With minits to spare we were met by a very friendly lady. She explained the map and campground to us. We found our camp spot Got hucked up and settled for the night. Up early and back on the rd. “We have been here for over 27 months and really have enjoyed it. Quiet and peaceful. Lots of room to walk our dog. We enjoy sitting outside by the fire pit playing cards. We have had long term and even just overnights come and everyone is like family. We hate to be leaving here. Been a wonderful place and working to get it looking beautiful. It sits off the Double AA behind a Salvage yard so some people can't see us from the road really. You have full hookups, WiFi, picnic tables, horseshoes, we even put a sandbox for the kiddos. There is storage units and even RV storage. Stop in and give us a try.. Manager and her son are helpful and all around awesome people. 😀”

“We booked the Rio Rojo last minute, and we couldn't have been happier. My wife and I camp often. Even though this was glamping, we still felt like we were able to have a camping experience. The location is perfect for access to the Daniel Boone National Park. The amenities were better than expected. And that bed!!! We can't wait to go back!”

“This is right off the freeway with easy access. Staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable about what's in the area. It is minutes from downtown activities without being bombarded with all the heyday of downtown. Right in the middle of the bourbon tours and just a few minutes walk to one of the distilleries. The rooms are super clean and very homelike. Plenty of space for us two and all our motorcycle stuff. Showers were nice and hot and powerful spray. Nice after a few days on the road. Definitely the place to stay and a great value.”

“I like coming out here to lake you can catch some of nature rarest birds I've seen the bald eagle , blue Herring,I've seen a pair of Swans I've even seen a turtle with a mustache now that was a first for me I've seen a few small Falcons there's something different every time you come out so if you get a chance come on out the people that run it is a little strange but it's a good place to come an by the way there's no rooms this is a campground”

“This campground was excellent. Set on the western side of the blue ridge mountains overlooking a great creek supplied by along the side. It is not rv friendly. However, I got in and out ok with my 27-foot Imagine. Had go divert the super tight left leaving by going up the mountain foe a mile to an easy turn around. Turkey season packs this camp.”

“The negative first. There is no water access from the campground. The water isn’t even visible. The one trail we chose to walk wasn’t maintained. If cell signal matters to you. ATT has no signal. The good, the sites were nice, level, clean as were the restrooms. It’s very peaceful and well maintained. Camp hosts were very nice.”

“We enjoyed our stay last summer (2023) at Callie’s Lake and Campground. It has a friendly, relaxed, festive atmosphere. Lots of families enjoying time together and enjoying the beautiful Red River Gorge area. The on site restaurant was wonderful, and the karaoke and live music was a nice surprise. A big thumbs up goes to the private bathrooms! They are way better than community bath setups. They were diligent about keeping them clean as well. Nice location close to The Gorge and associated activities. You’ve gotta try Miguel’s Pizza while in the area! We will definitely be back. 😊”

“We booked for Christmas Eve and Christmas night to get a nice break and be away from the commotion. I am so glad we did. The place was really perfect. We loved the kitchen layout and cooked some fancy meals. The renovation of the cabin was first class and everything worked great. It is super quiet out there. No highway noise at all! The property is nice and the stroll on the river trail was an easy walk. The hosts are super nice and helpful too. If you are looking for a bit of a higher end experience this is for you. There is enough space for a family get together. Oh and there is outdoor furniture and a fire pit so in spring and fall would be nice to sit outside and enjoy nature.”

“The village of Paint Lick might be small, but the Denny House B & B is a fantastic treasure to spend a weekend!! The common areas are beautifully decorated with antiques and furnishings. In the dining area, you'll find ice and glasses for wine or bourbon and coffee or tea. As an added bonus, the owner has a brewery on site with some really great beer on tap!! We stayed in the Travelers Porch and absolutely loved it!! It had its own staircase and just a single full-size bed, but the porch was the star of the room! Out on the full room length porch was a bench and two chairs made from bourbon barrels. The breakfast that was served was delicious, and the eggs were fresh! Everything was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!”

“We stayed here this week while on a cross country bicycle trip as a late season blast of cold air came through. The owner was friendly and offered any assistance we might need. The room was warm, quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast isn't part of the package, but the room has a microwave along with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate packs. “We had the best experience here! We have 2 little boys and we stayed at campsite 6 that backed up to the playground below. It was perfect for us to drink our coffee and watch them play every morning in a safe enclosed area. They loved gathering sticks for the fire every morning. The hookups were easy and the checkin was smooth thanks to the help we received backing in and leveling out. We walked down to the marina to a decorative little waterfall and took pictures. The boys loved playing basketball on the nostalgic goal and visiting a few locals along the walk riding their scooters. We were very pleased with the trees and beauty of the campground. Showers, bathroom and laundry were right by our site. Our only con is the sites are pretty close together where we were and our slide went into the space of our neighbor. Other than that we will continue to visit here and make memories with our boys! We rented a double decker boat with a slide from Pandora Marina for a half day and cruised around lake Harrington. Everyone here was super friendly!! We live 1.5 hours away and it was a perfect trip! See you next year!”

“NO BED BUGS! This Inn is under renovation, however it is still open. The new owners are very nice and they are willing to work with people. Prices are good and service is good. Some parts of the Inn are shut off due to construction, however it does not affect one's stay there.”
