“Excellent place stay along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Room was clean and fresh (so fresh that my fifteen year old son even noticed and said something like, “this room isn’t just clean, it’s so fresh!”) beds were comfy, shower water hot through two back-to-back showers and good water pressure! Very cozy wood smell when you first walk in the room, due to the renovation. So quiet at night - We did not hear A PEEP from outside of our room all night. Owner was super nice and communicative. The windows all could open and there was just a lovely fresh breeze from outside… the windows in the back of the rooms look out on nothing but a nice patch of green grass and then trees. When we arrived it was dark but we were pleasantly surprised when we came out in the morning to see a pretty country view with more mountains in the distance. The air conditioner was nice and cold but also very quiet. Breakfast was very good in a cute little country store setting. I remember scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, fresh fruit, coffee, hot cocoa, several types of tea, and regular bread, cinnamon raisin bread and English muffins available to toast, but I’m sure there were more things I don’t remember. As for downsides the ONLY things I would change are 1. I’d put a dark curtain over the back window too - there were good blackout curtains in the front but only blinds on the back window by the sink, so light was still able to get in in the morning. 2. There was no fridge - my mistake, I should have checked but I didn’t think to. For the price I would think there would be a small fridge in the room so travelers can keep their cooler stuff cold and refreeze their ice packs overnight. Fortunately our cooler was absolutely crammed with stuff and about a thousand ice packs though so we were fine. All in all a sweet little mountain inn and I would choose to stay here again if I got the chance!”

“We really enjoyed staying there. The cabin had 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a family meal. The trees on the large property were beautiful. They even had a lavender farm and shop where you could buy soaps and other things made with lavender. There were also trails you could hike beside the Dan River. Great place to go during warm weather as it tends to be much cooler up there on the mountain. We’ll be back.”

“Our family calls this the "Beach". My 3 year old loves it! We don't camp there but the beauty of it makes us want to! The water is surprisingly clear and it's such a pleasant experience. Never over crowded. They even have a picnic area and grills to cook.”

“I have had the pleasure of staying at Tsuga on the Ridge this past fall and had an amazing time. The house is so well outfitted and Brian and Clara were super helpful, responsive, and thought of everything we could need. The views were beautiful and we loved the yard and grounds. The history of the house was captivating and truly added to our stay. The location is close to a great winery and cute town with book shops and cafes. I can’t wait for my next trip up to this magical mountain get away. I highly recommend it to all of my friends.”

“This motel is exactly what you hope to run into as a traveling worker with a small budget. It may be a bit outdated, but the entire place was very clean and kept up properly. Certainly one of the few cheap options for a place to stay in that area, but does not compensate like most motel owners on budget do. Room and towels, facilities and amenities all work and were very clean. Water is clean enough to drink, also never had to deal with unwanted or unruly guests. Mr. Ken McClure runs a tight ship there, and I definitely will be staying again, givin the opportunity to do so. Casey Local #147 operating engineers, va.”

“This is a wonderful campground immediately off of the Blue Ridge mountain Parkway. Not only are the views fantastic from the campground but the sites are very spacious. Spaced out well and provide great privacy. The restrooms were very clean and they provided free washer and dryer. Each site had a nice picnic table and a fire ring. Definitely planning on returning to this great campground in the future.”

“To put it simply, it felt like home. Cindy is a treasure, and the farm is absolutely beautiful and remote. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat, this is the place to be. I only stayed here for one night, but I wish I had more time. I will definitely come back in the future if I am in the area. I was on a motorcycle roadtrip, and since Cindy/Gary are fellow riders, they really looked out for me and I was able to garage my bike overnight. Breakfast was delicious and the lodging was super clean and comfortable. Best part was conversing with Cindy.”

“Michael and Steve are excellent hosts. They are living the quiet(-ish) life with their flock of birds, herd of dogs and the beautiful Vista of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The room was perfect, private and comfy. I had my own bathroom and it was furnished smartly. The whole upstairs is for guests, and they have a sitting room and wee coffee and snack station chock full of tasty things. One of the best AirBnBs I have stayed at.”
