“Took the family out in March '22 to SB Cove and had a great time in our little pop-up camper. We got lucky and was able to grab a spot right on the water front. Bring a shovel to help level your campers. You don't need a 4x4 to get to this area and we saw some smaller cars as well. There was a little bit of wind but nothing outrages. We saw a few people catch a lot of fish! Just make sure you buy your Tonto pass before you head out here just in case the kiosk doesn't work and to save a couple of bucks. The 2 bathrooms here were really clean and had absolutely no smell when we used it. You can access the restrooms by hiking back up away from the water.”

Spur Cross Ranch Conservation

Address: 44000 N Spur Cross Rd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331, USA

Park

“This is a great hike! In the winter, Cave Creek actually has water in it. Hike is very easy going and there are a couple of loops to choose from. Pets are allowed, just pick up after them. The kids all had a great time. This is a terrific spot nearby that everyone in the family can enjoy. There's horse riding available. I didn't get the prices, but lots of people were doing it. I think they were using horses on the Elephant trail, which is one that goes into the mountains that is not maintained. I had a great time. It's a fun and relaxing walk with amazing sunsets. Right now in the winter time it's not too hot. It's a perfect time to take everyone in the family out for a nice walk. I would choose this over other trails because it's great for the novice hiker.”

Valencia Park

Address: 634 N Quail, Mesa, AZ 85205, USA

Park

“This park is decent. It has off-street parking that accommodates 15-20 cars In front of the parking lot is the playground and 2 ramadas. To the right of the playground is volleyball court and then the basketball court.. There is a sidewalk that connects all those elements which is nice, and i also saw a water fountain. There's unfortunately no restrooms. To the left of the playground, there is a little sidewalk that I think makes a loop around the park. To the left of that sidewalk is a grassy area that you can run on. The grass is nicely mowed and cleaned. Overall, neat layout. One thing I didn't like is how the park was close to the power lines.”

Petersen Park

Address: Southern Ave. and, S Priest Dr, Tempe, AZ 85282, USA

Park

“Tempe did an amazing job renovating this park and I take my family here frequently (4-5 times a week when the weather is nice). The size makes it easy to keep an eye on the kids as they play, but you have to be careful little ones don’t wander off through the Oleanders into the adjacent alleyway. Be mindful of the time you go as you will likely encounter folks experiencing houslessness in the mornings, so if that is a concern, visit mid-day and onward.”

Nichols Park

Address: 700 N Higley Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234, USA

Park

“Nice location, yellow grass in the winter months but green during the summer. Some families that visit leave their garbage here :( We try to clean up every time we go there. Other than that it's nice.”

Pecos Park

Address: 17010 S 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85048, USA

Park

“The park has a few years on it so somethings could use some repairs like the rubber cement but overall its still very nice. There's only one way into the area and it's not the most accessible but not unreasonable considering it's location. My kids loved it but even on a 90 degree day the pool and splash pad were off. The sun sails provided good shade. Would go again.”

Horseshoe Campground

Address: Rio Verde, AZ 85263, USA

Campground Lodging Park

“Had a great time camping and fishing here, had to do a little cleaning up but for the most part there are some nice camp sites here. It a little out of the way the road is a little bumpy but that keeps a lot of people out. The water here is a lot warmer than below Bartlett lake.”

Sonoran Desert RV Park

Address: 800 S Butterfield Trail, Gila Bend, AZ 85337, USA

Campground Rv park Lodging Park

“Stayed here for 2 nights in November in my travel trailer. Super super happy with this campground. Sites are very spacious and you don’t feel like your packed in on top of each other like some RV resorts. There are tons of amenities like laundry, car wash, dog wash, showers, dog park, pool and the common theme through the entire campground is now clean everything is. Staff was incredibly nice too. Little traffic and plant noise from the road but considering everything else Would definitely stay here again!”

Jackrabbit Park (PHX)

“Jackrabbit Park is a fantastic destination for families and anyone who loves spending time outdoors. The park boasts large grass fields that are perfect for a game of frisbee or tag, as well as a fun play structure that will keep kids entertained for hours. One thing that makes Jackrabbit Park stand out is its open and spacious layout. Unlike some parks that can feel cramped or overcrowded, Jackrabbit Park provides ample room to run and play, with plenty of shade trees to keep visitors cool on hot days. The play structure highlights the park, offering a range of fun and engaging activities for kids of all ages. From slides and swings to climbing walls, there's something for everyone. The structure is also well-maintained, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all who use it. The grass fields are another major draw of Jackrabbit Park. Whether you're looking to kick a ball around with friends or relax with a picnic lunch, the vast greenery provides a peaceful and inviting setting. And if you're in the mood for a bit more physical activity, the open fields are perfect for a game of catch or frisbee. Jackrabbit Park is a beautiful destination that offers something for everyone. Butler Park

Address: 8579 N 57th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85302, USA

Park

“My review of Butler Park. This is a sweet little park. Street parking only. No bathrooms, water fountain works and has a pet watering trough as well. It has new play equipment and the play area is filled with wood chips. There are 5 stone picnic benches scattered along the dirt walking path with one large covered picnic ramada in the back. I saw no grills. There is a basketball court in which the basket balls dont always get free of the net. And a small grassy field with large evergreen elm trees providing lots of shade. It's a sweet neighborhood park.”

Gene Autry Park

Address: 4125 E McKellips Rd, Mesa, AZ 85205, USA

“This is a nice little park with what looks like a mini police training facility to climb a fence/wall. Of course you got the array of plans landing on falcon field so if your into plane watching that’s a bonus.”

Kings Park

Address: 8520 N 47th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85306, USA

Park

“Kings Park is great! Lots of room for activity’s that inspire being outdoors. This park is in a neighborhood that dose not have a parking lot so you must park long the road, “stay cautious for cars driving by.” All in all bring water and later up with sunscreen and great work out there!”

Skyline Park

Address: 655 S Crismon Rd, Mesa, AZ 85208, USA

Falcon Hill Park

Address: 7222 E Jensen St, Mesa, AZ 85207, USA

Park

“Large park with great playground. If you don’t like sand, this ain’t the park for you. Luckily my toddler loves sand. Lots of shade for parents and families, multiple pavilions with park benches. Grassy area to run around or relax in. LOTS of shade. This park doesn’t have its own parking lot and is surrounded almost entirely by houses which is great for me because I’m not concerned about my kids running in the street. Playground is located centrally in the park. The playground itself is not covered by shade but the surrounding areas are.”
