“We came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and were happy to be seated immediately. I ordered the Early Riser with a side of pancakes and my husband had the cabin special. “We had such a great experience at Chef Hip E's. The food was so far beyond what I expected. The Gnarly Marley is seriously one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! My husband got the burrito with the drunken pork, and it came smothered in green chili sauce and crema. Just amazing! A taste explosion in every bite. The portions were huge and the service fast and friendly. We ate dinner in the shade at a picnic table, and brought our own cooler with us, since the General Store had closed at 6. They had good music playing (older rock) and the vibe was very chill. We will definitely be back!”

“The food was really good and authentic, the issue why I didn't give it 5 stars was simply because they promote a lunch buffet which was $12.99 not a bad price however they don't keep it full or anywhere close to it, there were only like 2 items besides rice and beans and everything else was empty. I was there at least an hour before the buffet was over and they only refilled one main dish, I really wanted to love it but with drink and tip costing $20 I'll pass until they can keep the buffet full.”

“20220721 Stopped by today to get my pups more chicken. The same young lady was at the drive thru. She's very nice and checked to make sure both orders are dark meat. I ordered 2 3-piece dark meat today, because my chunky pup ate all 3 pieces last night leaving none for my slender pup. Today, they are too tired to eat. I had a drumstick and it was delicious. I really like the string beans with fried onion on top. I have eaten at Bojangles in NC, SC, and VA, and dint remember the green beans being this good!! The Mac and cheese is expected... yummy! 20220720 My dogs approved! I always pick up Bojangles for my dogs whenever I'm near one. So happy to see Bojangles in KY!! The young lady at the drive thru was very nice and helpful. I ordered 3 piece dark meat, and I asked that she double check the chicken in the box to make sure it's dark meat because my dogs won't eat white meat. I didn't want to risk finding out they gave me the wrong chicken when I get back to the hotel. She was so nice to check, and one of my pups ate both pieces of thighs and the leg. 😋🐷 I had the sides as always. 🥰”

I got the fried pork chop, which came with mashed potatoes and the salad bar. Which for $13.99 was a great deal. My wife had the chicken tenders with fries, which also came with the salad bar, for the same price. My only negative was the chicken tenders were not very good. Would also love to see a bigger selection of fruit on the salad bar other than just mandarin oranges and peaches. Service was excellent, my food was much better than last time, and the price was a great deal. Will definitely come back another time. They also have a warning up not to park at the movie theater directly behind them to come eat because the owner of it loves to tow people and caused a huge issues about a year ago.”

Two of us have food allergies and the gentleman behind the counter was so kind and professional and reassured me our orders would be fried with only cornmeal and separately; he spoke to the kitchen to ensure no flour would cross into our food. Those of us with allergies and sensitivities are so appreciative of the extra steps to ensure our health and safety. Truly a hidden treasure here in Louisville and some of the best fried fish I’ve eaten in a long time. The restaurant was clean and fairly busy, few minutes to wait for your made to order. They offer a few booth seats, and couple of tables all indoors.”
