“Although it's a bit pricey, the food is amazing. Sublime, coastal atmosphere with both a luxurious interior dining area and a sublime outdoor patio overlooking the harbor. The service was excellent, with the food arriving just a few minutes after ordering. If you're considering stopping by, I would definitely encourage you. I would also recommend you order anything with blackened shrimp (it's excellent)!”

“This is a beautiful gem in Port Aransas. The food was so yummy. Pictures include the lamb special and the shrimp and quail appetizers. It's a breezy outdoor patio that is dog friendly and has a beautiful sunset. I recommend that you make a reservation this place can get busy later in the day. They can only do party's of 6 and under but the atmosphere is worth it and that definitely helps keep this place as spaced and the experience as personal as possible. The staff was amazing, Tom gave great recommendations on how to get the special cooked ( medium rare) oh my goodness it fell off the bone and he had us laughing and enjoying our vacation all the more after a day on the water. I will 100% be back. I also loved that a lot of locals were walking in as we were leaving and they knew our server by name. This makes me feel like this is a every time experience. Can't wait to try the creme brulee and the tuna martini next time ( tables near us recommend or ordered and you could hear there love) could not say more good this about this place.”

“If you guys need a quick lunch their prices are affordable and the food is great! Sometimes the service is slow but it's worth it. Stayed here a few times in my life and enjoyed it. Rooms get the job done”

“A friend of mine recommended Black Marlin and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was better than expected after listening to the recommendation. It is not a very big restaurant which I can only assume allows them to provide quality over quantity. And for the prices, you can't beat it. This is the only restaurant I can remember where the food is a few steps above the price they charge. Don't get me wrong, it is still a $25-50 per person dining experience with the ability to go well above that, but they do such a fantastic job to where it makes it completely worth it. I left thinking I robbed the place! If you have younger kids, the Mac'n Cheese is amazing and big enough for two. Just don't try it, you may not give any to them!”

“Great atmosphere! We ate appetizers in the bar. Dining room is really nice but we liked the open feel of the bar. Lots of great decor and comfortable seating inside as well as lovely outdoor tables. Had the spinach salad, bacon wrapped tenderloin (risotto was great! Another reviewer said it wasn't...), crab cakes, and key lime parfait for dessert. This was plenty for two. Yes, it's expensive but the overall experience is worth it.”

“Thank you so much!! We really appreciate the exceptional Staff who made our evening dinner go so well! We brought our own fresh catch of Vermilion Snapper and they did a Fantastic Job! We asked for both, Blackened and Grilled and both were Perfect! The Manager is a True Team Leader!”

“This place has great food - LOVED the eggs and hash browns and would absolutely come back. Pancake was a little crispy for my liking but still tasty and very filling - you won’t walk away hungry. Only reason for 4 stars is because of how small the place is - we were told about 45 minute wait and ended up waiting close to 2 hours for a table. Definitely too small of a space for how delicious the food is, which brings a lot of customers. They call your name out loud so you have to be there. I would maybe recommend going early morning to try and avoid so long of a wait?”

“We went for lunch and it was super packed with people. Tables are all pushed as close as possible for maximum occupancy. However, the food and service was great. I liked that the menu had a picture for each menu item. Just be prepared for noise, and being crowded.”

“Delicious food. Friendly staff. We tried a variety. I ordered the Krakatoa Shrimp (big enough to share between me and my daughter), my daughter ordered the Garlic Shrimp taco (it wasn't her favorite), youngest ordered nuggets (can't go wrong there), and for appetizers we ordered Chicken Sate (delicious) and Dragon Queso (again can never to wrong with queso). Will definitely be back!”

“The food and service were outstanding. Ambiance needs some improvement. You order your food at the bar off of the chalkboard menu. Then find a table and wait for your food to arrive. I say the service was good because we sat at the bar. Not sure if we sat at a table it would have been the same.”

“Great pizza, colorful ‘dive bar’ atmosphere. Recommend getting a pitcher of beer if there are 3 or 4 of you. Get the ‘Gaff’ pizza…loaded! Can leave a dollar bill signed by you and put on the wall. Fun. BTW, Rocky visited with his human and was greeted in unison by all in the bar. Love it.”

“This place is a great get away and relaxing vivacious environment. The owner and winery staff knows how to show their guest a good time. Everyone was extremely friendly and very welcoming. If you’re looking for a nice, chill, and mellow place to kick back, this is the perfect place to visit. The wine selection is plentiful and beer 🍺 selection isn’t too bad aswell. If you’re into karaoke and like to jam out, highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun time. Lots of country music fans, however, these folks know how to have a good time and throw in a mixture of music. Perfect place to bring in our 6th year anniversary.”

