“Very nice park. I see why everyone goes there. Awesome place to watch sunrise/sunset. Everyone there very friendly. Squirrels also approach you. I recommend bringing some nuts or something for the Squirrels. I had 1 Squirrel following me and waiting for food but I didn't bring anything, so I felt bad because I came empty handed. Love the atmosphere of this park. 👌”

“Ok so we have gone to this place a couple of times we usually go here because of the volleyball courts, they have about 5 or 6 courts in this park with sand and the net you can adjust to go up or down, this place is very clean and like I mention the volleyball courts are amazing I'm originally from New York city and I was never able to find any park like this most parks out there are run down or dirty. Meanwhile here in Florida parks tend to be very clean and very spacious. There are also basketball courts and plenty of space to jig or walk. They also have a kid park with swings and other stuff. I love it and will definitely keep going here”

“Unless you have children and perhaps want to kayak, you probably would not need more than 3 hours at this park. A fairly small but very interactive state park. The spring itself is quite pretty and the river boat tour that you can take practically all day is really relaxing and informative. You absolutely have to attend one of the mermaid shows as it is very unique and adorable. The history of this place is really interesting and the way they have incorporated it in their shows and tours is one of a kind. I'd definitely recommend you take a visit!”

“George’s Lake Trail at Etoniah Creek State Forest in Putnam County, Florida offers a 1 mile there-and-back hike to a nice view of George’s Lake. There is also a service road leading to the same spot, so I chose to take that and use the trail on the way back to create a nice loop. The trail is narrow and well-maintained with little traffic. Both it and the service road are easy trails with almost no altitude gain, and a great opportunity if you have small children to get them outside to enjoy nature. A pier at the trail’s end offers both birding opportunities and an enjoyable view of speed and other boats making use of the lake. Fishing is welcome from the pier!”

“They have lot of cool animals there, including capybaras, raccoons, otters, lemurs, and more. The tour was really eye opening, as many of these animals are rescued from poor conditions on fur farms.”

“I have been tasked to find a campground that offers seasonal (around 3-4 months) space for relatives from up North. I visited Ridge Manor Campground and was very pleased with my interaction with the staff, the amenities/activities, and cleanliness of the public areas. Shower and bathroom facilities were very clean. I was late in the season, so there were currently no spaces available. Ridge Manor is the nicest campground I visited in my search. Thank you to the staff for taking the time to educate me on your property and providing great information! I will be seeing you in the future!”

“A great park for shorter walking trails in a quiet environment. The kayak rental is the best value for money we found in the area, and the staff were knowledgeable and safety conscious whilst letting you get on with your own adventure. Great place for families to explore.”

“This place is a true gem. The location is beautiful and extremely convenient to restaurants, shopping and boating. It is a really nice community with a lovely marina. The real treasure here though are the ladies in the office. Ruth, Margaret and Martha are seriously wonderful. They always work hard to make you happy and you can tell they love what they do and they care about you. Could not recommend this place more. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!”

“This is a hike through the woods. This is not a pretty boardwalk type of hike, expect bugs, sand, mud puddles. It's very natural. That said I love this place. If you want to see some Osprey and their nest you will find them on these trails. We saw more than I could count. There is also an eagle nest that seems to be an annual thing now. The trail starts near the only restrooms you will find. I suggest a backpack, water and bug spray. The trails are closed off near the Eagles nest. If you are interested in walking to the northern tip, you have to take one of the other routes. Once you get to the far end, there are tiny sandy spots, mangroves for some shade if you like and the sand can be a bit muddy feeling if you get in the water. There is a lagoon that is to the west and a sliver of land that makes this a more protected shoreline that the true "beach" side of Honeymoon Island. I do enjoy hiking these trails as you have seabirds, all types of mangroves, turtles, snakes and a mix of saltwater life and things you might see more inland. We spotted about 5 gopher turtles, one large diamondback rattlesnake looking to cross the trail, a great many ospreys, one eagle and three owls. The park is such that if you want to hike and then go to the beach after you can change in the very nice bathhouses / restrooms. You can take a trail that leads to the northern end of the beaches within minutes. Picnic tables are plentiful near the parking area ( no tables or restrooms on the trails) so a lunch for after your hike and before the beach can make for a very full day. I have reviewed the beach before so I will leave you to look at that review if you care to. We saw several birdwatchers while on the trail who were happy to point out some of the wildlife.”

“This was a great outing. The Safari wagon takes you up close and personal to giraffes and camels. Got some great photographs feeding the giraffes. Their pet camel is a big puppy dog who wants to be petted on the nose. Highly recommend the vehicle tour. $119 per person.”

“Circle B is my new happy place. Despite being only feet away at times from large alligators (whether you see them or not), the trail by the lake is incredibly peaceful. This is a great spot to get some steps in on the trails, spot and photograph wildlife in their natural habitat, or just take a break from your hectic life to reflect and appreciate nature. Yes, there are a ton of alligators sometimes on the trail itself, but as long as you give them the respect they deserve they won’t bother you. There are plenty along the “alligator alley” trail but if you keep going on the marsh rabbit run trail you can see many more LARGE gators sunning themselves on the beach just on the other side of the canal. The whole park is full of different types of birds but I highly recommend the boardwalk with a gazebo on the lake that affords an excellent opportunity to see large ospreys and eagles grabbing a meal. I gave the trail 5 stars but keep the following in mind: - There are no water stations along the trail so bring a full bottle before you start your hike. - parking can get crowded at the entrance. Even when the lot is full however the trails themselves never seem crowded. - certain trails can be closed due to a variety of reasons. This is especially true during alligator mating and hatching seasons (typically in the spring and summer) when alligators are known to be aggressive (as I said outside of these periods they’re incredibly chill as long as they’re not provoked). Overall this place is truly a hidden gem and one of the best places in the state to see Florida in all its natural beauty.”

“Informative volunteer run historical park. This cute little park has many buildings and artifacts that date back to the 1800s that both were built on the property and buildings that were transferred to the property. The buildings are open on certain days for viewing (check the website) the park has nice paths and a boardwalk overlooking the river as well as the peir that you can walk out on. Beautiful place for pictures.”

“This park is very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed everywhere but the visitor center. It is also part of the Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve, so you can do the nature trail for that as well. The visitor center had passport stamps for both parks. There is about a 10 minute walk to get to the fort. It is mostly flat. The fort itself was very small but in great shape. There were some docks to overlook the water on the walk to it.”

“What a lovely place to visit…and it’s free. This is a great place to visit for all ages. There are many acres of beautiful trees and flowers and even some wildlife to admire and photograph. The paths are easy to navigate and meander throughout the park. Beauty is everywhere. The is a heritage village beside the park that does require an admission charge but it was closed on the day we visited. A great place for a walk or to immerse yourself in beauty.”
