“On 12/16/23, we went back with our daughter's family for a holiday, all gluten-free dinner for someone with an allergy. The decorations were all up, and the restaurant looked fabulous. Our waitress Electra took good care of us all night, and we ordered drinks and shared the gluten-free crabcake and calamari in addition to wedge salads. All were delicious. For dinner, we got four different gluten-free entrees: NY strip, Filet Mignon, Duroc Pirk Chop, and the Rack of Lamb. Everyone enjoyed their dinner, and there were no allergic reactions. Excellent! Dessert was a rich chocolate flour lesson cake and Cappucinos. Overall the service and atmosphere were excellent and we will definitely dine there again. On 11/2/23 We dined at SFR for the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised. Nice old farm house with add-on offered many interesting places to sit. We opted for low seating in the bar area where we could see the piano player. Nice wine selection by the glass. Soon after being seated, hot rolls and butter were served. For an appetizer, we tried the Steak Bites, which we cooked perfectly, and came with a tasty horseradish sauce. For dinner, we both ordered seafood, my wife the scallops, and I got the Mariscada, clams, callimari, and shrimp on pasta with a lighter pesto sauce. Next time, I would ask for some garlic to be added to the Mariscada. My wife said the scallops were perfect. For dessert, we opted for the pumpkin cheesecake and Cappucinos. All we delicious. Overall, we were very pleased and will plan to visit again soon.”

I’m so glad that I found this place cause from the minute we walking in until our dinner, everything was perfect to the point. Rod‘s Tavern is the perfect place anytime of day or night…any season of the year. They currently have a fantastic winter cocktail pictured below called the Holiday Mule oh my goodness you must try it. “We stumbled upon this place after a day at the beach club. It happened to be their first day open. It was very busy, but they were handling it fantastically. We dined inside and saw all the walk-ins, the phone orders, the pickups going on. 2 guys making sushi and 2 guys manning the front. They have some kinks to iron out, but hey... it was their first day. And the sushi....very good. They tempura cooked my 2 rolls and I loved it. Also had 2 veggie rolls and 2 others. “Stopped in for lunch and they had a good selection of choices to pick from. I got the griot with sweet plantain and rice and peas. My husband likes all his food moist with sauce so we got some gravy from the chicken in sauce and it was so good. Good amount of heat in the sauce and the meat was fresh and not tough. The rice was fluffy and light and the plantains were a perfect match to the meat. We also got 2 chicken patties and 2 beef patties and they were ok. The meat to pastry ratio is off so you end up eating more pastry than meat which is disappointing. The meat had great flavor but they should make it smaller so the meat stands out more. The dough was buttery and flaky and had a good bite. Overall, it was a good experience. The customer service was a bit dry but polite. I would definitely go back to try more things and would recommend this spot for authentic Haitian food.”