“We came her for me and my wife's anniversary and we're not disappointed. The fried fish and shrimp platter was delicious and the snapper was cook perfectly. Fried mushrooms were great and my wife's grilled fish and shrimp was delicious as well. To top it off we had great customers service and we're treated great.”

“We never knew this place existed! I'm so glad we found it. Did not wait long to be seated and the server was so amazing and attentive. My son even dropped some of his canned soda and the waitress brought him a new one super fast. Everything looked so good we couldn't decide what to get but what we did get was delicious. Everyone was very satisfied with our meals. Definitely recommended if your looking for a seafood/pasta/with a tiny bit of Asian flair.”

“Dear customers, On behalf of The Island Cafe, I sincerely apologize for any and all issues experienced while you came for a visit. We DO take all issues seriously,(some people are simply unable to please), we do our very best with what we have and all shortages ranging from staff to supplies. We often comp anything that isn't to your liking or even drinks for simply waiting for your food (if the wait is longer than expected due to short staffing and everything being cooked per order). We understand you depended on us to have a good meal and experience while visiting Port Aransas. We are taking any incident seriously. The comment on the flies do hit home because I have tried everything. Our city will not let us move our dumpster further away from the building to help with the issue, along with our doors being constantly opened for the many many customers coming in & out. Not an excuse in any means, however , I say again, we are doing our very best. I appreciate your patience with us as we further work on all issues. I’m confident your next experience with us will be more to your satisfaction. I do hope you choose to try more than one before never returning. 🙂 My grandparents started the business long long ago, now my father and mother own it now after their passing. I would love and be honored to continue this business one day for them! I grew up learning from the best and want nothing more than to continue this for them. Thank you again for all the kind words and ratings. Even more so for the negative ones to help improve the business of a Lil mom n pop Cafe. -Nicole”

“Great Food! We stopped in here on our mini vacation and were not disappointed in the food. Everything we ordered was delicious. 😋 PROS -Good food -Reasonable Prices -Nice view of the bay and the boats -Comfortable seating -Their uniform shirts are really cool, and when we asked if they sold them as souvenirs, they said yes! Cons -Seating is outdoors and can get uncomfortably warm -You are outdoors so there maybe an occasional fly that zooms by or lands on your sandwich 😑 -The wait to be seated was about 15-20 minutes, not terrible but, but worth the wait -There was quite a wait for the food, but then again, it's HOT and FRESH when it arrives!! What we ordered: -Blooming Onion -Cajun Fried Popcorn Shrimp -Hush Puppies -Fried Fish Sandwich (the fries were amazing, but so were the mashed potatoes!) -Grilled Fish Sandwich -Crab Cake Sandwich Again everything we ordered was delicious and everyone left very full and very satisfied.”

“Awesome place for shark fishing, unfortunately once your at the end of the prier the restrooms are 386 steps back to the entrance. Awesome people always around to help you if needed to bring in that BiG SHARK!!! Small cleaning station with running water, lots of lights so you can see at nite. But seriously some folks don't clean up after themselves which isn't very nice. But other then that, Highly Recommend. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟”

“You'll have to wait a bit but it's well worth it! The food was light but filling. I had a turkey sandwich, pasta salad and a tea. I was surprised how much crisp deliciousness could exist in a sandwich. The whole grain bread was thick and the sauce wasn't overpowering. Piled high with quality turkey... I was very impressed. I would wait an hour for this food and not complain. A must try for anyone visiting or local. Definitely planning to go back soon! So so good”

“Such a great pizza place the pepperonis are the best the ones that cook perfectly and retain the juices in little cups of heavenly perfection. This is a must try for any pizza lover. Greek salad was a clean plate kinda dish where you lick the dish clean and want some more 😁. For drinks the old fashioned rum based cocktail with black bitters was made perfectly. Service was amazing no complaints I just wish more beers were on tap”

“Hello from Austin! I came here after being turned away from another restaurant, who closed early- and thank heavens for that, as this place has been such a delight that I’m writing this review while still sitting inside. This place is far from hole in the wall, but it is small and homely in all the best ways (though be prepared to park off the lot). The entire staff seems to be a small and close family, each of which were absolutely delightful people. I’ve never felt so revered just for walking in a door- they were so immediately kind! Before I had even picked my food, a table of 14 women came in, and the entire family swarmed them and greeted them all by name, delivering wine glasses to each of the women- it was a delight to witness. Anyway, I ordered a pasta dish at the recommendation of one of the staff, and just LOVED it. The complimentary appetizers were delicious, the dish I got was delicious, and the wine that the friendly tourists at the adjacent table gave me was also delicious. I look forward to returning here for my next trip to Port A. Don’t miss this little home in the wall.”
