“Lael is a superb teacher. I have taken classes with friends, with my aging father, and alone, and Lael has positive, uplifting encouragement for every student. She teaches in a way that allows each student to follow their own vision. Lael also coaches professional artists with critique groups and one-on-one reviews. She helped me start showing my work in galleries and I could not be more pleased and surprised at my success.”

“My 9 year old daughter and I stopped in at Lu Martin Galleries tonight during the First Thursday Art Walk. Lu Martin could not have been more kind and welcoming to my daughter and I. She had the best stories about the paintings, in addition to some wonderful life advice. My daughter picked out a special painting by Lu Martin, and was thrilled to hang up her first painting in her room. Thank you Lu Martin for giving us a special experience tonight!”

“I have recently purchased a beautiful encaustic painting from Karen Biery, Studio KB and I am so glad that I did. So very different and unique. I decided on the painting of snow covered pine trees with a winding path. It was very hard to decided which one to pick. The best is that it arrived in tack because it was professionally wrapped and boxed. I am planning on visiting Studio KB in the summer to see all that she has to offer. Such a talent! Sandy”

“4.5 stars ... Nice art gallery off the beaten path. Local artwork is well done/displayed and proprietors are very nice and answer any questions you may have. Picked up a vase and enjoyed looking at the artwork! The Donny Osmond head was my wife's favorite”

“I took a Leather Earrings Craft Workshop with May on 12/4/21. It. Was. Amazing!!! The other students were fabulous company, and I can't say enough great things about May as a teacher and facilitator. She is so friendly and warm. She had beautiful materials. She provided excellent guidance and suggestions when needed. And she knew just what we needed to keep the flow of the class. We got to do the fun stuff, selecting, cutting, and arranging materials, while she punched holes, added jump rings, and earring hooks. We all were able to make several beautiful sets of earrings to keep or gift. They looked amazing. It was wonderful to be creative and focused for a few hours. I LOVE to craft, but sometimes you want to experiment without purchasing all the tools and materials necessary to complete a project. This workshop was the perfect example of a class that allowed me to be completely creative without having to worry about purchasing materials and tools, learning about using those materials and tools, and then storing those materials and tools indefinitely in my garage (adding to my husband's great sadness over the state of our garage). This class happened during COVID, and I felt very safe. Everyone was wearing masks.”

“It was a rainy day and I decided to try this place out. I brought a friend and my three year old and had an amazing, memorable experience. It's relaxing, fun and exciting to see how they turned out! There are a lot of items to choose from and in a lot of different price ranges. I let my son pick out what he wanted because that's the type of mother I turned out to be. He picked out a Jeep. A little surprising since he's a hot wheels/monster truck kind of kid, but yeah sure. My friend picked out a little skeleton cat figurine and I opted for a vase. Mine took a lot less time than everyone else because it was a flat surface. My son had so much fun painting his Jeep and did such a good job staying in his seat and concentrating, I let him pick out another item. He picked a race car. He covered both items pretty nicely and we are excited to see what kind of pottery paint shenanigans a 3 year old came up with. I did a really great job just letting what he painted...be. The price comes with six colors you can choose to glaze and surprisingly the paint washes out of clothes. Good to know even though I dressed in case the paint stained. The recommended painting three layers of paint to get the desired color. This is something really cool and different if you have a couple of hours. We actually were done in an hour and half. I highly recommend if you have children for those memories. I highly recommend it if you want to hang out with friends if you want to relax and converse. I highly recommend it if you are alone and want to spend a couple of hours doing something different. The staff here are very kind and will answer any questions you have. I'll update with finished photos after they have cooked them. And I will be back again and again as long as this place is here!”
