Deer Creek Hills Access Road

Address: Latrobe Rd, Rancho Murieta, CA 95683, USA

Park

“Great spot for outdoor recreation. I’ve heard it has a river running across it in the winter/spring but when I went it was dry. I see reviews from people who say they have solid 4x4s (not awd, but true 4wd), that are saying the road is nearly impassible. Maybe it is a seasonal thing. But some of my friends are Sacramento born-and-raised 4wheelers, and this trail is a local favorite and not particularly challenging. In the right season you could probably even get through it with AWD or even 2wd if you have decent ground clearance. Hell, Joshua tree had more serious obstacles and I did that in my bone stock 2011 wrangler unlimited without issue and even linked up with a guy doing it in a modded wrx. I went in June, as a novice and had no issues in my wrangler with a 3” lift (see pictures) At no point did I even think “thank god for my lift”. It was just good to get some dirt on the tires and see some nature! If you want more of a challenge there are more rugged sections of trail that loop off of the main road. So you could even use this to build skill or test your rig out. At the end of the day it is off-roading; it is 4 wheeling; it is fun; but it ain’t no rubicon.”

C-Bar-C Park

Address: 8275 Oak Ave, Citrus Heights, CA 95610, USA

“I was there to take my 40lb, 5 month old puppy to the dog park! Dog parks are great for getting puppy energy out! C-Bar-C Park has separate areas fenced off for small and large dogs! It was Great to let my pup off leash to run and play with other dogs!!! It pooped her out! Before we left there were probably 20 large dogs running around! Most owners were very good at refereeing their dogs, which kept the atmosphere fun! I recommend the C-Bar-C Dog Park!”

Their vegan sandwich was perfectly assembled, and the service was as expected at a fast food deli. The service staff asked us whether we would still like the free cookie as It was not vegan. Smart folks! Appreciate their critical thinking.”

I enjoy this Park very much but there is a very uneasy feeling of rejection displayed by the individuals who live in the surrounding houses. This fact that ⁷⁸ car is much outdated and it clearly catches the eye. However, the reaction”

David A. Simpson Park

Address: 9565 Crisswell Dr, Elk Grove, CA 95624, USA

Park

“It's a great park, emphasis on the park because the playground is sort of small. But, if you have small kids and/or dogs, it's perfect. There are also tennis courts, basketball ball hoops, and a baseball field. There is an area for soccer but the nets are in bad shape or are missing. I'd give it 5 stars if it were better maintained, the trash was emptied regularly (it's not) and the grass wasn't so muddy. There are a lot of mature trees that brings a ton of shade but, as a result, there is poor drainage and is typically muddy.”

“This park is clean and spacious. There's lots for the kids to climb and explore. There's also plenty of space to be socially distant during this pandemic. While we were here on a Saturday afternoon, there was a party, a group of teens playing with water guns, and a couple of guys practicing on the soccer field. It doesn't seem to get too busy.”

Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary

Address: 403 Stafford St, Folsom, CA 95630, USA

Zoo Park

“Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful sanctuary. Great number of animals in large cages. Fun to watch the bear eat the eggs off the rocks and chomp through an artichoke. There are loud peacocks and quiet deer wondering around. And they recently added a barn which is a good addition. We saw a group of kids there doing crafts and were off to clean a cage and learn about caring for the animals, so that is something they offer.”
