“If you love vintage cars, this place is amazing! Greg has assembled a beautiful collection of early Chrysler cars and artifacts and is kind enough to share it with the public for FREE (donations are appreciated). If you or a friend or family member want to sit and talk cars with someone for an afternoon - Greg is your guy. Can hardly wait to visit again!”

“Fantastic tour!! I booked this mostly for my husband’s sake but we both thoroughly enjoyed it! Our tour involved only one other couple so we were small enough to all be able to fit in the rooms and look closely at items in the house. Our tour guide Ida Ellen was AMAZING!! She knew so much but was also very friendly and approachable. We asked lots of questions which she was able to answer, and it was fascinating to hear about the other types of tours done at the house. The house itself has been home to several families but one main one, through an intriguing period of history - during the time home electricity became available, before indoor plumbing was normal, and when all work was still done manually albeit frequently with the help of specific tools. Honestly I would do the tour again, and I’d be interested to do the other tours available sometime also. There were also some spots on the grounds we were able to explore before and after at our own pace. We were encouraged to take pictures or videos and there is a charming gift shop I recommend stopping by before leaving. There’s even a free little library with a unique feature on the corner of the lawn. I do recommend buying tickets in advance even though you don’t need to. Someone came in the middle of our tour and wanted one, but they had to wait. There is also a self-guided tour option but only when they aren’t running the guided tours. Technically the self guided are free but they recommend a donation to keep their historical work active.”

“Not to be missed historical and maritime museum! Excellent displays of artifacts from the Mississippi River and surrounding communities. Posters give a lesson in the people who established the towns along the River. The nuanced discussion of slavery gives credit to the remarkable achievements of African Americans in the face of unimaginable obstacles. The aquarium looks to be under development but is still impressive.”

“An excellent little museum that shows the history of steamboats on the Ohio River and the history of the first Swiss settlement in the United States. The lady at the front desk was amazingly helpful in helping me find the burial place of my family and extended family. The gift shop is amazingly inexpensive. And the people in general are fantastic.”

“Old Salem is an amazing little place, it's not what many areas like this are where you have to pay for everything, it's super well maintained and you can quite literally feel the history here. Whether you are here to walk, take pictures, or just to go back in time this is a not-so-hidden gem of our city that makes you realize just how great our little area is!”

“Beautiful gulch and trail loop! The homestead has been nicely restored on the exterior! And, though no entry is allowed into any of the buildings, walking around them and on their old doorsteps and historic grounds is a walk back in time!”

“Built in 1895, beautifully restored almost 100 years later in 1994, the de Witt Cottage features a large collection of wildfowl decoys, as well as a wide variety of old photographs, newsclips, and antiques. Lower floor free, $2 donation requested for upper gallery, which is accessible via stairlift for those who may have difficulty climbing. Video lecture provides a brief history of the Virginia Beach boardwalk. Great lens back in time for those interested in the area's history. Curator was knowledgeable and gregarious without being pushy. Souvenir postcards 3-for-$1. Gift shop also featured books, art, jewelry, and (of course!) decoys. Purchase came with complimentary reusable state-branded canvas tote. Would recommend checking it out if you're in the area.”

“I recommend visiting this historical gem in Albany. Paul and his team are very knowledgeable, welcoming, and instrumental in preserving the legacy of Stephen and Harriet Myers' legacy. I appreciate their research and delving into local upstate abolitionists whose names aren't as well known, but because of this museum, their lives, stories, and contributions to the underground railroad are highlighted.”

“We came here for the North Pole express and really enjoy our time. The train sets were set up and moving all around. The train ride was a neat experience. Dress warm! The train is small scale so be prepared to crouch off your an adult. They punch your ticket and you go around the track 2xs. Afterwards you can get snacks inside their warehouse filled with decorated Christmas trees. We did the ELF scavenger hunt as well. Will be a tradition from now on for our family”
