I was able to walk around the grounds and take in the beauty. As I was about to leave, a member was kind enough to open the doors for me to explore inside. He was also very responsive and kind to questions. Inside of the temple is clean and well kept. It’s honestly breathtaking. I thoroughly enjoyed visit and would recommend to other curious, respectful visitors.”

“We enrolled our 7 year old daughter in religious school in the fall of 2019 and subsequently joined the Girl Scouts that are held at Temple as well. My daughter loves girls scouts and has embraced the Jewish lessons and songs. She is making good friends there and feels a sense of belonging. I appreciate that the temple is so welcoming of interfaith families. Furthermore the rabbi is about the warmest person one could ever hope to meet, and everybody there is friendly and helpful. To the reviewer that said no one said a word to her, do try again during a Saturday service. If you initiate conversation you’ll likely be met with a friendly response.”

This warm, egalitarian, participatory community has been operating for nearly 50 years (now in its 4th location and sharing space at the Washington Ethical Society). It is a classic - indeed pioneering - "havurah." Visitors are welcomed to services held Saturday mornings at 9:30. Holiday services are also held, times and sometimes locations vary. Services are mainly in Hebrew; Torah discussion (in English) is a highlight. Shabbat services are over just after noon followed by kiddish. Please check the website as on rare occasions services are held elsewhere.”
