Very nice walk. About 40 minutes both ways add some time for making photos. Bring water. Gets hot very quickly
This is an incredible dream-like landscape through the colored rock and the desert. The beauty of the hike is just as treasured as the final destination, and its surreal, multi-hued, wavy rock formations. Not a terrible difficult hike, but you will get some good exercise. Amazing vistas all around. It is easy to wander off the path, but cairns keep you mostly following the right way.
So amazing to see this place in real!!!! It is definitely go-to place when you visit the Valley of Fire State Park. Wait until the sun goes down and you will see a stunning view.
Hiking wise it's not that interesting, but the stone patterns are beautiful and absolutely worth the trip! Recommend to go early in the day (or at sunset) as even in late December when it was quite cold the trail was very crowded.
Always a fun hike and each time we've made it the light has been different, making different features stand out. Also, time of year... sometimes blooming cacti, other times various flowers, and sometimes just the rocks. Always the rocks, but they are spectacular!
Fairly easy hike. As others have said, have water!
