“Cute little park in a quiet neighborhood. The equipment is all in nice repair, it has a picnic table, and an open grassy field that is mowed regularly. It's not top of the line playground equipment, but it does the trick and is entertaining for little kids. Definitely worth checking out if you have little ones.”

“Had a great time here for Oktoberfest 2018. The community of people were so polite, extremely family friendy environment, the food was delish, authenic music was fun, and the wonderful steins of beer were refreshing. The highlight of the afternoon was the docshound races. Can wait to return next year!”

“Good disc golf store with reasonable prices just off the parking lot. LOTS of discs to choose from from multiple manufacturers. Disc golf course itself was very nice. Well kept with astroturf tee pads. Clear signage at each pad so it's clear where you're supposed to be throwing to. Good mix of shot shapes & challenges throughout the course.”

“Spacious lot for parking. Good place to go south on the IAT Monches Segment or north on the IAT Loew Lake Segment. I hiked north this time and was in awe of its beauty and diversity. The trail winds through a variety of ecosystems. I saw several deer, or perhaps the same deer four times. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow. There are plenty of spaces with benches to stop and take in the scenery. I would highly recommend starting this trail early so you have more time to slow down or stop and enjoy your surroundings.”

“For being considerably smaller than nearby parks, Westwynde still has a lot to offer all ages, from toddlers to adults. The playground equipment has a great variety and offers learning opportunities for letters, numbers and shapes. There’s also full court basketball and a sand volleyball pit in addition to a smaller size shelter at the center of it all.”

“Beautiful park close to the highway, with two small picnic areas and close to the beautiful Wisconsin River. Beautiful vistas if you walk past the park. There are chairs that people have put down to admire the view. No garbage bins along the way. Might be a good idea to put one or two down the street.”

“Great park for events and BBQ. Plenty of green space, a large playground, and a nice walking path. Great for kids to run and play.”

“This is one of those hidden gems in our community. A beautiful quiet park along the river. There is no playground equipment and it is far away from any real neighborhood so there are no kids running and screaming. (Not that kids are bad at all. Sometimes you just need some place quiet.) There is also a boat dock here that is not overly used. (There is a required fee to use the dock - payable on site) There are outhouse style bathrooms that I have not used so I am not sure on if there is running water or not. I also just realized that there some hiking trails but not sure how long they actually are.”

“New Fane trail has 4 different routes for hiking. Paths are wide, and if you do the purple trail, you get some good size hills. Did see a lot of wind damage, but signs that it is being cleaned up. Trails seemed well marked.”

“Very expansive park with plenty of options for activities. The tennis courts could use some maintenance, to be sure, but otherwise the playground equipment is in great shape, there’s a decent baseball diamond, and a large flat field perfect for frisbee, soccer, football, etc. The shelter is maintained really well. I don’t understand the large scale lighting for the field. With no bleachers, no painted turf, or anything to suggest there organized sports being played here at night, I would be interested to know the back story of this park.”

“There's lovely playground equipment, swings, a sandbox, merry go round, picnic tables, and a basketball court. It's a nice park with a lot going for it, but there's a bit of issues that make locals avoid it for other parks around the lake. To start with the basketball hoops are weird heights, and fling your ball away. You may get worse at basketball if you play here. Second, it's next to a flood plain / forest so a lot of mosquitoes. Make sure to bring or wear some bug spray. Sometimes it's not that bad with them. And lastly, it's a flood plain. This road specifically will flood if it rains for too many days. So consider the park closed on those rare days. lol”

“The Christmas tree forest on Lake Monona is a wonderful destination. Walking across the ice a little tricky, with slushy spots, but the views were glorious! This is a Madison experience sine qua non.”

“I go practice fishing whenever I can. Really short distance from just about anywhere in Port Washington. Multiple entrance, and when the river is low, the rocky outlines on the bank can make swimming holes. But do make sure you stick to the trail, for once you stray, you may find yourself on private property. Riddled with deer trails, so make sure you distinguish what is, and isn't a walking trail. Trout is stocked at the mouth annually. Would come again and again, for as long as possible.”
