“This place, in the heart of a tourist destination, provides surprisingly hearty and tasty food on a reasonable price. From the looks of this place, Chowder Hut screams "rip off". Probably greasy food, tasteless chowder, all living off of the ignorance of tourists. I had passed by this place on multiple occasions and never really entered. Last weekend, my family was coming back from a walk in the pier, and we were all so tired and famished. We just walked into Chowder Hut because there were empty seats. Place was decently clean, and the glass walls did a good job of blocking the winds. Upon walking up to order food, price seemed to be decent - yes, expensive on a global scale but reasonable for a tourist epicenter. The food comes out from the side with your number called, and boy were we in for a surprise. Everything was freshly cooked, and accompanied with wonderful fries. Clam chowder was thick and appropriately creamy, the crab melt was delicious with "real" crab meat, chicken tenders were great for the kids, all with plentiful local beer. The amazing weather also added to the atmosphere. Overall, we were full and happy and definitely enjoyed our experience. Perhaps it wouldn't have been this nice had the weather been naughty or the winds frigid but it was just perfect for a late lunch on a beautiful spring day.”

“Nice small place for good ramen. Everything was tasty. One server working but it works out since there are maybe 7 or 8 tables. Food came out surprisingly quick. Worth a repeat.”

“Total vintage dive now owned by Ethiopians who decided to keep everything as-is except the food (have never eaten there). Great local vibe and Mama keeps everyone in check with the drinks flowing. Prices slightly high.”

“The food is great! Menu is fairly priced. I ordered off the breakfast menu and it was delicious. Eggs and bacon was cooked to perfection, and pancakes were fluffy with just enough crunch to it. [I like my pancakes fried a little????????♀️] do to covid 19, ofcourse I was unable to enter the establishment, eating in the parking lot was no biggie. Overall a great moms/pops shop. I definitely recommend this establishment if your in the area ????????”

“We had the pleasure of eating here on Saturday February 8th 2020, we were a large crowd of people. We had a wonderful experience here the employee's and I believe the manager as well. Our order was all correct, the food was hot and fresh. Everyone one I'd the employee's were so nice and very helpful. For being a large crowd and having so many orders to complete they did an amazing job. It was a small place but there was plenty of room for our large party and I cannot express how appropriative we are and the great experience we had eating at this place. We have ate at other round tables and by far this was a way better experience than most. Thank you for making our experience and our family feel so welcoming.”

“It’s an underdogs, but at the beach! Wow! It’s expensive, ow! Jeez god my wallet, I went here for lunch and spent $60 for a scantily clad meal for 4. No drinks! It’s neat, they’ve got a great location, and the food is just as good as the original. If you’re by the beach and want to ball out, go get some tacos and a beer. Maybe some tequila if you really know what’s up?”

“Delancey Street foundation supports and empowers local community. I appreciate their mission in training youth from disadvantaged communities for career in food business. The restaurant and the associated coffee shop are training grounds for these trainees, and provide above-and-beyond service in terms of both food and hospitality. The prices are very reasonable for a place just by the SF waterfront. The desserts were great too. Please support the foundation and this restaurant.”

“Edit: I'm so proud of you my McDonald's. You've improved so much. I just ate at another one yesterday and they disappointed me...but not you. They screwed up a simple order... the tea wasn't sweet and there's no egg on my egg and sausage mcmuffin.”

If you can find parking , this is a great spot to check out. Even if you want some hot wings!!”

“Contrary to the quality of these photos, the food was incredible. There were too many flavors in the eggplant dish to describe exactly how it tasted. The hummus came with phenomenally warm slices of well oiled bread. The octopus was crispy and textured on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. The ambiance was spectacular, energetic but not overly loud, elegant (without the pompousness). To top it all off, the selection of wines was well paired with the food. Fantastic date spot for a laid, solid back meal. Plus, the staff couldn’t have been nicer and more attentive.”

“Cute place. Friendly and courteous staff. Amazing food. Setting: It's a pretty small space and seems to be often fully booked during dinner, even in the middle of the week. Dishes: 9 piece sashimi which included Aji (Horse mackerel), Kampachi (Longfin Yellowtail), Salmon, and Tuna. Quality ranks among the top sashimi I've had in the U.S. The wasabi was real. Oboro Tofu which they make from soybeans they grow themselves. Daily specials of Miso Black Cod and Walnut Miso Eggplant. The Cod was extremely tender and could be easily cut with chopsticks. The eggplant was also very delicious and had the feeling of eating a mini cake. Kyoto style mochi ice cream w/ red bean drizzle and a light crepe.”

