From the ambience, decor and atmosphere to the service, wait staff and food. When I walked in, I felt like I was walking into a winter wonderland. The service was 5 star exceptional! Each dish came out quick, drinks were always refilled, all the staff were attentive and kind. The food was exceptional! I loved that’s it’s a set menu and you choose your appetizer, entree and dessert. Also includes coffee and tea, and a glass of their delicious apple drink and I can’t recall the name, but it’s like drinking Christmas in a glass. I can’t believe I have never heard or been to this unique dining experience! I can’t wait to go back! This is perfect for a girls day out, family get together, day date with your significant other.”

“We enjoyed our stay last summer (2023) at Callie’s Lake and Campground. It has a friendly, relaxed, festive atmosphere. Lots of families enjoying time together and enjoying the beautiful Red River Gorge area. The on site restaurant was wonderful, and the karaoke and live music was a nice surprise. A big thumbs up goes to the private bathrooms! They are way better than community bath setups. They were diligent about keeping them clean as well. Nice location close to The Gorge and associated activities. You’ve gotta try Miguel’s Pizza while in the area! We will definitely be back. 😊”

My wife had the biscuits and gravy and I had the western omelet. Both were outstanding, including the potatoes. My coffee was good as well. I just wish there was a bigger buffet. It just appeared to have salad, desert, and side dish offerings, which was disappointing for a buffet fanatic like me. Maybe it's just meant to be added to an order-I'm not sure. I mean, when you get a catfish strips dinner with sides of house salad and potato salad, you expect a small bowl of three item salad and a 1/2 cup of potato salad. My heavens! the potato salad was filling a big soup bowl, and my salad was layers in a big pasta bowl. The catfish was crunchy, sweet, not greasy, and filled a 10-inch plate. Husband had a cheese burger with onion rings piled up. Said it would have been best if they used Duke's instead of miracle whip for the mayo. Oh, we thought we needed a starter, so we ordered fried mushrooms, delicious, but oh so many. Had to bring most of everything home for later. Definitely will be back!”

Great restaurant with some very interesting artifacts inside and custom wood creatures all around the outside walking area. Even saw two gentlemen cutting a tree down and then with the flip of a chain saw began cutting, trimming, and shopping the large trunk of the tree into another wildlife creature. Great place to eat and take in all the outdoor hand carved creatures. This was my first visit but definitely won't be my last. Also, there's 2 large seating areas. 1st area you seat yourself and go to the counter to order. 2nd area is a bit more formal where you're seated by a waiterass who also ta k es your order and brings your food nice and hot to your table. Either choice is great. You can't go wrong. Great place to eat, great atmosphere, friendly staff and lots of people eating there for the 3rd or more time. Definitely worth recommending!!”
