“We booked for Christmas Eve and Christmas night to get a nice break and be away from the commotion. I am so glad we did. The place was really perfect. We loved the kitchen layout and cooked some fancy meals. The renovation of the cabin was first class and everything worked great. It is super quiet out there. No highway noise at all! The property is nice and the stroll on the river trail was an easy walk. The hosts are super nice and helpful too. If you are looking for a bit of a higher end experience this is for you. There is enough space for a family get together. Oh and there is outdoor furniture and a fire pit so in spring and fall would be nice to sit outside and enjoy nature.”

“Our son got married at the vintage barn at midway, (gorgeous venue for a wedding by the way) which is a 10 minute drive from this quiet, secluded, beautiful slice of heaven! Amy and Mike are the most gracious and caring hosts that you will find....period! We relaxed literally sitting on chairs right in the middle of the elkhorn river, (and caught a few small mouth bass) and the peace and quite was surreal!! The cabin/house was clean and accommodating and very comfortable! I'd be very upset if i needed to stay in midway again and it was already booked!!!”

My family has been homeless for over a year now and these people and this place make us feel as at home as we can right now. The rooms are large, clean, and the views of the foothills from the upper floors especially can't be beat. “The entire experience was beyond enjoyable for me and my wife on our anniversary. Pam (the owner/ operator) was so sweet and she set the tone for the experience. The room was delightful/ just what we needed to unwind. My wife especially enjoyed the jacuzzi tub. Breakfast in the dining ‘car’ was an absolute delight. We will definitely do this again. Maybe next time we will experience a different themed room (we stayed in the London Room this time). Best anniversary ever!”

“You all made my family feel like they were the most important people on earth. First with the gourmet breakfast for my Aunt and Uncle Ralph and Lisa from Colorado, and then for the beautiful and entertaining castle tour for the rest of my family. Megan did a tremendous job as our tour guide and master photographer. Finishing up at the farm was the highlight however for all of us as that place is coming alive right before our eyes. Monica was so gracious to let us feed the animals and explore the grounds. Marybeth is the epitome of hospitality. Getting to step inside of the Tiny homes with her was the highlight for my nieces. Listening to Jason's vision for cooking and stewardship of the land gave my heart so much peace. And finally, Kristin was a ray of sunshine as her kindness towards us and love of her children was evident in her every word. It's a special place out there and instantly provided me with so much healing! Thank you for that special day. -Curt”

“This is my favorite place in the world. The people that run it would give you the shirt off their backs if you needed them. The locals that live/camp there season round are all very friendly families. Well kept clean campground. Family and kid friendly. Fishing. Primitive camping with and without electric. Plenty of RV camping. The local store does little pot lucks on Saturdays. Once a month they usually do a special event. Showers and bathrooms. Very clean, hot water. Pretty nice. My home away from home. Love this place, love the people, love the area, love the KY river.”
