Park

“The front of the park has a rock garden area where you can climb and explore all over giant (and very beautiful) boulders. The nature trails here are well-packed dirt, very smooth. They aren't very long if you're seeking a hike, but the trails go through woods, along the water, and through a grassy wildflower meadow, so there's a lot to see. They are a nice walk for my dog who is getting older and gets tired out from long distances, and there are benches spread throughout. A great spot for kids, elderly, pets, etc.”

The Conservatory was a real treat, the plants are amazing. Next spring when the tree walk is complete we will be back with the grandkids.”

Beware if you want to sleep in. Otherwise no problem if you don't mind the bulldozers!! We feel it's a little pricey! Pool closed and with just water it was $56.00 a night.”

Sam literally drove me into town to pick up the part I needed to fix my truck. They also offered a ton of help as well as let me use some tools. This is the best campground I have ever been to. Keep up the great work guys.”

Leonard Preserve

Address: N Union St, Manchester, MI 48158, USA

Park

“My brother made me aware of this trail about a year ago, and despite walking virtually the same route each time in close to 6-7 trips, I still feel like I’m just getting familiar with the loop(s). The way it’s set up allows considerable ‘customization’ in terms of distance/terrain, although we always go the 3+ miles to get the full benefit of Leonard Preserve. Some have described it as ‘easy rolling’ terrain, but there is enough elevation to make it a good workout, and it’s a little more challenging than the leisurely stroll implied in some reviews. If you haven’t been there before, I would suggest printing a map (or using AllTrails app, or similar) to aid with familiarization. I’ve only been to the Preserve once during hunting season, and it was without prior knowledge, so for future reference, ‘know before you go’ is my advice. I’m a dog owner, but the absence of irresponsible ‘poo management’ exhibited by some dog owners on other trails in the area is a good thing in my book. Washtenaw County does a good job maintaining the trail and are to be commended.”

Groveland Oaks County Park

Address: 14555 Dixie Hwy, Holly, MI 48442, USA

Park Campground Lodging

“Really nice campground. Great for kids. They have 4 parks, a bike track, a nice beach, skatepark and small arcade. The beach is raked every morning. The only downside is they only rent boats, kayaks and bikes on the weekends. So if your staying Monday- Thursday like we did you have no access even though there's at least 40 employees working.”

Van Houten Park

Address: 6000 Silvery Ln, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127, USA

Park

“We enjoyed the wood structure. It made it a little different from all the rest. It has like 3 slides, a tire to get on, and some swings. There is a splash pad there as well.”

Lewis E Wint Nature Center

Address: 9501 Sashabaw Rd, City of the Village of Clarkston, MI 48348, USA

Park

“Wow! Our 6 year old had the BEST birthday party here. The staff went above and beyond. Friendly, organized and so creative. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves and the other parents did too. The kids crafted, learned about and got to see animals and had a blast exploring all the exhibits. Even with a bunch of routy 6 year olds they were oh so patient. We can’t wait to back and explore here, If you haven’t booked a party.. do it now! You’ll have the best time and so with your kiddo! 💕”

Depot Park

Address: 375 Depot Rd, City of the Village of Clarkston, MI 48346, USA

Pittsfield Preserve Nature Trail Area

Address: 5000-, 5482 Thomas Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48108, USA

Park

“A small trailhead with a rock parking lot, port-a-potty, old picnic table. Nicely mowed path back to the woods where the trail takes you through the woods and around an open prairie on the other side. Great for a hot days run, watch the roots and deadfall limbs.”

Wolcott Mill Farm Center

Address: 65775 Wolcott Rd, Ray, MI 48096, USA

Park

“We had so much fun! While it's a formal farm and not an actual petting zoo, pretty much every animal wanted to or let us touch them anyways! A lot to learn about for kids, no one ever actually checked our pass but if you have one with metroparks it's totally worth the trip! Kids were entertained. We packed a picnic and spend about 2 hours.”
