“Inside the Domino Effect As best I can tell, the Domino Effect occurs for two reasons. First, many of the habits and routines that make up our daily lives are related to one another. There is an astounding interconnectedness between the systems of life and human behavior is no exception. The inherent relatedness of things is a core reason why choices in one area of life can lead to surprising results in other areas, regardless of the plans you make. Second, the Domino Effect capitalizes on one of the core principles of human behavior: commitment and consistency. This phenomenon is explained in the classic book on human behavior, Influence by Robert Cialdini. The core idea is that if people commit to an idea or goal, even in a very small way, they are more likely to honor that commitment because they now see that idea or goal as being aligned with their self-image. Returning to the story from the beginning of this article, once Jennifer Dukes Lee began making her bed each day she was making a small commitment to the idea of, “I am the type of person who maintains a clean and organized home.” After a few days, she began to commit to this new self-image in other areas of her home. This is an interesting byproduct of the Domino Effect. It not only creates a cascade of new behaviors, but often a shift in personal beliefs as well. As each tiny domino falls, you start believing new things about yourself and building identity-based habits.”

“I graduated from the LPN program at Ruby’s and I’m now a Licensed Practical Nurse. Ruby’s gave me everything I needed to be successful and I’m very thankful for Mrs.Carolyn and Mrs.Endya who helped me every step of the way, if I needed help or just some encouraging words. I’m currently enrolled in a RN program and I feel ahead of the game from all I learned at Ruby’s! BTW…That’s my graduating class when you google Ruby’s name. Love that picture!!!”

“It’s been a while since I rented, but these were always the cleanest rentals you could find. Friendly staff and always willing to help and welcome you. Like anywhere some instructors are awesome while others you don’t get along with. Generally very good instructors and great experience. They also have a testing center and had good experiences there as well.”

“Got stuck in the mud flats. Made hot milk and clam soup (8600 calories of deliciousness). “We got a runner.” PG and Eddie are incredible. PG taught us 2 of the 7 ways to find a clam. Eddie didn’t laugh when we got stuck. Shaun was there too. -1/5 of a star because we weren’t allowed to drive the skiff #skiffinaround. It was an honor to visit the filming location of “The Lifestyles of the Wet and Muddy.” I got an autograph from a sea hare. The diva of the deep bit my toe. We saw an osprey catch a fish - neat! We held our pee for 7 hours - not as cool! The wind - a lot of it. Got some sick windburn. Some of the local bachelors mentioned our rosy cheeks - jokes on them, that’s sunburn baby. At dredge-o-clock we dropped that bad mamma jamma, and the dredging cousins founded the dredging dynasty. All in all, it was a real treat. VIMs is great. Glad I’m no longer stranded in the Bracks -because in the tidal creeks, it’s everyone for themselves. #AldiGang”

“Sunday after Christmas took a nostalgic campus tour. It was great, no one was around and I could just stroll about. Started counting new buildings, that have appeared since my days on campus and decided it was easier to count the one that I knew, that were still there. Even my old dorm was gone! South Hall, my speech and theatre homebase was renamed. But get this, the Bursar's building was gone too, if they would have asked I would have helped tear that one down. The advancements in technology and convenience that have amassed since I graduate in 1985 really changed the place. Proud to be a Falcon!!!!!!!!”

“What a blast! Had an outstanding experience flying. A great gift from my girlfriend who was able to tag along for only an extra $20. We flew with Wyatt, a young trainer who was great to go with. He was thorough, made us feel comfortable and safe, as this was both of our first times in a plane this small. It was hands on, and you felt like the real deal once the headsets came on. Highly recommend to anyone. If you can, book with Wyatt!”
