“Outstanding facility. We made the 1+ hour trip from Clearwater Beach twice last month. Open rec play was crowded until around 11am but we planned ahead and reserved a court at 10 for an hour. Stopped by Sage Biscuit Cafe for lunch and headed back over the Skyway Bridge. Sure wish Pinellas County had a facility like this.”

“Nice place to bring the family. Several pavilions with seating, and charcoal grills as well. Sarasota bay is just south of the park. There is also a playground with slides, swings, a climbing wall, and a merry go round. Lots of shade provided by the massive banyan tree. And if its too hot, there's always the pool or the bay”

“Ventured out with our puppy to check out the dog park here. It was sooo huge! Biggest dog park we've been to in manatee county and kept up really well. There is both a small dog side and the big dog side....the big dog side is enormous. There are several hoses, pools, and dishes throughout this area. There is different playground equipment throughout as well. Many dispensers for cleaning up to and shovels, rakes. Many trees and covered patios providing shaded areas. There are also trails around a beautiful lake with a lot of wildlife to see. Was a very nice afternoon..... the only negative is there were no dogs when we went. We will definately be back.”

“Water activity is the main thing you can do here, which I recommend, kayaking was fun, lots of birds around here. Some days of the week they have live music. you can make a campfire and enjoy some beers. That burger was my dinner, very delicious but a bit pricey for not having at least something on the side.”

“Not quite what I was expecting, but still lovely and peaceful for a walk. And for $5, you can't go wrong! This looks like a great spot for camping, boating and canoeing. For walking around and checking out wildlife, it was okay. I was hoping to see some turtles and armadillos because they were posted on the website. We explored the Gopher Trail and it looks like it gets a lot of traffic from horses. Once you walk away from the road, you experience the peace of walking between the trees. Note: The paths are mostly sand.”

“Great place to bike or walk and view wildlife. Saw a lovely tortoise and some cool birds while passing through this preserve to Robinson. Great gravel trails that are nicely maintained and flat. Some parts of the preserves trails and the main lookout spot are not shaded, so bring water and keep that in mind.”

“I now have 3 of the large units set up. I had such great luck with the first one that my husband insisted he buy me two more so I could cut down on my individual pots and here in the Florida sun not worry so much when we are away! We live in a condo and these are on my balcony growing tomatoes, peppers, basil, mint and parsley. So far - several months since the first one - and one month since the 2 additional - having great success. Every time I have had a question - even gardening question, I pick up the phone and call the number on the unit and get great advice - first call. Excellent customer support. I have been growing vegetable in pots for years on my deck and this is the most successful crop yet! Thanks!”

“We had the pleasure of spending entire month of March and we did not regret it. There were activities everyday and rode our bikes to the island at least three times a week. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. We booked our stay for next year and are thinking about at least two months if not more. Restaurants and grocery shopping are nearby.”

“Very clean play ground area. The splash pad was just jets, but the water was a perfect temperature. Easy access to restrooms that were also well maintained and clean. Parking on site. Walking along the river was enjoyable. Lots of fun benches and seating to sit and enjoy the view.”

“There is so much more to this memorial than others we've been to. There is a very in depth video, nature walk through the terrain Desoto would have encountered, knowledgeable period reenactors sharing their knowledge of equipment, war tools and so much more, and a beautiful area to explore right on the shore. So worth the time and the cost which was FREE. It is a national park and maintained as such. Highly recommend to anyone who does not have much knowledge of this period of time in our early history of settlement.”
