“Pleasant surprise! The water park is wonderful for kids. We came on a Saturday sunny day and it was not crowded at all. There are plenty of lifeguards and shaded areas as well. The adult pool also offers a "beach" shallow area which gradually becomes deeper. There is a water slide which was closed during our visit. The facilities were very clean. Small fee to enter the park. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. The park also offers a playground. Definitely recommend”

“A great place for relaxing and walking around the lake. There are benches about every 50 feet. Water birds enjoyed the water, although a sign said do not feed the alligators. The paved walk was shady. Restrooms and picnic tables available. A nice children's playground too.”

“This is a great place for a short, casual, relaxing walk in nature. The trails are short but I didn't mind because the grounds have character. You can camp there and rent cabins too. How awesome! There a pool for guest there too. It was built in 1932 and more land was added in the 1950's. It certainly has a late 50's feel to it. It's pet friendly too.”

“Super fun experience! We boarded the Sea Dragon Air Boat Safari. Capt Mike was a knowledgeable and entertaining guide. The music chosen for the ride really heightened the site seeing/alligator journey! A great idea for families or individuals!”

“Beautiful park and fields. Very well maintained, it’s clean and has working restrooms. Plenty of parking. It looks like there’s a store but it’s been closed the few times I’ve been there. There are bleachers on both sides around the play field.”

“Beautiful Florida. The trails are well labeled. I did the Orange, which is a short 15-20 min walk, and the Red, which took a little over an hour. The #1 thing I saw and learned here is how important fire is to the natural ecosystem. There are also a handful of larger educational plaques along the trails that are a nice touch. There is ample free parking.”

“Aww man awesome place for your dog big or small. They have a over 35 pound side and a under 35 pound side. I been meaning to take my dog “Astro” there and we finally did. We are trying to go at least every weekend for a lil while. He loved it. He gets to mingle with other dogs and just run and play with all types of wacky dogs. Highly recommended.”

“The park has a lot of shade trees, picnic tables and covered area which, in my opinion, is underutilized. Newtown Nation sponsors a farmers market every Friday and Saturday and has enlisted Stereo B Productions to provide music. Other vendors are encouraged to promote their business as well.”

“Lovely park. They have a nice boat ramp and even spaces for parking with trailers. The bathrooms are clean and wheelchair accessable. Overall very beautiful place. I would go there again.”

“I’ve been coming to this park for over twenty years. It’s had it’s fair share of updates. They try and keep up with the times. The pavilions aren’t that great. The equipment is nice enough, and can entertain small children for about an hour. There’s a basketball court to shoot hoops. Plenty of grass for you to run around. In the past couple years they’ve added a pet potty station- so, now you’re furry family members are welcome too. There are no restrooms for humans…”

“It was absolutely beautiful!! It was my 1st time out kayaking, I went out alone but it was great because I could go at my own pace! I have a huge fear of dark and/or deep water ( like 5'+ ... I know....kinda sad 😂) and this place is perfect because it has both shallow ( training ) water and open to the big bay. I got to know my new kayak and figure out paddling and how to calm when about to panic. The mangrove tunnels are close by to the launch and there are many people around so a solo person doesn't feel that lonely; yet far enough away for some peace and quiet. Bathroom is close by to the launch and parking; and probably my favorite thing there is a hose to wash off your vessel. .....really my favorite favorite part.....seeing kids out way farther than myself (with adults course); it gave me a bit more courage to keep going thinking if they are ok I might be ok too.”

“Thank you Cheryl and Bobby for being such wonderful hosts and making it the best family reunion experience for us! We were very impressed by both the cabins and campsites we had the opportunity to stay at. They we all clean and well taken care of. We also enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, stocked fishing pond, adorable donkeys, and beautiful views of the lake. We couldn't ask for a better family reunion and will definitely be back!”

“Beautiful area and scenery, with a lot of different trails to explore. Encountered a few armadillo's, and some orange trees. The trails we're decently large, with a decent amount of label markers throughout. There are no restrooms or out houses here. Dogs are allowed as long as they're leashed the entire time. Horses are also welcome. Upon arrival we were fortunate enough to see some cows grazing, as well as a few donkeys. Over all, this place is very peaceful and somewhere we'll return to.”

“Such a beautiful and amazing campsite along the St. John's river. The campground was so spacious, had an amazing dining pavilion with electricity and upgraded bathhouses. The campsite hosts Mitchell and Diane kept the grounds in fantastic shape and were so helpful during our stay. I highly recommend this site for your next group camping.”

“While exploring the area, we drove into Mary’s. What a great little hide away. The staff showed us one of the cabins which was beautiful. The cabins are on the water. Mary’s has a boat ramp, tackle shop, store, and RV sites. Clean area and a great staff. Thanks for showing us around.”

“Dupont Lake Park is a place where you go play baseball. If you love baseball this would be a fantastic place to go. The bathrooms could be cleaner you like to bird watch this will be a nice place to do for watching specially over the Retention Ponds a great place to go fishing. There's also a basketball court if you go around the baseball field you can get to it. It's a good basketball court for 1 on one player. It could have a little bit more nature to it I think it's missing that little bit of an element to make it the best park.”

“Great road cycling or running trail. Old railroad. You can get over 50 miles from Dunnellon or 100 round trip. Connects to Blue Run of Dunnellon Park. That portion of the trail is the nicest in my opinion - more shaded, picturesque but just a few miles. Withlacoochee is prettiest in the Inverness section. It's all a straight, well paved trail with room enough to ride fast and pass safely. The trail undulates with the terrain but no really steep climbs. Grades are subdued as is usual with old rails but still you can tell when you are going up and when you are coming down. In a 62 Mile ride we had about 980 feet in elevation on our stats.”
