Manzano Open Space

Address: Pedregosa, Albuquerque, NM 87123, USA

Park

“This is a great place to hike. It has multiple trails, and the wildlife is amazing. Gorgeous views and beautiful sun rises and sunsets. The hike isn't very long if you're walking depending on your pace you could take half an hour or more. If you're jogging of course it is shortened. If you are not from Albuquerque NM I would not recommend just jogging this trail. You are constantly changing altitudes and if you're not used to the dry climate I suggest working your way to jogging and running. On that note, bring the kids, have fun, and enjoy the beauty of this amazing land.”

Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge

Address: 7851 2nd St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, USA

“Definitely a work in progress, but still a great place for an easy bike ride. Easy access to the Bosque and river and we saw lots of cranes and geese. The painted murals are really neat.”

Kirtland AFB RV Park

Address: 8285 F Ave SE, Albuquerque, NM 87116, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Lots of sites to choose from. We are staying on the older side where there are larger gravel sites and trees, some grass. The newer side has very long gravel sites but no vegetation. There is a playground for children and the best off leash dog area (turf with wood chips, water station, poop bags, trash cans, obstacle course) on the older side. They do not accept reservations but have a lot of sites and do not tend to fill up except for the hot air balloon festival.”

Ouray Dog Park

Address: 7500 Ouray Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120, USA

“We were visiting the area and decided to come to this dog park. It was very well kept and had lots of space. There is an area that has a doggie playground which was fun.”

Turquoise Trail Campgrounds

Address: 22 Calvary Rd, Cedar Crest, NM 87008, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“This is a wonderful RV/Campground with extremely friendly staff. We felt so welcome like we were life long friends with Autumn from the first phone call to the park intro/reg. I wish all places we stayed at had someone like Autumn. It's tucked back away from the highway so not much noise can be heard but close enough that you can get back on the road in just mere minutes in the morning. I camped only one night but we really enjoyed the ample space you are given from other campers, especially for an RV/Campground mix. Other campers were all courteous and respectful. Staff and campers were also all respectful in regards to Covid, masks were worn and social distance was in play, we felt completely safe. The only small complaints I might have is that our campground had a bit of trash that we had to pick up before we settled in. And the 5 minute showers would not be enough time if we didn't have extra tokens. Maybe even just a few minutes more like 8 minutes in total would be enough. But we understand this is due to water restrictions. However for the price this is a perfect place and if we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay without hesitation. Recommended.”

Tree Springs Trailhead

Address: NM-536, Cedar Crest, NM 87008, USA

“I am recovering from a full hip replacement and this trail was PERFECT for my leg/hip. JUST enough resistance. The trail is beautiful the ONLY thing that bummed me out was you can HEAR the road/motorcycles/traffic coming up the mountain. I REALLY wanted QUIET along with my peace, but I guess you CAN'T have it all ?‍♀️ An amazing trail!”

Canyon Estates Trailhead

Address: Tijeras, NM 87059, USA

Boca Negra Canyon

Address: Atrisco Dr NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120, USA

Park

“There is a very modest parking fee here, with 3 short trails, i would plan to spend an hour here. What is nice is that the trails take you very close to the petroglyphs. This is a good spot for kids. Unfortunately dogs aren't allowed on the trails. You are still out in the open here, so bring some water and wear some sunscreen. Closes earlier than other sites.”
