Her teaching style makes the learning process enjoyable and motivated. One aspect of her teaching that stood out was her personalized approach to instruction. She gives individual attention to all the students and provides constructive feedback to help improve. Beyond the confines of the studio, she encouraged us to perform at various cultural events and festivals. These opportunities helped our daughter to gain confidence and exposure. “This is our first year at Mudpies and it has been great. Our son loves the after school program as well as the summer program. It's great to see the kids outside playing and not playing video games. They keep the kids busy all summer and even have an on site splash pad. They already have our daughter down to one nap which is a great relief for us! The staff is great and they are always quick to answer questions that we may have. I would highly recommend Mudpies.”

“From a teacher's point of view, this is a great school! I figure it is OK to post as a teacher if I disclose that, because some may use these reviews to inform themselves about whether or not to seek employment here. The principal is involved, supportive, and knows so many of the students by name. He is my favorite out of the 4 I have worked under. There is a negative review on here about drugs groups and that he teachers should do something about them, but I can tell you we do all we can. Every provable case at school events or on school grounds results in officers being involved, the student(s) being removed from campus for an extended period of time, and ineligibility from activities. We random drug test any student with a parking permit or involved in any activity and we have K9 sweeps of the parking lot. We do our best and I am not sure what else she wants us to do. The school works hard to make sure there are a variety of clubs and activities for the kids to get involved in because they believe involved kids are less likely to feel disconnected and get involved in negative habits/groups. There is an anime club, a rock music club, video game club, fishing club, archery club, etc. The idea is to get something for everyone. There are several service oriented clubs and I love seeing the students develop more skill/attention to giving time and organizing charitable efforts. I see Wylie East as a school for of people who care about others helping teacher kids and encouraging them to care about others as well. It is a great place to work and I am happy to have my own children coming through this school.”

“Having 5 children, and 11 years at FIC they are truly our second family. Julie & Patti (the Director and Asst. Director) are amazing! Truly dedicated staff that loved our children and we have never felt our kids were in safer hands than with them! I truly wish they offered ore than Mother's Day out, Pre-K, and Kinder! If you are looking for a place for your kiddos this is the place! They also have an awesome after-school care for additional time past 2:30 that is SO helpful when you have other kiddos in grade school or need to finish errands! I wish my babies could STILL be here! I love there events they put on especially Breakfast with Santa, and the silent auctions each class does! All the things they do really truly create so much joy and the teachers for the kiddos are phenomenal! PS their summer camps are equally amazing!”

After visiting so many schools, we finally chose this place for our two children 2 and 5 yrs old because we felt connected instantly. Very family friendly, non commercial place. “This is hands down one of the best daycare places from our experience. My daughter is 3 years 2 months and she’s been going to Children’s Lighthouse (Frisco) since she was about 2. She’s excited every day to go to “school” and she comes home happy :) All teachers are great, fun and kind to kids. Ms Cherokee is a great director. All what follows is great appreciation to Ms Angie (my daughter’s teacher) who is exceptional! She’s one of the main reasons my daughter loves going to school every day :) Her kindness is unmatched, her story—telling skills are amazing. Ms Angie spends time every day reading books with all kiddos, she made my 3 yo love books and it became a habit to hold books and read together every evening. She greets all kiddos by their name when they walk into the classroom and gives each a big hug and that really means a lot to me. Ms Angie is so detail oriented, takes care of all the little things for every kid in her class (from diaper change times when we were still at such a phase to making sure kids eat their meals/ have their daily water intake/ get their daily naps). She does daily dance/ sing routine with the kiddos in addition to colouring activities. She also asserts good manners to the little ones such as saying thank you, greeting friends, sharing toys, etc. I’d like to give her a huge THANK YOU for everything she does. I drop off my daughter every day knowing she’s loved and she’s in safe hands. We love you Ms Angie, so much! ♥️”

“My daughter has been taking ukulele lessons here for close to 6 months and she absolutely loves it! Her instructor is so patient and encouraging. He consistently introduces new techniques and helps her grow her skills without overwhelming her. He definitely makes it fun. There is a recital in November, and we are looking forward watching my daughter perform. The office team is fantastic to work with as well. They are very organized and responsive if you have questions or need to make a schedule adjustment.”

“We LOVE Ladybird. For context, I’m an elementary school teacher with a background in special education and a masters in curriculum studies. I’ve taught kindergarten for seven years, so I was very thorough when picking an early learning environment for my child—I went in to each daycare tour with pages of questions and a full on clipboard, extra as can be. I heard about Ladybird from one of my own colleagues, which is always promising. The director Ms. Karin answered all of our questions on our tour and was so patient guiding us through the registration process. She and Ms. Brittany were also very helpful when we had to delay my daughter’s start date due to a family situation out of state. My daughter has been at Ladybird for about three months now. Her teachers Ms. Jackie, Ms. Lorie, and Ms. Zaria are so kind and loving. They communicate throughout the day with us, post photos, and even work with our family goals in the classroom (like when my daughter moved on from her pacifier). We love that Ladybird has camera access, which has allowed me to see that not only are in they compliance with state teacher:student ratios, they are typically going above and beyond. All of the walls are glass and see through, so there’s really no angle where there isn’t visibility. They’ve also been super accommodating with my daughter’s speech therapist providing sessions at the school. But the biggest thing I love is how happy my daughter is there. I know she is in good hands because of how she interacts with her teachers. When I pick her up each day, she blows them kisses goodbye and even signs “I love you” to them. A toddler can’t lie—how she interacts with her teachers speaks volumes. Professionally, I’m impressed with Ladybird, and as a mom, I’m immensely grateful. I know that in word and deed they care for my daughter and for our family.”

“I would first like to say that Dwayne’s unique teaching style and techniques combined with his ability to reach deep and bring a persons talents to the surface are second to none in my book!! I was introduced to Dwayne back in 1994, and shortly after became one of his students. One of the many things that I love about Dwayne’s teaching style is his ability to have fun and at the same time push a student to be the best they can be by providing a solid foundation and understanding of what they are doing. The great thing is he has the teaching experience to teach at the most basic level or the most advanced level providing everyone a chance to grow their skill set!! On several occasions I left my lesson, looking like I had just run a marathon, and it wasn’t because of the temperature in the studio!!! Lol About four years ago, I was presented with an opportunity to play bass at the local church church that I attend in Farmersville Texas. Being that I am married with three children it had been quit some time since I had been able to make it to see Dwayne. I have to admit having never really played on a stage before and seeing what was required of the musicians that played at this level I wasn’t sure it would be possible to pull off!! My first call was to Dwayne to explain the situation I was in. In his calm Dwayne voice he said,” We got this, can you be here Tuesday”? Within a few short months this man was able to go back remind me of the foundations of the base that he instilled in me early in my bass years and build on those as well as give me the confidence needed to get up there and play with some of the most well know people in the rotation today!! If that’s wasn’t enough I had the blessing two weeks ago to take my 12yr old son Jacob for his first bass lesson with Dwayne!! Second generation bass player!! I’m here to tell you if you want to play the bass to the best of your ability, book a lesson with Dwayne do what he asks of you and hold on to your hat because you never know who you will end up getting the chance to play with!!”
