Raymond E. Shaffer Community Park

Address: 7806 NE 58th St, Vancouver, WA 98662, USA

Park

“Amazing place to take your dogs for a walk. As someone who has a mildly reactive dog, this place is amazing and gives plenty of room to move/run your dogs around in. Be careful of the thorns though”

Allyn Waterfront Park

Address: 18560 WA-3, Allyn, WA 98524, USA

Park

“Small park on the water. Nice dock. Parking lot is dirt and not maintained very well. Covered area available. Close to downtown shops.”

Whipple Creek Regional Park

Address: 17202 NW 21st Ave, Ridgefield, WA 98642, USA

Park

“Whipple creek regional park is a delightful place to visit either for a hike or a trail ride. If you do Hike, please remember to be mindful of the horses as riders trail through the park. The park is beautiful, and usually a few degrees cooler due to the cluster of trees and the stream. It's a good place for a picnic, or just a hike to clear your head. The paths are clearly marked, with multiple maps to direct you. Naturally, this park is out in nature, so expect bugs, expect uneven trails, expect to see some manure, and expect some up/down hill walking. The only concern I have with this park is the lack of care specifically dog owners have. Often, you'll see dog owners leaving poop bags behind or letting their dog off the leash, putting everyone in danger. I've seen dogs run up on the horses, which can cause incredibly dangerous situations. Please make sure you leash your pets.”

Fisher Creek Park

Address: 7805 Fisher Ave SE, Snoqualmie, WA 98065, USA

Park

“Great play area for older kids. Public restroom. Very limited parking; large vehicles will be problematic. (*situated at entrance to a residential area). Access to walking/bike trails.”

Centennial Trailhead At Machias Park

Address: 1626 Virginia St, Snohomish, WA 98290, USA

Park

“I like Centennial Trail over Burke Gilman and Sammamish River trail because of less traffic and quiet in woods. This spot, Machias Trailhead, is located between Snohomish and Arlington Trailhead. I usually stop here for using a restroom and refilling water. We bike there on 6/3, 2023. The water fountain was not working. I hope it will be fixed soon.”

Ironwood Park

Address: 36200 SE Isley St, Snoqualmie, WA 98065, USA

Park

“Absolutely stunning views, fun for children and adults alike.”

Anderson Lake State Park

Address: 1061 Anderson Lake Rd, Chimacum, WA 98325, USA

Park

“The entrance was a little difficult to find from the road, but once we turned in, it was a nice, clear drive with well-marked parking for horse trailers closer to the road and cars deeper in, on the north side of the lake. A discover pass or day pass is required for parking. Unfortunately, there is a possibility of toxic algae right now, so there is no lake access. The trails are clear, but not paved, so hiking up the hills and gaining elevation is not recommended for those with mobility issues. Near the entrance, however, there are flat trails that may be more accessible. I was disappointed with the provided map that may need to be updated and trail markings that are so worn they were not useful. That wide, it is a great park for some light-to-moderate hiking, even though we accidentally turned onto a different trail and ended up taking the higher route around the lake instead of meeting back up with the one we started on to just head back down the way we came 😂 As for wildlife, there were some red squirrels and a lot of small birds near the clearing of the grave site. As for plants, if you take the elevated trail that goes along the east side of the lake, you will be surrounded by what feels like an infinite fern forest, which I personally loved. The rock is also super cool to see. If you want to go to the rock sanctuary, it is not in the park, but there is a trail leading to it. I suggest you study a satellite image and get your bearings beforehand or go to the entrance for that trailhead.”

“This is an excellent restoration area that contains a section of Silver Creek. It appears a lot of work went into restoring this area to its natural state. It is a healthy riparian ecosystem. There is a stone/dirt path that traverses the preserve. There is a wooden bridge. There are interpretive signs. It is a portion of the Puyallup Loop from Clark Creek. There is no parking or facilities. It is an excellent preserve and am grateful some people put in a lot of work.”

Wildcat Trailhead (Green Mountain)

Address: 10810 NW Holly Rd, Bremerton, WA 98312, USA

Park

“I really enjoyed this trail, and found it incredibly challenging, but that might have been because the weather was 80° on the day I went. There's lots of lose rocks and pretty steep inclines at certain points so it's definitely a hike you want to wear good shoes for and don't expect a leisurely stroll through the woods. There's also several side hikes and at times the trails aren't marked so gps is helpful.”

Garden d’Lights

Address: 12001 Main St, Bellevue, WA 98005, USA

West Fenwick Park

Address: 3808 S Reith Rd, Kent, WA 98032, USA

Park

“The playground is close to a busy street but (and this is awesome) it has a fence to block children from the street. Something about the playground design made it so that i didn’t even have to worry about my toddler going to the parking lot let alone go to the street. All the slides pointed to the open field and going up to the fence was an uphill battle, literally. But once your kid goes up the small hill there are several slides that guide them down and send them to a whole lot of fun, like, some fun blocks and a rainbow road that’s fun for all ages. The toboggans are way too cool. We also, caught the Kent parks department laying out some amazing activities. This park is a must.”

Sprinker Recreation Center

Address: 14824 C St S, Tacoma, WA 98444, USA

Park

“Took the grandkids (4 & 6) ice skating for their first time. The employee working the skate rentals at the time (Gabby) was an amazing helper with my youngest granddaughter. She assisted her in getting comfortable with standing on the ice & moving around being on the skates. Comfortable enough so she could then go on with the assistance of the scooter. She was great in talking & helping the kids. They felt very comfortable with her .”

Sierra Park

Address: 19020 80th Ave W, Edmonds, WA 98026, USA

Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens

Address: 145 Alverson Blvd, Everett, WA 98201, USA

Park

“Wonderfully curated arboretum. Easy parking and access. Very peaceful. Brought my partner here and was impressed by all the different foliage that was thriving within this little spot. The art installations were quite nice as well! Definitely visit if you're in the area!”

Centennial Viewpoint Park

Address: 532-, 2098 Mountain View Dr SW, Auburn, WA 98001, USA

Park

“Small scenic viewpoint of Mt Rainier tucked away next to a cemetery. It’s not a large location, so I imagine it can get crowded quickly. I came early in the morning, so no one was around. Nevertheless it was a nice view!”
