“This is a tent camping grounds. Everything is walking from the parking lot. A Lake Tahoe beach is right across the road. It's high season right now August 1st. Lots of tourists, I guess I'm one of them too! Had a lot of interesting evening activity last night there was an adolescent brown bear who is smelling all the treats that the campers had left out and came into the campgrounds poached the bag of chocolate almonds from one group. He hung around for probably 45 minutes or more. I retrieve the campground host he came with his air horn and over the course of another 30 minutes was able to slowly hurt the bear back into the forest. As with most national Forest service parks there are toilets and water besides are in the national Forest. We are in drought season, very bad. So no fires of any sort.”

“Very pretty area. We saw some of the infamous purple flowers. Nice contrast with the oak. Went jet skiing and plenty of proper markers indicating hazards. Well taken care of area. Really pretty area overall also. Mostly safe, some little land islands exposed. Water levels great. Busy busy but it was memorial day weekend. boat launches easy to use. Great lake overall Visited the campground showers- only quarters accepted. $1.00 for 10 mins. clean and private showers.”

“Was given 1 Comp night per week because I use my rewards card at each game I play. They also give free gifts if you have a rewards card. The gifts are very impressive! My friend and I had such a great time we spent time at the pool which was very clean & well maintained. The room was huge and so beautiful we were treated like first class patrons. “This was perfect for our overnight, I have two big kids but the room option with king size bed and a small side room with a bunk bed was perfect for the three of us without being too expensive and still providing some level of privacy. Definitely when I come visit my sister up this way, this will be the perfect option for us. The breakfast was also quite good with lots of options and hot food as well, and a number of juices. The staff was very accommodating when we needed to find some late night milk for my son, they were very willing to be helpful. They were also quite helpful in making our check out easier. Because of this great king size and bunk bed room option, I'll definitely be looking out for this option at this location and other holiday Inn express locations.”

“Dayna is fantastic. Several of my family members have gone to her and I finally went the other day. All I need was a quick trim and a refresh on my hair. She was quick, friendly and super affordable. The little salon she works in is pretty standard of the buildings in the area and can be slightly deceiving, but the inside is cute and comfortable. I would get my hair cut by her again and would recommend her to anyone looking for a hidden gem in tiny Duvall.”

“The girl at the front desk goes out of her way for every single guest. During my interaction she helped me find somewhere to eat, and then she left and the next girl came on, she was struggling and called the first girl and patiently helped her with the problem. I overheard the conversation she was at dinner with her family but she answered the phone and helped the girl at the desk. I don’t know if she’s a manager or what but her service was extremely extraordinary. I stay at choice hotels a lot and I will definitely be returning to this hotel when I come back around! The rooms were nice, still renovating a little but the upgrades are very nice! The canvas in the room was absolutely beautiful. The cooler wasn’t set up yet but it looks nice”

“My daughter, granddaughter and I had an amazing stay at Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge. We stayed in one of the two bedroom suites on the second floor with a balcony facing the lake. Immediately upon entering the suite and seeing how beautiful the rooms were and the amazing view of Lake Tahoe from the living room/dinning room, we walked back to the front office to extend our stay from 1 night to 2 nights. We took advantage of the kitchen and cooked both breakfast and dinner two days. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. We also enjoyed using the fireplace each night as we were not used to the cold nights. The women at the front desk was very helpful in extending our stay upon our request and also helped to give us suggestions of paved walks that we could take the baby in a stroller. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for an amazing place to stay in Tahoe Vista!”

“"Planning my summer roadtrip, and everyone said it was impossible to get a campsite in Tahoe, CA during the summer. Rec.gov makes booking easy and 3 days before I left, I scanned sites near the lake and booked my campsite using their phone app for Android. The campground is directly across the street from the West Shore Market (great for snack gathering & outdoor people watching) and the bike path that circles the lake, perfect for an afternoon walk. Arriving on Sunday, I followed the weekend crowds and had a pretty mellow site with a large tent spot #42. By late afternoon, a friendly group of 12 year old boys and their families began the time -occupying tradition of dead tree chopping and I lost any hope of seeing a bear. The campground has over 80 sites and is very family friendly. RVs, campers, tents, and even a few hammocks - everyone can make this land by the lake their home. Thanks Ed - no bear sighting this time!"”

“The main entrance was lovely and the person taking us on a tour was very nice. We're looking for a 3bed, 2(+1/2 if possible) bath, w/a large balcony. The almost have what we're looking for, but the layouts make it look & cause it to be small in the main area, as well as a smaller kitchen. I asked if the closets were done with shelving & hanging & he said yes, but when I saw them for myself, all they had was hanging wire type around the walls of the closet, (can put something on top of the wire hanging part), but no REAL shelves or any other kind of organization other than the hanging. We were disappointed. Parking for individual units is NOT offered, even for handicap. There are elevators, but having parking We can depend on, due to my spine condition causing my handicap situation is extremely important. I wasn't told anything about possibly making some kind of arrangement for me to have something like that so I'd be able to live there without additional hassle or stress. It became apparent that my request for that was a no go from the start. I'm very flexible, so most compromises could possibly have worked. We did like it there, but we doubt it would work for us. I would recommend it to others for sure! We just have issues with it that cause us to look at other places.”

“What a great hotel experience. Our room was clean and cozy, the staff was polite and helpful, and the breakfast provided was great. I liked that they switched up the menu so we didn't have exactly the same thing for our three day stay. The fitness center was clean with nice equipment. Pool is small and there's no hot tub but does the trick. Oh they also have complimentary soft fresh cookies at the counter throughout the day. This is a safe booking, they'll take good care of you!”

“Really needs a lot of tender loving care. This resort can be SO MUCH BETTER. The location is golden, the beach space is the only one of it's kind in this area, the views are breathtaking but the rooms leave very little to get excited about . Resort could easily be 5 stars if their rooms were very much updated and improved. There have very sterilize feel and look to them. Rooms are functional. The location is everything which is why I keep coming back year after year. Seeing that you're in the mountains a deep soak spa tub would be HEAVEN after a full day of being outdoors especially during the winter months when the hot tub and sauna are closed for the season. The NEW STAFF IS GREAT!! SO RELIEVED THEY GOT RID OF THOSE OLD, GRUMPY FOLKS who used to manage it before. Some SERIOUS financial investigations should take place to see WHERE all the owner's maintenance fees were going because it SURE AS HELL WASN'T TO THE RESORT. YAY FOR CHANGE, HOPE IS ON THE HORIZON !”