“this is my favorite dessert house. i love it with all my heart i hope they stay open forever. it’s such a romantic tiny cute little place i always take my friends and people visiting out of town here. pillows - 10/10 - this is made from like a really thin crepe wrapped into a pillow shape usually filled with your choice of fruit, cream and optional ice cream. - durian with taro ice cream is my go-to it’s really good. mango or strawberry with or without ice cream is also good cha cha- 10/10 - red bean hot dessert with black sticky rice, coconut milk and sesame dumpling - excellent. a bit rich though i would share it black sesame soy milk - 10/10 - soooooooo good omg please get this kimchi fried rice - 8/10 beef brisket noodle soup - 9/10 - i’ve only ordered their savory foods maybe 2 or 3 times. it takes a while and it seems like they only ever have one employee ( god bless her ) this is definitely a place you should mainly go for to eat dessert. then the service time is pretty reasonable calamansi honey with coconut jelly/ grass jelly - 6/10 - really good but way too sweet for me. if you are into that i think you would like it milk tea - 9/10 sesame dumplings - 10/10 - standard. good with almond or sesame paste. tofu fa - 10/10 fire!!!! white sticky rice - 10/10 - i usually get both mango and taro or just taro. really good. huge portion”

“Food and service was amazing! My husband and I went out as a last dinner before our baby comes and had the most wonderful time! We got in a bit late but did not feel rushed at all and that is saying something considering we ended up leaving an hour after closing! We got the escargot and two of the crab dishes it was all fantastic!! Our server was so kind ,I'm sad we didn't catch her name. All in all I would highly recommend!”

“Their lamb platter had a variety of flavors which makes this place taste unique and authentic. It may seem pricey at first since it is $13 a plate (as of 03/2020) but it is a lot of food and it was enough to fill me up. The lamb had a lot of the lamb fat smell which does not smell very good to me but if you do like it, good for you. The seasoned onions and cucumber tomato salad are fantastic though. I just wish that the price was lower but given the location it might not be possible.”

“Love this place!!! Love the patio!! The food is always good and comes out quickly. But what's even better, is the service!! Our server is always Chris. He's by far one of the best servers at these kind of restaurants. He's so attentive and knows exactly what we want. He will say are we having the ____ again? Then will always talk us into getting dessert. He keeps our beverages filled, cleans the tables before we sit. And brings out everything (condiments) before we even have to ask. He's great!!”

“Conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco's sunset district. This gem of a place features some of the best Cantonese cuisine in the entire Bay Area. The cooked to order Dry Fried chicken wings are probably the best that you will find anywhere. If you like it a little spicy then take a look at the photo and order it that way. The right amount of sugar is added during preparation to seal in the juices. The salt and pepper Halibut is delicately battered finished in the fry making a most moist and delectable culinary delight. The Basil Lamb is perfectly spiced dazzling your taste buds. The bitter melon is clean and fresh. The Honey Walnut Prawns are the best I have ever experienced. Their house made won ton are most comforting in a light soup giving a calming fulfillment. Prices are reasonable and the service gives comfort with a high level of professionalism.”

“An amazing conveyer-belt sushi place which provides a rich variety of sushi, and delicious ramen. Take a pick from the sushi plates that arrive on the boats, or order from the menu to get anything specific that you want. I had both some sushi and the ramen, and the ramen was surprisingly good (I ordered it spicy). It’s a really cool place to hang out at if you go with friends, but if you come with friends and want a seat at the counter, make sure to come early. Highly recommend this place!”

“A super cute quick eat in noe valley! Came with a group of 6 on a Saturday afternoon with no line. Food: I got the vegan yam pie and it was actually really good and just the right portion size! It is not super filling but is really savory and a interesting combination of ingredients. Service: They heat up the pies right after you choose them so it’s cool to see the pies then come out steaming hot! Super appetizing. Ambiance: Really nice coffee shop vibes and there are nice photos hanging on the walls. I would want to work here for longer since the sun splashes on you. Overall a cheap eat and a cute ambiance! Lots of variety.”
