“I stayed here for New Year’s Eve, which was my second time at the hotel. The location doesn’t get much better—walking distance to the pier restaurants and beach but far enough to be quiet. The staff is probably the friendliest I’ve encountered in my travels. The suite was huge and totally worth it. I will certainly be back!”

“The Shade was a very beautiful and relaxing hotel. The service at the hotel was extremely friendly(aside for the restaurant "sea level", see my reviews statement for that restaurante! All in all the I would love to come back to this hotel in the future, maybe try out a different location. The best and my most favorite enjoyable moments was in the tub, that was located on our private balcony. The tub is outside people!!! Yeaaasssssss What a great set-up. See pictures I have provided. “Great hotel. Wonderful restaurant, rooftop bar, and ground floor cafe with bakery. Service is wonderful including room service. The chicken noodle soup that I ordered at 11 pm arrived piping hot in the room. Facility was clean throughout. The bathroom was gorgeous. We also enjoyed the beautiful bar next to the hotel lobby. Really wonderful stay. Our room was very comfortable with a view of the hills; it was quite a challenge to leave the comfort of the room to explore LA. Convenient to the Hollywood Bowl and the various museums. The Comedy Store is across the street from the hotel. Also love the glass/mirror sculpture in the lobby. Thank you!”

“The people were very nice, they accommodated my needs, being I was in a wheelchair. They have a swimming pool. The breakfast was great in the morning. I never had complaints about the service or the business. They were very helpful, and I'm thankful for their assistance. My only complaint was that someone in the next room was smoking weed, and it would come through my oxygen tube straight into my nose . It was a non-smoking 🚭 facility, but it made it difficult to breathe. Other than that, the stay was beautiful and peaceful. It was amazing to open the curtains and feel safe in the evening. And to let sunshine 🌞 in the room in the mornings. It made everything worthwhile. Reading my bible in that atmosphere was great because there weren't any distractions or noise other than everyday to day living. This place was by far one of my favorite places. The staff was honest and very dependable. I love this place it was family oriented, and we felt welcomed.”

I've been coming to El Rey Inn for quite some time and I have to say that every single time, this place is one of the most cleanest, private, and inviting hotels in the entire Los Angeles county. The owners are very forgiving people because, believe it or not, I was already banned from this place, but the owner one night decided to let me back in and I'm thankful he did because, hands down, El Rey Inn truly lives up to their name. From smoking rooms to non-smoking rooms. Private parking inside. Everyday the maid changes the sheets, mops, cleans the showers, and scents the rooms, and leaves the place feeling like new EVERY SINGLE DAY. I can't stress that enough but I mean every single day of the week. I give it a perfect rating for the because the prices are affordable. And congratulations on the filming that is about to happen there. So, to El Rey Inn, you guys hold the crown. Thank you for your hospitality and services. “Quiet. Dolly will answer your questions and hold a spot for you. Nice swimming pool and a clubhouse for your wifi. This week wifi was to be installed. Haven't checked if it is working or not. Some sites are pull through. The sites have gravel and full hookups. We enjoyed our stay. Be sure and take Elizabeth Lake Road, not Johnson Road which is the back way and VERY steep. It was $45/night or $245/week.”

“Left my watch in the room. Went back at 8.30pm to pick it up Was told no manager was on site to allow them to get into the safe. Both managers had left. No managers work after 8pm it seems. Getting i On a flight and in told I can pay for shipping and insurance. The service agent was obtrusive and rude. Really liked the hotel, but not the after service. Very very bad”
