“Marian Coffin’s garden design here at Gibraltar in Wilmington Delaware is romantic, with great statuary, this now feels like a secret garden due to the fact that the house of the estate is unfortunately in disrepair. Coffin, a landscape architect for the East Coast elite including designing the reflecting pool at Winterthur. “We stopped here for lunch while visiting the nearby Hagley Museum. It is apparently one of several in the Wilmington area. It has a cute name and the sandwiches are named after dog breeds (no cats). There is ample seating inside and out; most of the patio is in full sun. I had the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato bisque; my wife had the "Cocker Spaniel" vegetarian sandwich. The food came out very quickly and tasted as we expected.”
