Since it was a funeral in the open air the heat was one more bad thing in an already bad day. That we were able to see the beauty, clearness, and serenity of the park under the circumstances was amazing.”

“Huge park to keep the kids and dogs entertained. There are smaller and larger kids areas with age appropriate slides and climbing equipment. Lots of seating areas in the shade to watch the kids. There is even a clubhouse with restrooms and a few pavilions with grills available for rent. On the other side of the clubhouse there are 8 new pickleball courts. “A little treasure in Hutchinson! My kids and i traveled to Hutch for Cosmosphere (totally recommend) next day wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather. Dillon Center has small indoor interactive educational area and then outdoors they have so many activities- play area for kids, pond for fishing, and nature trails. All free. One of my kids’ favorite places we stopped at.”

“Everything you'd want in a campground except shade. Clean, flat, good restroom facilities and a nice lake (pond). I got there a little before sunset and left around sunrise so shade wasn't an issue for me but it would have been if I was there more during the day. I think I was the only tent though so shade wouldn't be an issue for RVs either.”

“Grandkids current ages 3 through 8. It was hood to see a newer park planned with multiple ages in mind. I think more trees need to be planted on the western side of the play areas to provide more shade. Or, build a structure to provide shade. The playground structures heat up quickly, rendering them useless on nice sunny days.”

“Great local small town city park. There's a pavilion and plenty of pieces of playground equipment. There are a few benches some basketball goals as well as parking. Not the newest of equipment, but not in terrible shape either. Kids had fun on the slides and the actual merry-go-round. Great little park.”

“Great Lake / state park for camping and fishing. Water was shut off on October 17th, 2022 but the Marina campsites have water and electricity hookups all year round. Your odds of fishing are higher if you’re on a boat but bank fishing is doable as well if you’re using surf rods and waders. There’s a good variety of species from: Wipers, white bass, catfish, walleye, large mouth bass, crappie, etc. The campsites usually get reserved rather quickly, so if you see an open date, book it! Cabins are available for reservations too. There are two stores / bait shops at the park: one at the marina (O Brien’s) and at the west entrance of the park.”

“Recommendation in Goddard, KS. We had to make last minute reservations because weather forced us to stop New Year's Eve before we had planned. We called them while on the side of the road nearby. The woman who took our call was very friendly, professional and helpful. We were then able to add another night when freezing rain and below zero temps kept us off the road New Year's Day. Due to the extreme conditions, we ran out of propane on the 1st and they were nice enough to come out and fill our RV on the Holiday in subzero windchills and refused the tip we wanted to give them.We dealt with 3 different people and all were wonderful. In addition to all of that, they had great facilities.”

The woman who runs the campground was very friendly and available. Overall for the price worth staying and I would stay again. If you are looking for a luxury full amenities place to park your RV this isn’t the campground for you.”

“As a kid I had football practice at Brownthrush Park and have distinct memories of learning how to properly tackle and stand up to the fear of getting tackled. After practice we would head about a half block away from the park and spend time at grandma's house enjoying either dinner and definitely a guaranteed snack from grandma!”
