The park is rebuilt from the fire storms in 2007... If you are looking for a comfortable place to call home that is affordable, this is it. “My daughter just had her wedding here and it was BEAUTIFUL!!! We had to relocate her ceremony to the golf course area due to excessive rain causing the grass area to be soggy but I am SO glad we did because the golf area was unbelievably green and gorgeous!!! The cocktail hour back by the lake was breathtaking. The food was delicious and fresh and guests couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. We did not expect the level of quality for such a large party (150) but the chefs/servers did an incredible job!!! The property is quaint, clean, and comfy. I want to come back to enjoy a stay with poolside or lake view 😍 Overall, beautiful, gorgeous, accommodations and I highly recommend!!!”

“My partner and I had the most relaxing and fun stay! The rooms are great and the bed is so comfortable and the tiny kitchen was too cute for words. I loved that we could check ourselves in and enjoyed the private little patio and loved that there were bikes and surfboards to rent. The staff also hooked us up with free coffee and donuts in the mornings. The neighborhood is amazing. SO much to see/do within walking distance, live music, the beach, great food and coffee and new eats like a vegan Jewish deli! Felt very California state of mind and just a perfect weekend getaway kinda place. Loved it and hope to return!”

“Greatly enjoyed our time while tent camping at Shepherd’s Trail, in the shadow of Lyon’s Peak. Giuseppe the camp director was very accomodating and attentive. Nice shade trees, pool, bathhouse, and beautiful handmade stone walls that you rarely see anywhere else these days — took the caretaker decades to make. Lots of quail and mountain (big) doves on the premises. Horsethief trail (with seasonal rock pools) is nearby, as is the fun Lyons Valley Trading Post. The drive out here, be it via Skyline Truck Trail (newly paved) or Honey Springs Rd, is quite nice. Thanks for a great experience on short notice.”

“We booked this cabin through VRBO, and my extended family stayed here for 2 nights. The cabin slept 14, not 15, as the listing suggested. Room 1 had one queen bed and one full bed (4 people); room 2 had one queen bed and one king-or-two-twins trundle (4 people); room 3 had one king bed (2 people); room 4 had one king-or-two-twins trundle (2 people); and the living room had a sleeper sofa (2 people). 2 bathrooms for 15 people was a tight squeeze, but we made it work. The decor was classic woodsy cabin. The kitchen worked well, and was very well stocked, although we wished there was a table we could all sit around (the dining table only sat 8 comfortably). But the living space was very comfortable, wifi worked well, and we had a great time in this cabin.”

“Stayed at the Butterfield B&B for four nights and had an exceptional time. Dawn’s breakfast every morning was excellent and we enjoyed chatting with them after breakfast in the comfort of their cozy dining room. The common spaces were well kept and inviting, perfect for board games and a glass of wine. The room had everything we needed and was very comfortable and tidy. I will be recommending this place to anyone who comes to Julian! Thank you Dawn and Ed for an amazing stay!”

“Stayed for the weekend with my partner. It rained so we didn’t get to use the deck or hot tub. But we are looking forward to coming back and using them next time. The property is beautiful and secluded. The cabin was clean and cozy. The owners communicated excellently during the booking process and left clear directions how to get to the property as well as how to enjoy it. We also saw dozens of wild turkey, 3 deer and lots of different birds visiting the bird feeders right by the window to enjoy watching them while we snuggled on the love seat sipping our coffee. Aptly named the couples cabin. We can’t wait to come back.”

“Have stayed here twice the place has radically improved and has everything we were looking for to host our event I think our first stay a couple months ago was right after they opened so it’s taken them a bit to get the kinks sorted out but they definitely have! Lots of little breakfast options coffee in multiple places two kitchens private bathrooms amazing views you can rent the whole place or just one or two rooms which we have done both definitely will be our go to place literally right next the safari park for the kids and our favorite winery and the mall couldn’t get a better location! Parking was easy room for probably 40 cars if not more. Towels are fluffy :) owner said they will be getting a hot tub so I’m looking forward to that🙏 our favorite room so far is the safari suite it fits our whole family and has its own kitchen so it’s perfect for a long term stay almost like renting an apartment but better lol”

They have a little issue with the water but will work it out soon don't let it stop you from visiting we had no trouble with it (I an a water production supervisor). “Don't like the big red ants throughout the resort. The lake is beautiful but the locals stated it is filled with carp and catfish. -- no bass or trout. Camp appeared to have no curfew. Talking and music was throughout the night. The on-site restaurant and general store were excellent. The staff was cordially, helpful, and accessible.”

“I have never been up here although I am a San Diego native. Went up with a group of friends and really enjoyed ourselves! The rooms were really really nice, and the pool was calm on the adults only side of the willows resort. All the bartenders in the casino were extremely friendly and we also ate at The upscale restaurant inside. I'll review that separately. Will definitely go back!”

“This place is a hidden gem! Everything about this park is outstanding, the staff (Keith is the absolute best) go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of and have everything you need. The park is always maintained to the highest degree. The bathrooms are always spotless, they have a gym, pool and spa, a game room for kids and dog friendly. We highly recommend staying here! What was suppose to be a couple week stay has been turned to months because we enjoy it here so much!”
