“Great place right off the highway! We stopped here for one night on our way from Michigan to Myrtle Beach and it met our needs! We stayed on the full hook ups up front so I can't comment on the bath house. Great views of Pilot Mountain! Owner was extremely helpful and friendly! The campground dogs were a treat as well!”

Beechnut Family Campground

Address: 315 Beechnut Ln, Mt Airy, NC 27030, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Needed a place to stay for one night as we were passing through in our camper conversion van. Todd was very nice and accommodating. Campground is very peaceful and beautiful with green rolling hills, a pond and ducks. Clean bath/showers with HOT water. Will definitely stay here again if ever in the area.”

Morrow Mountain State Park Campground

Address: Morrow Mountain Rd, Albemarle, NC 28001, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Feb. 2022, our 2nd stay in the Uwharrie National Forest, another small campground with electricity but no water at the individual sites, spigots around the campground. We were in loop C, site 72. Most of the camp sites had picnic table and firepit at the rear of the site, not along the side, which we found a little odd. Great trails nearby, although it was about a mile to the lake and the trailheads. Nice, big bathhouse with very hot water! While in generally good repair the bathhouse could use some fresh paint and a little TLC. Very friendly camp host who had free firewood for us. Lots of down trees and evidence of fire as we drove into the Forest, and saw the same along the hiking trails, which were well graded and marked. Some great views along the trails. Overall a great campground.”

Whip-O-Will Campground

Address: 200 Whipporwill Rd, New London, NC 28127, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“I love my home away from home. Weekends at the lake never get old.”

Mayberry Campground

Address: 114 Byron Bunker Ln, Mt Airy, NC 27030, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“It's a little noisy considering how fast off the highway it is located, but it's not obnoxiously loud. The laundry room add clean and accessible but you don't get everything dry the first time. The staff is super friendly, the spots are spacious, but not every spot has a fire ring and no pucnic tables. That wasn't a deal breaker for us as we weren't there during the day. There is cable TV spaces and non cable spaces and we choose no TV. This trip was to unplug for us. The prices were perfect. Definitely would camp here again!”

The Dotmond RV Park

Address: 2828 NC-57, Milton, NC 27305, USA

Campground Park Lodging

West Morris Mountain Campground

Address: 648 Ophir Rd #600, Troy, NC 27371, USA

“Nice secluded space to be with family and friends for a weekend. Make sure to come prepared and aware of the surroundings.”

East Morris Mountain Campground

Address: Troy, NC 27371, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“This place in itself is exceptional. One must be careful about creepy drive-by-ers, and your run-of-the-mill-dope-slinger/doers. There is also, unfortunately, now even more collections of empty alcohol containers along the road. It is more wild than most camp areas, and more straightforward, rather than some finnagled system of parking/hiking/pit toilet scramble.”

Saxapahaw Campground

Address: 1714 Petty Rd, Graham, NC 27253, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“A good friend and I decided to give this campground a try this past weekend. It is probably the cleanest campground I've ever been on... That includes the bathrooms and showers, which are top notch. The view of the dam and the river just a hundred feet away was great. Our lot included a fire pit, well maintained box grill (zero rust, etc.). The best part of the entire experience was the entire site being completely shaded, unless you spend time on the river. Mike and Luke were completely focused on the guests, which is always a hallmark of a good, private business. I cannot recommend this campground enough, and I will certainly be back!”

Parkers Creek Campground

Address: Parkers Creek Recreation Rd, Pittsboro, NC 27312, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Nov. 2021, Loop 1 #12. Parkers Creek is one of several camping areas around Jordan Lake. We found the campground very nice, easy access. The sites that we saw were all pretty level, with plenty of shade trees all around. There are a few trails that pass through or near the campground. Bath house was fine, we enjoyed our weekend there.”

