Temperature inside is usually comfortable but occasionally it is very warm, almost like it depends on who is working. Solid but not extraordinary 8/10 I ordered the combination plate #26, which was one burrito, one enchilada, and one chile relleno . Burrito and enchilada 8/10. I mean, let's face it a burrito and enchilada are virtually the same except for the wrapper. That being said, the ground beef inside was seasoned nicely and had a good flavor. Red sauce on top had a nice flavor as well. Chile relleno 9/10. Lots of cheese (definitely not a complaint) and filling was good. (I will be honest, I actually thought there were refried beans inside, but when I referred to the menu, it says meat. Either way, it was good) Free little dessert at the end 10/10. I don't usually get dessert, but I would assume this was a mini version of sopapillas. Two fried tortilla pieces with cinnamon and sugar, whipped cream, and strawberry drizzle. A nice and delightful suprise as I was not expecting it. I would say the best word for Monte De Rey is "solid." While I didn't get anything off the lunch special menu, it was vast and priced well. At the time of writing this, my combo platter was 9.99, and soda (with free refill) was 2.19. I will definitely be back to continue trying other dishes.”

My daughter got chocolate chip pancakes that had no business being so good and I tried a variety of things. (Bologna for breakfast? Sure! Grits? Sounds like a requirement! Chunks?! Server and bartender were both very nice and attentive, but food service from the kitchen was pretty slow (ordered three apps, plus a couple of burgers, which clocked in total service time to about 1hr 20 minutes). That being said, the fried green tomatoes, Mac and cheese balls, and the frog legs were a big hit with the adults and the children (and the frog legs were MASSIVE, so be hungry, but we're very tender/juicy). Also the burgers with the pimento cheese were very well composed and had a great overall flavor profile. Definitely a fun bar to grab a drink, in addition to their above average food/fare.”

All the way was with mustard, chili, onions and slaw. They had three kinds of slaw, I opted for white. Very good hotdog, well cooked. Fries were good with nice seasoning. Guy next to me had a delicious looking pizza. Service was great. Server was quick to take my order, kept drink topped off, chatted with those of us sitting at the bar. If you ride by, don't be put off by the exterior. And if you don't ride by, make an excuse to go visit.”

“not sure if this spot has roaches like all these other reviews say, and also, we didn’t check to see if we were eating roaches. that being said, the stuffed pizza was very good for a total of 15 minutes. as time passed it became apparent that the cheese used was very cheap, and the canned vegetables made the dough of the pizza very soggy. it seems as if the only seasoning used was salt in the dough. the marinara sauce however was very flavorful. the fried zucchini fries were very good. the ranch that came along with it was god tier. overall, i was left feeling like I should have ordered only fried food or maybe the rotisserie chicken.”
