“Update: We have taken our little girl several times to visit her friends over the past several months. Due to lots of heavy rains wasn’t able to make it weekly, however we go as often as possible. Most recent being last Sunday. I do advice to be sure to bring a water bowl and water, the babies definitely need their water while playing so vigorously with their buddies! Original post: My pup really enjoys herself at the park and meeting up with her pup friends! We stay for about 90 minutes to 2 hours and she is tired for the next day or so! Other half delivers for his job nearby and told me about the park. We come to Oregon every weekend from our home in Washington (by Olympia) and decided last week to see how our little girl does with other dogs and in a dog park setting. She loves it and loves visiting her friends! We have went 2 weeks in a row and plan to make it a weekly adventure for her.”

Wapato Lake National Wildlife Refuge

Address: 104 Onion Ln, Gaston, OR 97119, USA

Park

“Nice place to see wildlife. We walked both levee trails as far as they were open. We saw a variety of birds, including some harriers. We heard chorus frogs the whole time. There is evidence of beaver activity. The trail to the bridge is paved. The trails beyond the bridge are graveled. The trails follow the levee to the right and left. The trail to the right follows Wapato Creek and Hwy 47. It is a bit noisy due to highway traffic. There is one bench near the end of the open section of trail. The sign at the gate says it is closed due to levee repairs and goose hunting on private land. The creek and levee embankment have a lot of debris including a boat and a canoe. The trail to the left is quieter. It also follows the creek. The parking lot is not signed. The entrance is across hwy 47 from Park Street. There are two paved handicapped spaces. The rest of the lot is gravel. Parking appears to be free. There is a sign posted with a map and information. A free brochure is available which contains a map. An restroom with a pit toilet is provided. It was reasonably clean. Dogs are not allowed on the trails. Also, bicycles and jogging are prohibited. There is a cafe across the street from the parking lot. It appears to be closed Mon. & Tues.”

Spongs Landing County Park

Address: 6525 22nd Ave N, Keizer, OR 97303, USA

Wilsonville Tauchman House

Address: 31240 SW Boones Ferry Rd, Wilsonville, OR 97070, USA

Park

“I've convinced myself it's possibly haunted. I was at the park and it was deserted. No one parked anywhere, no maintenance workers anywhere around like they normally are. I was walking around the house's porches looking into the windows and just trying to kill some time. I turned away from the window and walked to the top step and sat down in the shade. Behind me, inside the house, I heard distinct footsteps on floorboards. About 6 steps that were distinctly loud. I got to my feet and stood there in silence trying to see if I could hear any other activity but that was it. I had to double-check to make sure I was alone...such a weird and cool experience.”

Bornstedt Park and Splashpad

Address: 19383 Pine St, Sandy, OR 97055, USA

Park

“Excellent park that's great for families. Has a splash pad, playground, a few picnic tables (some covered), a good sized field, and community garden. There's bags for dog poop and trash cans, so it stays pretty clean. The city has a porta-potty there in the late spring - early fall. There's also a Pokemon Go stop and Ingress Portal there for those that play. Every once in awhile someone comes through on motorized scooters or dirt bikes, but it's rare enough the police never catch them.”

Galen McBee Airport Park

Address: 375 SE Armory Way, McMinnville, OR 97128, USA

Park

“This is and always has been one of my most favorite parks in Mac. It's generally a pretty peaceful place. And it is always beautiful no matter what season it is. I love that I can take my little doggo, they have poo bags available if you forgot yours at home and there's garbage cans at the parking lot. There's also picnic tables if you want to have a snack. There's not really a playground but I do know that kids love to visit the giant mushroom that you can go into like a little house :)”

Rooster Rock State Park

Address: Corbett, OR 97019, USA

Park

“This place is absolutely gorgeous! Granted, it was a windy fall day during this visit, but incredible nonetheless. Lots of mountain cliffs, trees, tall grasses, rocks and sandy beach. So many visual textures. I can imagine this being a great place for a beach day, family picnic or even a casual wedding. Parking is abundant, coastline is abundant; I’m not sure about toilets (I didn’t have to go..) but, this is absolutely going to be a place to visit all seasons of the year.”

Renne Park

Address: 699 S School St, Newberg, OR 97132, USA

“I don't know what they usually do at this park. It seems like it's just a big empty filled with dead grass. It looks like there might be a track around it? we came here for the old fashioned festival looked we looked at the scout expo and the fairgrounds and also went to the parade and booths at memorial Park around the corner we watched cover band play before the fireworks at 10. It was great.”

“I have driven by here many times and now for the first time I decided to park and in ale a walk!!! The only disappointment I had was running out of time and having to go back to work! For me first experience visiting here it turned out to be a beautiful overcast day that wasn’t too cold and it stopped raining 🌧. I loved seeing the habit and the ducks 🦆 were surely energetic as well! Dog friendly park which makes another reason to come back with them. They have bags and trash 🗑 receptacles throughout the park.”

Hillsboro parks and rec host many of their summer sport camps here. Only issue is if you handicap prepare for a mildly lengthy journey to the play structure or sand box with your child. Easy access if your going to water park or basketball courts.”

“A What a hidden gem. It’s such a beautiful park. Highly recommend! I bet during sunshine it’s even better. A river is flowing next to it and I think you can make a walk around it. Many benches and tables are around. Cool spot.”

Waluga Park - East

Address: 15505 Quarry Rd, Lake Oswego, OR 97035, USA

“Visited this park for the first time today. It looks like there's a lot of other fun amenities for families but what we came for was called the quarry. This is a portion of the park that is a bike track that has a variety of skill paths available. My 10-year-old and I enjoy going back over and over again to ride the different runs. There are green, blue and black level runs so something for every skill level. Very family friendly environment.”
