schedule at PIA. I've had the pleasure of witnessing the dedication of all the women at the flight school; from the super friendly staff who handle scheduling to Josselyn herself, each one has played a crucial role in guiding my son through this process. I even had the opportunity to take a flight with him myself! I'm incredibly grateful for the support and expertise of these remarkable women. Without hesitation, I highly recommend their services to anyone pursuing their pilot's license.”

“Good food choices, easy to navigate, and plenty of seating. I may have just been there at a good time. 🤣 The layover was OK and was just enough time to eat and take a bio break. The concourse had lots of foot traffic but didn't feel crowded.”

“My son and I come out here to do some plane spotting. It's not very active but it's nice and quiet out here. The desert scenery is beautiful during sunset. You can sometimes catch the sky divers practicing. There was supposed to be an airplane museum built out here at one time. Hopefully they're still working on that. Fingers crossed. If you're able to catch it, the annual Buckeye Air Fair is a lot of fun. A great family event that I highly recommend. Bring your walking shoes.”

“I was stationed from 1983-1987 at what was Griffins Air Force Base (AFB) in Rome NY. Griffins supported a wing of the Strategic Air Command (SAC); we operated the B-52 Stratofortress bomber, the KC-135 and the KC-10 refueling tankers. Life on a SAC base was always exciting, filled with emergency landings, strategic threat alerts, mission capability inspections and lots of exercises.👎 As I was a young adult and building a career, I was able to learn a lot about how I would fit in the USAF as an airman; this experience shaped my future. The city of Rome was small and at times wasn't the most hospitable. It wasn't my favorite assignment, however, I did have numerous enjoyable moments. Nothing beats the beauty of the silver lakes punctuated by the vibrant foliage in upstate NY during the fall...truly spectacular scenery - an outdoor enthusiast's and a photographer's dream. Great experiences: I got married while stationed at Griffins, I had my first child and got my first dog (named Roman) - a beautiful Doberman and Boxer mix...I really loved and miss him dearly 😢. I bought my first camera, learned photography and completed my first degree. In 1995, the 3,500 acre Griffiss AFB was victim of the 1990 Department of Defense Base Realignment and Closure act. Griffiss AFB is now Griffiss Business & Technology Park which includes Griffiss International Airport.”