KINGS MOUNTAIN POINT PICNIC PAVILION (NC) (recgovnpsdata)

Address: 398 Kings Mountain Rd, Badin, NC 28127, USA

“AWESOME!!! Best picnic tables around!!!! The squirrels can be condescending at times. Alcohol helps to ignore their comments. Just drink before you come because there are no alcoholic beverages permitted.”

Bells Island Campground

Address: 769 Bells Island Rd, Currituck, NC 27929, USA

Campground Rv park Park Lodging

“This was a great campground. Loved the tent spots, right on the water. Bill the gentleman who ran it was Awesome!! He felt bad because mother nature tried to run us off, but we rode it out. He brought us a refund and a home cooked meal. It was amazing. I would give it a higher rating if I could.”

Salem Breeze RV Park

Address: 2784 Hickory Tree Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Quiet, easy to get in and out of, great place for a night stop over. It kind of creeps up on you, we had to turn the rig around in a new development a few turns down. Also- if you leave at night it's hard to see coming back in, their sign could really use a light!”

Pop & Moms Campground

Campground Park Lodging

“My husband & I was recently traveling from West-Virginia & relocating to South Carolina. We searched for the nearest lodging places coming into North Carolina & Pop & Mom's Campground was a GREAT call. We had been tired, hungry & just needing some shut eye, so we called the given business number & not only did we get thrown off by this owners kindness for letting us park for free but also, we each showeres for free. I truly am happy to leave a kind word for this place, because these people was truly not all about the money but, being kind & understanding by helping their fellow man. Will certainly return on later trips, I highly recommend these GOOD HEARTERED FOLKS 👍😊☺🙏🏕🚘🛣🌲‼️‼️”

Cotton Patch RV Campground

Address: 41697 Gurley Rd Suite 100, New London, NC 28127, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Moved in at the beginning of August! Most (if not all) of us here are long term campers. The campground has new owners, and they're making a lot of necessary changes. We now have dog poop bags and bins, lights in important areas, the driveways are freshly lined with gravel, and the owners are extremely friendly and attentive to the needs of the residents. The campground vibe overall is quiet and calm. Most families (if not all) do not have children with them. There's a lot of talk about what's to come for Cotton Patch, so I'm excited to stick around for a while.”

Lake Reidsville Park

Address: 630 Water Works Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Very nice campground! A gem of city parks. We were in site 40 on the waterfront with W/E. We enjoyed watching all the birds and playful squirrels. Our site was somewhat level, but did require some blocks, but that’s what we carry them for! Camp hosts very friendly and helpful. Huge bundles of firewood at five dollars each. Staff leaves the office at 5:30 so it’s best to arrive prior to that. They do list reservations on the door when closed, but you don’t get the code to get out of the gate that closes at eight. Bathrooms are modern and fairly nice, with plenty of warm water, but they could’ve been a little cleaner. We felt very safe. We will stop back through. .”

Canebrake Horse Camp

Address: 616 McLeans Creek Rd, Troy, NC 27371, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Help! Do they ever clean the bathroom? Everything just looks old and crusty. But the one shower near the front was almost hot! Really nice spread out sites, we had no horses, but most everyone else did. Full on the weekend peaceful and empty during the week. Horse people all clean up after their steeds, it's a nice peaceful woodsy place. Oh and lots of trails!!”

321 RV Park

Address: 2100 H W Farm Rd, Maiden, NC 28650, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Loved this RV park. It was my home for the last 3 months while travel nursing. The sites are rather large, wifi is good and Shannon was AMAZING to work with. Each site has a concrete pad that is large and a picnic table. They also have a cute fire pit, corn hole, playground and community area. No other amenities really, but my camper is self contained so it was no big deal. Beautiful views and very quiet campground. Highly recommend!”

North River Campgrounds

Address: 256 Garrington Island Rd, Shawboro, NC 27973, USA

“We stayed here for 2 years on the long-term monthly side. We had a great experience here. If you're looking for a safe quiet place to stay make the drive. Wonderful staff, Pat, Beverly, Terri, Ryan. When you meet good people, you know and they're it. If we're back in the neighborhood, we know the way. Will miss you guys, all the best!”

