“This place is so beautiful I don’t even know where to start. The views are amazing, the arcade is so awesome and the beds super comfy. The house is huge and fit my large family and friends nicely and we all had our space so we didn’t feel on top of each other. Kitchen was beautiful and fully stocked with tools to cook with as well as dishes so no need to be remembering paper plates and utensils. The deck was so nice and and big and peaceful and the kids wanted to spend all day playing outdoors while I could just sit there and watch them without chasing them all over. Lots of activities provided like frisbee golf, corn hole, a big connect 4 and some other stuff I can’t remember. There’s a jacuzzi tub that lights up at night, which was super fun and nice especially if you spend a day of hiking up the trails. Cutest set up and the hosts were so nice and helpful. The home was extremely clean and inviting. I would recommend staying here if you’re in town and have a big family or a couple families staying together. Especially great if you appreciate nature. We used it as a staycation and it felt like a nice vacation away from home even when we live only a few miles. Definitely give this mountain retreat a go if you are on the fence. These hosts also have a ranch home pretty close by that’s beautiful as well. Haven’t stayed there yet but you can tell they put a lot of work into making sure there’s something for everyone!”

“This was my husband and my first time here. As we pulled up on the Harley we were greeted right away by Mike who was very friendly and welcoming. Mike even went as far as clearing out a space by the house to park the Harley! We then walked up to the main house and met Laura who was very welcoming and friendly as well and asked us if we needed anything. Mike showed us to our room which was warm, stocked with soft and thick toilet paper, makeup remover towels, q-tips, a hair dryer, plates, silverware, utensils, a keurig with good flavored creamers and 2 waters. The heater that looks like a fireplace works well and was cozy. The bed and sheets were comfortable and the room was clean. My favorite part was the open tavern stocked with liquor, all kinds of snacks from chips to cookies to candy bars to Klondike bars, sodas, beers, juice, cups, frozen white castle burgers and burritos! The best part it was open all night long. Our room was by the pool and the pool is even designed with fish in the tiles, cute but too cold to swim. The Inn is walking distance to town. This place did not skimp on any details and we will be back again for sure. The price was fairly reasonable and worth it compared to other motels/hotels in Julian that only give you a room for the same cost. We will be back and we appreciated the hospitality! This is a must see and stay motel!!”

“I found this retreat in a time of needeing exactly this, a simple beautiful place where I could rest, cleans and not feel pressured to be or do too much. Memo is a great spiritual counselor and everyone who's taking care of the land are amazing people. Their juicing therapy is great and tasty. the land is like a warm mom taking care of you.The entire time i felt at home and taken care. I enjoyed my room, the hot tubs, the evenings in front of the fire having spiritual discussions and playing music. I met amazing people that like me were there to rest and repleninsh. Their yoga istructor was great as well and so the crystal sound meditation Memo's wife did for the group. Love this place!”

“I stayed here for three months while working in San Diego and I feel like I got so lucky finding this place! The house and the garden are absolutely beautiful, and the family is wonderful. I felt immediately at home in this space. The location is convenient to the highway and only a short drive to essentially anywhere you want to go in the area. Jinger and family are so kind and were flexible when I was unsure about my job situation which was immensely helpful. I will definitely be back here my next time in SD!! (And you should too ;) )”

“My boyfriend and I liked staying here they surprisingly have a complimentary breakfast , It's quiet and the price was cheap. It's really close to the trolley you can ride it south for a day trip to Mexico or north to discover different parts of San Diego. We had aN easy check in and had no Complaints. Would definitely recommend it to a friend.”

“Pro: Water, Power, Dump site, Pool, Hiking, Pet Friendly, No age restrictions. Con(none of): WiFi, Full hook ups, fire pits. Diamond Jacks is what it is; a secluded little RV park. There are only partial hook ups, water and power. For site renters there is free black-water dumping, or $20 for the honey wagon (Honigwagen) service. There is an un-heated pool which is great in the summer because it is ice cold even when it is 100 degrees outside. Overall the place is clean but best for RV'ers and trailers. You can tent camp out there but if it is rainy season look elsewhere; the lots tend to have a run off slop to them. It is located up a bit of a windy road so know how to handle your rig around tight spots. That being said it is down in a valley; which does offer excellent views and some niche hiking spots. like the website says not far from town though you are looking at a minimum 20 to 30 minute drive out of the valley to any major shopping centers. Three stars for the services, an extra for the off leash Hiking.”

“Moved here over ten years ago. We may have overpaid for our (new at the time) dwelling during the peak of the housing market in 2006, but don't regret moving here. We've had a few nuisance neighbors over the years, but they've all been weeded out by park management. We live in a mostly quiet park, no crime, no deadbeats, beautiful sunsets and a cold pool during the summer. This community is located on the fringe of civilization, just far enough east to be tranquil (aside from the occasional fire truck), but located within a quick distance to the freeway. I commute to national city daily and it's only thirty or so minutes. Space rent is reasonable, park management isn't always riding you, you have annual inspections and get occasional notices for weeds or random things they frown upon being stored in your carport, but overall way better than any apartment living. There's just enough guest parking for friends to come over and we plan to be here until we can afford a home on private property. If you're looking to live in a manufactured home, I would recommend this park.”

“The front desk staff were helpful and very welcoming. The room was well appointed - fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron and more. Everything was clean and neat. Even on a hot day, the AC was more than competent. Coffee was available but not particularly tasty. The location is central, there are plenty of nearby places to eat and freeway access is convenient.”

“This is a great little community just on the outskirts of Escondido. Quiet, with plenty of families and children, + many long term residents. Maintenance crew is on point and are quick to respond. The manager cares about the park and their residents, making this such a nice place to live. A hidden gem.”

“Stayed in a deluxe knight and dragon room. Son loved the bunk bed, and the daily loot drop in the safe. Make sure to start the puzzle hunt when you are in the lobby. Pool area is very nice, and there is outdoor entertainment in the evening. Totally aimed at children, as opposed to the Disney resort which is more aimed at the whole family.”

“My family and I stayed for 12 nights during flood restoration of our home. On short notice, Ayres provided us with 2 rooms side by side. Our children enjoyed the amenities such as the pool, and continental breakfast. I found the grounds to be well kept. My husband was impressed with the various BBQ options. It was a bit challenging with 2 larger dogs in fairly small rooms and with a small "dog area" but we did our best to make it work.”

“A hidden gem of a hotel in Julian. Well kept, extra large room with an amazing jacuzzi tub in the room. Less expensive than the Bed and Breakfast options in town, and competitively priced with “less than average” accommodations that we stayed at before finding this hidden gem in Julian!”
