“This is a city cemetery. It’s Bastrop Texas’ cemetery. I can recommend this cemetery. The process to purchase a plot is simple. It is a cemetery that has been there since the days of Indian raids. The first burials had armed persons on guard in case Indians attacked during a burial. It is well kept and quiet now. You can place a concrete curb around your plot if you want to. You can place benches and ornaments also. I have to say I like this cemetery very much since I bought a space in it for me many years ago. I’ll be next to a grass walkway to my left, in front of my feet will be the road and a water faucet to my right and next to the road, just a few strides away will be a great white gazebo. I have sat in the gazebo and looked over the cemetery and my plot and it is a comfortable place to rest. I will have a simple military marker of white marble and no wife or children or any other relatives in the entire cemetery. I can be buried with my cat but he died before me and I buried him in back of my house. I would have to have him disinterred and cremated to be buried with me. No one wants my house after I’m gone so I don’t know what to do with him.”

“Best school in Bastrop, and probably all of central Texas. If you live in Bastrop, you really have no idea how lucky you are, unless you happen to train already at Insight, and then you already know... And I say this as a guy who owns another gym in Central Texas. We are fortunate enough to train with Insight and their affiliate in elgin regularly. This place cant be beat, in terms of: Facilities, people, instruction, competition, or atmosphere. If you are on the fence about trying insight and/or trying out BJJ , just go ahead and jump over that fence to Team Insight, you can thank me later.”

“This is such an amazing restaurant, with some true angels running the store. I had ordered some tacos for my sons Christmas party at school through door dash. Door dash unfortunately was not able to find someone to pick them up to deliver them to his school. I called Laredo taco company and told them of my issue. The amazingly sweet staff delivered it to my sons daycare for me since I was at work. They are true angels and helped me with this catastrophe that was brought on by door dash. Delicious tacos, amazing staff! If you ladies Are reading this thank you so much for helping this momma out!”

He was able to work in our refinishing job (original 1950's thin plank wood floor) within a week of contacting him as we were on a tight deadline to move out of our rental and into our new home. We wanted a very natural look - sanded to original grain and water-based sealant - and he suggested a great product and was totally on board with our vision. “This nursery is my favorite. The prices are the best anywhere, and the plants are excellent. Where else can you buy a big healthy rose in a 3-gallon container for $25? The selection is great too. It's a small nursery, but I find more here than I do at big nurseries. I do a lot of research to find out what kind of plants grow well in my area, and which are great plants. The problem is, a lot of them aren't for sale at local nurseries. But they're for sale here. Also, it's owner operated, and the owner knows his plants, and he's honest. It's called Dirt & Roses, but it sells a lot of different plants in addition to roses, and it doesn't have a dirt yard anymore.”

I got a pepperoni pizza last night, and it was literally the most perfect pep pizza (good amount of sauce and cheese, pep was a little crispy but not incinerated lol)! They’re always swamped when I go in, so I don’t mind the wait sometimes. They have a good team right now! “Quaint little park just outside of downtown Elgin. Baseball, basketball, and a playground in the middle of a very nice green space. I'm glad the town has preserved this little spot from development. I enjoy stopping here to stretch my legs while on a long drive or just a nice day.”

“Fun, little museum specializing in the history of Bastrop and Bastrop county. My favorite part was seeing the arrowheads from any from 8000 BCE -1800CE and learning more about how the city was impacted by WW2. Very friendly staff.”
