Big Hill House

Address: 8920 Battlefield Memorial Hwy, Berea, KY 40403, USA

Lodging

“Interesting house with room for about 6- 8 pretty comfortably. Modern place with a classic look. Equipped kitchen, comfy beds. The neighbors are closer than I expected and "town" / shopping is about 15 minutes away, so it's not too different being at home in some respects. The internet here is good, you'll want to bring a firestick or something to stream stuff or use their DVD player. The roosters next door started up about 330am and apparently never stop, and with the dogs barking on and off that may be trouble if you expect quiet or need silence to sleep, but if you're used to city noises and volume levels its no big deal. If you're not from KY it can be kind of annoying trying to find adult beverages, but I guess you get used to it.”

“Our stay was wonderful! From the moment we walked in it was exceptionally clean and smelled so good and our room was the same. Beds and pillows were super comfy! Kelsey was at the front desk and she was so sweet and anything we needed she was more than happy to get. Monica, the GM, is also so sweet and kind and you can tell she takes great pride in her hotel! The pool was warm and clean and breakfast was great. 10/10 for sure and we will definitely be back!”

“I came from New Mexico in March 12th, to be exact , My husband is from here in Kentucky . First praise is about the landscape, the acres, and acres of " trees." We had several issues settling in here at the LA MHP, but the crew here came to the rescue to the best of their ability every time . We are full-time RV living. Our setup is a bit different from mobile homes. And our lease remains month to month here . Because RVs tend to do short stays . There are zero amenities here for RV living. No laundry, no showers, and not all utilities are included in our space rent . Here, we are expected to keep up the lawn care religiously. So we had extra in acquiring equipment we have no storage for . A storage shed will be forth coming for this when we can afford it. The other residents either never read the rules here about loud music and leash for loose dogs. A few domestic disturbances .... and rude neighbors happen. No one have I yet to see picking up after their dogs... it becomes a problem when mowing the lawn! And who can you complain to? I opted to throw down moth balls it helped in New Mexico.... but here the rain made the effort mute. Every area has its pros and cons . We all got to live somewhere . We are blessed to be here all the same . Kentucky is beautiful. Ty”

The Neal House

Address: 7300 W Hwy 42, Goshen, KY 40026, USA

Lodging

“My husband and I were the first couple to get married at The Neal House! The owners were fabulous to work with and VERY accommodating. I am in the Tourism industry and could have chosen many event spaces to get married, but working with the owners sealed the deal for me! We got married on the front porch, had our reception on the back patio and under the trees in the gorgeous backyard. It was absolutely perfect and just what we wanted! The long driveway as my bride entrance was a bonus (see photos). It's a gorgeous drive through horse country, too!! Another reason we chose The Neal House was because our out-of-town guests could spend the night rather than stay at a hotel. Our guests still talk about the comfortable beds, huge bedrooms and baths (all bedrooms are suites!), and how much they loved all the space to spread out. We had 19 people spend the night, including us in the master suite on the first floor. Our guests loved that we had comfortable patio furniture from the sunroom setup under the trees and white lights in the trees, candles on the tables, and tiki torches for just the right amount of ambiance for a July evening wedding. For some reason, the men decided to celebrate with a cigar (not cigar smokers!) in front of the sunroom and turned out to be one of our favorite groomsmen photos. We also set up the cake in the sunroom and everyone came gathered around. The caterers loved the huge kitchen for prep and the easy access to the patio for the buffet setup. Our musicians loved playing under the trees in the front and backyard. We were there for 3 days and not one single complaint! A bride can't ask for more than that! I have referred several brides to The Neal House and they have loved it!”

Cincinnati South Campground

Address: 3315 Dixie Hwy, Crittenden, KY 41030, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“I feel I have to give this place a 5 Star to correct others giving this place an unfair 1 Star. This is a great little campground. I love the fact it is a true campground not a place full of people living here year round. The grounds are kept very nice and tidy. The pond is a nice place to go for a walk with the dogs and cast a fishing rod. There is a small dated playground but at least it is somewhere for the kids to play. The desk person was extremely nice as was the person who escorted us to the campsite. The sites are fairly level and rain drainage is great considering it has been raining for days there are no puddles to deal with. The laundry room was clean and had 5 washers and very fast drying vintage dryers. The bathhouse was extremely clean and in good working order. The key elements to a campground were met: clean, safe, level, good power, good water pressure, clean laundry room, clean bathhouse and a VERY reasonable price for water/electric. Now the downside is the train. It is about 50 yards from our site (we were 1 of the closest sites). However, we use the fan all night and keep the windows closed, so it drowns out the noise. But if you are a light sleeper or in a pop up/canvas sided camper you may have issues. The highway is close as well so you do hear the highway but only when outside walking around. For us that is a non issue. It is easy on and off the highway and gas stations nearby which makes it a great stop over place for a few days to visit the area and the Ark. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.”

The options they have for buying a home, the process for this, the homes they offer, are all out of this world. The mobile home park I’m in is very clean and quiet! The park is Big and plenty of driving room. I was very lucky to get a home right next to some goats right outside my window. Thank you so much ladies! I will recommend you to everyone. “Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This site will compare countless booking web sites and normally will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is the best rated in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be disappointed. A great place for adding culture and history to any vacation in the area. Beautiful grounds to explore, delicious food to enjoy and tours that are all worth while. The staff is knowledgeable and are all required to do their own research on the shakers using journals kept by the shakers themselves. Super cool!”