Midway Campground and RV Park

“Great Campground! The spots are pretty spread out. Lot's of stuff for kids at this location. Our power box stopped working our second night at 9:30pm. My husband called and spoke to the young lady that rides the golf cart and she brought us an extension cord to hook up to another site for power. We would definitely stay again!”

NC Bowhunters Assn Campgrounds

“This is a private member-only campground. It is not open to the public.”

Oak Hollow Campground

Address: 3415 N Centennial St, High Point, NC 27265, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“I enjoyed it. Few things: They have wooded areas as well as what I call the parking lot. We were in the "parking lot" we had space to pull everything out but we also were woken up a few times by the neighbors as they were out walking around in the gravel. The sites in the wooded area you must pay attention to the map when choosing sites. Some sites were only 30 amps, some sites shared water, etc etc. The tent sites all were on individual risers. There's piers you can fish. I saw 2 playgrounds There is a bigger playground at the marina which is next to the campground . Overall I will call There again. We paid $45 a night. No late night check in but we knew that in advance and planned accordingly.”

High Rock Marina and Campground

Address: 1013 Wafford Cir, Lexington, NC 27292, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Simple. Quiet. Gravel sites close to each other. Some lake view sites. Pretty lake. Friendly owner. Lake and pier for fishing, no swimming. Boat ramp. Fairly level sites. Laundry room. Bath house. Somewhat wheelchair friendly. Basketball hoop. Small playground. First time here checking it out. Rained off and on, which kept us from being outdoors more, but it was warm and no wind, as typical for this area. North Carolina is so beautiful.”

Rolling View Campground Loop A

Address: 4201 Baptist Rd, Durham, NC 27703, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Rolling View campground is a very nice facility. We have stayed here on several outings since we purchased our Class A motorhome September 2018. It has become one of our go to place since its only three hours from our home in New Bern NC. There are nice wooded semi private sites mostly off of the Falls Lake. Roads are paved, sites are gravel with varied degrees of level. Fire rings and picnic tables are located at each site. RV sites have 30 and a 10 amp receptacles. There is also water located at each site. The general appearance of the park very pretty. It has rolling hills surrounded by beautiful hardwood forrest with lots of wildlife including birds, grey squirrels, rabbits, deer and others. It's a very peaceful, pleasant place to unwind. There is a fishing pier located on B loop. We haven't used any of the bath/shower facilities so I can't comment on those. There is a sewer dump located near the park entrance. Unless you want to do multiple setups I would highly recommend a portable potty tank for convenience. Overall I would have rate the park Five Stars. I only chose Four because 50 amp service would be a great option for units with multiple AC unit operation during very hot weather! Unfortunately, larger RVs do get quite warm with high temps but are still manageable if start cooling early morning so you can help get past the peak high temperatures.”

Jessup Mill

Address: 1565 Collinstown Road, Westfield, NC 27053, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Took my 13 year old son up here for the weekend. I’ve been wanting to check it out for some time, and the entire experience was even better than I expected. Lane runs a chill, mellow, festival - community vibe space. He was always just an email away, and spent plenty of time hanging around to make sure my kiddo and I were well taken care of. The longer river float was one of the most peaceful days spent on a river (okay - minus the appalachiarantulas lol) and the spot we camped, just on the other side of the river, was quiet and calm. Lane took plenty of time to make sure we had everything we needed, including safe places to camp and chill, dinner recommendations, and some great conversation. If you’re looking for a grassroots place to truly relax away from the hustle of state park camping, you’ve got to check this place out. We will definitely head back up to hopefully enjoy some midsummer tunes, maybe some yoga with a new yoga friend (Alicia everywhere we go, there we are!) and overall tap into the mellow nature that surrounds the land and the spirit of Jessup Mill. Thanks for such a great time you guys!”
