“We attended a performance of the Shakespeare play, Measure for Measure in the Ravine on EKU's campus. As usual, the performing members of the Appalachian Shakespeare Center at EKU put on an enjoyable and professional play. They always add a little something extra to their performances and this year was no different. Some nice sarcastic songs were mixed in with the usual dialogue. The air was cool from a gentle breeze and as it got dark outside, the audience was treated not just to Shakespeare but bats flying and chirping, lightening bugs and several different species of tree frogs serenading.”

“The Holocaust Museum is quite sombering however, it is informative and detailed. The traffic flow within the Museum wasn't bad. Parking is a challenge, and you're needing to reserve your spot before they allow you in. Security is higher in this Museum than most throughout SoCal. It costs $1 to use some earbuds and walk around with a recording about each specific section. Highly recommend that. The details on the recording explain extensively on what each photo and item is as you're walking through. The Museum begins with how and why the Jews were targeted and the steps taken to hold them accountable. There are individual stories to be heard, and graphic photos to assist in understanding the full picture. Staff is nice and allow us to walk through on our own. There wasn't any sort of problem during my experience through the Museum.”

“This is a very special library in Arivaca. The staff is more than happy to help you find what you need. They used to run a few programs pre covid. You can still walk up to the door and someone will help you or hang out in the patio they have wifi and tables to use. I have often done my homework out there. I know that the hours have changed since the pandemic so may want to check before going if you live far away. It is my favorite library in the whole wide world.”

“I'm pleasantly surprised. Given the close proximity to the Carnegie system in Pittsburgh I wasn't sure what to expect. However, in little Monongahela this is a gem of a library. It's newer as libraries go and they've got a lot of selection in a small space. Better still they participate with Washington County Library System so any book in the system can be shipped here. They're also in the 21st century and offer e books and other online tools and resources.”
