“David is a wealth of information about farming and alpacas! He is so welcoming. Our kids got up close and personal with alpacas safely with David’s guidance. We rented three of the yurts with two other families and enjoyed this unique stay. One highlight was the hike down to the river, which took 20-30 minutes each way. Soaking our feet in the cold mountain water on a hot day felt divine. We brought things to grill on the communal BBQ and were appreciative of the showers after a day of farm smells on our bods. :) We loved Lila’s Cafe in Granite Falls for coffee, brunch, and ice cream.”

“We were checked in by Ranjita…very friendly and helpful! We were in a jacuzzi room. I thought it would make the room humid but we used it anyway. I was way wrong and so glad we did. After 10,000 steps through the airport it was just what I needed. Beds were comfortable and we slept very well. Room was clean. Breakfast area is well kept and stocked. Couldn’t have been happier!”

“Nice military campground on JBLM. There are plenty of spacious sites in a shady forest. Sites with hookups can be reserved and dry sites are available on a first come, first served basis. We stayed at a dry site for a weekend, so the shade trees were nice. Fresh water and a dump station were available on site. The only downside to staying on an Air Force base was getting woken up by aircraft on the nearby airfield! Access is limited since it is on a military base.”

“I lived there taking care of my grandpa Thomas Ryker. Space 36. I think that I met some of the most perfect good people there that taught me life. I started my own family in this place I called home. 3 children running around with every neighbor watching out, we all loved each other and you could make the same type of memory for yourself. The crime rate was very low, I live there until I was 27/28. I know what bad people are and they don't really even exist there, and if they do now then they won't do much damage before being shipped out. I recommend this living to any person if age who would like to still feel of importance while building real friendships and have respect from all windows. The neighbors are quiet yet social and most of all they watch out for each other. The safe net is about 90% and the amazing help from the church Crossroads always use to come in and free if price , help these elderly folks rebuilding their place and making sure safety was installed, bringing picnic tables and new things.. it's truly home there. I give this area a 1oooooookazillion top rating. Memories are all good here, and it's truly a beautiful experience, so remember that when u need a place to live .”

The facilities are Always clean and well taken care off. WiFi is strong and healthy . The store is super well stocked with some real local culinary goodies as well local art. For emergency fishing needs you find it all. You run out of spices a nice bulk selection where you can buy quantities to your needs - think all the crab boil you need to cook . “The Lewis River inn, in Woodland Washington is set in the most beautiful serene, quiet and peaceful beautiful setting right on the river. It is where my precious Mom and I had the last click of the cameras shutter before I lost her 3 days later. I could not remember what room that she and I have stayed in, and Carol and Travis were the most helpful. I just want to thank them for accommodating my emotional needs of going back to the room Mom and I had last been in overlooking the river. They were very very concerned about how sad I was to think that I wasn't going to be able to be in the same room as Mom and I had been in, and they did everything that they could to make sure that I was and, I was. It was healing. Sitting out on the same balcony downstairs in front of the river remembering my Mom and me together was everything I had hoped for. “I discovered this B&B when I brought my youngest out to see Washington after their high school graduation in 2015. I returned for a visit again with another family member in 2018. Both times, Bill was a such gracious host to us...actually, gracious is an understatement! I feel like I am staying with family when I've stayed there. The upstairs room is so peaceful. I sleep so well there! And I still dream about the sunporch breakfasts we had before going on our daily adventures. It's a lovely experience that I will always treasure and hope to be able to do again in the future. I hear the Sound calling me as I write this! So grateful to these wonderful folks for opening up their home as a B&B!”

“We spent one night here on our anniversary. We splurged and got the King Jacuzzi room overlooking the water. My only complaint was the price … almost $500 for one night. That’s the going rate nowadays (I priced many other rooms in town) and it’s not a knock on Silver Cloud. My complaint says more about my budget than anything. The room was very luxurious and for the amount of money, we definitely got the value. Bathrobes were comfortable, high quality towels and plenty of them. The room appointments were first class. The view from the tub was terrific! The jacuzzi tub was huge! And water temp was just as you’d expect. We paid extra (when we booked) for parking, and walking to dinner and dessert was easy. It appears as though they are still doing a considerable amount of building in the area, and more businesses will show up soon. Ruston is a cool town nowadays and I expect we’ll be back before too long.”

“I have lived here for roughly 5 years. Overall its really good. I almost gave it a 3 because of the rules and the way some rangers act like big government authority almost and they will make you get a permit, then 6 months later tell you that you can't do something that you already got a permit for, which infuriates me like crazy. They need some more common sense instead of acting like the members are criminals at times. That being said its not a bad cost to live here, there are plenty of people that work here that are very kind, and having access to the lake and things like that are great. I could write a novel, but will leave it at that for now. My only advice to the staff is BE KIND, this isn't the united states corporation military, this is our home show some respect. Having said that, I overall recommend it. You guys train your staff better and use some more commons sense and work together more, I would give this a 5. Just be consistent please. Thanks!”
