“I can wholeheartedly recommend Neal and Paula Woods! They are the embodiment of excellence in real estate. We relocated here to Santa Cruz from western Pennsylvania for work. We knew no one and nothing about the area. Paula and Neal were recommended by coworkers of my husband and they turned out to be such a valuable resource to us. There is a reason they've been so successful at what they do for so long! They really know real estate in Santa Cruz county. They know the best commute locations. They know which schools are great. They know what neighborhoods will hold their value and maintain your investment. But where they really demonstrated their value to us was not in locating a home to purchase, but actually making sure we closed escrow on a home that we love. Closing on our house was not a straight and easy path. We had some difficulty with our mortgage broker (also recommended by coworkers) because of some unpermitted additions that had been made to the property by the previous owners. Basically, our mortgage broker was not acting as a strong advocate on our behalf with our lender. After weeks of dragging his feet in the loan approval process, Paula and Neal knew when it was time to throw in the towel with this guy and call in someone that knew what they were doing. They set us up with a fantastic local broker that got our loan approved and moving forward in days! We were having trouble getting our property insured with our insurance company. Paula and Neal put us in touch with a local insurance agent that got us same-day approval for homeowners insurance for our property (and at a much better rate than our insurance company offered us before refusing to insure the property). As we discovered, finding a house in Santa Cruz county is one thing, closing on it is quite another! Paula and Neal will make sure you find the perfect house and close escrow on it! Not only do they know buying and selling houses- they are a fantastic resource for everything you might need in when moving to a new area! Paula was able to recommend a kitchen designer to help us correct some very unique design flaws with our current kitchen. That person has proven to be excellent. She was able to recommend a contractor to execute the necessary remodeling work that needed to take place in our kitchen and downstairs and he has been wonderful thus far. She also had fantastic recommendations for an orthodontist for our daughter to continue treatment here. They were a wealth of information about the area, fun things to do with children, etc. The bottom line is this: if Neal and Paula make a recommendation about a vendor, repair person, restaurant, etc., you can be sure that their recommendations will always be right on target and top notch! Most importantly, they are such a joy to work with! We had so many glitches that were beyond their control when trying to close on this property, but they both were so encouraging and helped keep things in perspective for my husband and myself. They do their best to make the process fun and we really needed that element to make this cross-country move a positive experience for us! You will not be disappointed when you hire them to represent you for your real estate needs!”

“The Surf house and it's hosts are a dream come true. The house is full of character and it feels like the footprint of the space hugs the landscape with the large windows framing the ocean scene. There are lots of toys to pass the time or you can sip your coffee while people watching from deck or kitchen windows. It was a group of about 20 people that the restaurant staff managed with exemplary service and speed. The Crow's Nest is ideal for this with its beautiful Yacht Harbor location, easy parking, and long time fine reputation as an iconic beach front restaurant. We all had a wonderful visit together and love the food and service.”
