Orchard Hills Park

Address: 11340 Caves Rd, Chesterland, OH 44026, USA

Park

“Another beautiful metro park (albeit it in Geauga County). We didn't find site/trails info but someone there told us about the nearby trail head. We took the shortest trail & observed several connections or forks in the trail to more extensive trailing. The largest shelter had multiple picnic tables under cover + we spotted a few other tables on our walk - which they've provided many benches along the way (some without shade) for respite or to enjoy nature. There's a nice looking children's playground there, also. I should have taken more pics...”

Jeffrey Park

Hueston Woods State Park

Address: 6301 Park Office Rd, College Corner, OH 45003, USA

Park

“We went camping during Memorial Day weekend. We had an absolutely wonderful time! We camped at the equine campground, it was a delight to be surrounded by horses. We went to the nature center and saw all the cool animals they’re rehabilitating. Then we went to the lodge, got some coffee, then watched the animal encounter where we learned about some of their education animals! The kids had a wonderful time! After that we went to the beach. We had fun at the beach as well, but they hadn’t cleaned up the sticks and debris off the beach yet so that was a bit bothersome. We had assumed they would’ve had that cleaned up with it being Memorial Day weekend. But it didn’t stop us from having a good time in the sun and sand! I’m sure we’ll be back!”

Scenic River Retreat

Address: 10900 Mayfield Rd, Chardon, OH 44024, USA

“Scenic River is a great peaceful place. But, I think you should stock it with more bass and trout. I’ve caught bass and sunfish but not enough. All in all a great spot.”

Cherokee Park Co

Campground Park Lodging

“I believe this has to be my favorite park during our three years of travel! Everybody is friendly, lots of trees, activities and children laughter! After 9 PM it’s so quiet you can hear the bullfrogs. If it had a pool it would be the perfect park. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and natural landscaping. Very clean bathrooms with large shower stalls. Two washers and dryers. They owners are friendly and laid back!”

Eisenhower Park

Address: 619 W South Boundary St, Perrysburg, OH 43551, USA

Caesar Creek State Park Marina

Address: Waynesville, OH 45068, USA

Park

“I absolutely love hanging out here. I/we walk the beach then head to the marina to watch the families and friends head out for a day of boating fun. My dog Gracie comes too and we ALWAYS get a single dip of premium ice cream. The amount in the pic is nearly 3 dips anywhere else and like I said is premium ice cream at $2.50 It may not be the ocean but it's pretty good for Dayton Ohio, plus it has an awesome breeze, shaded or in the sun tables.”

Staff was very friendly; always waving and smiling. Our site was pretty level and big enough for our class A and tow vehicle. We'd stay here again.”

Metzger Preserve

Address: Ballard Park, 9 Ballard Ave, Williamsport, OH 43164, USA

Park

“Nice but not that big of a preserve that's close by.The entrance and parking area is the same entrance that you use for Ballard Park. There is plenty of parking, portable restrooms and Ballard Park is basically connected to Metzger Preserve. The trails are mowed grass going through fields but the trail that goes alongside Deer Creek is interesting. In the creek are things called concretions or as the canoe/kayak rental business on the other side of the creek calls them,Indian Rocks.”

The trails were mostly paved, some of the smaller ones were not but were still clearly visible. Mostly pretty flat so a decent easy walk.”

Ohio to Erie Trail

Address: Corwin, S Maple St, Waynesville, OH 45068, USA

“Fantastic place to ride! I rode the Little Miami part of the trail between Corwin and Xenia. It’s straight and flat, scenic and gorgeous, an all around great ride. Parking in Corwin was safe and well marked. There is even a little snack shop there for when you get back to your car. Definitely going back. I want to ride between Xenia and Yellow Springs next.”

“this is my first time to this park. Very much enjoyed it. We walked all three trails at this park. Saw a lot of fish activity, couple of deer, water fowl, and lots of birds. The oval trail that loops around the body of water that is cornered between interstate 71 and the outlet malls has a very steep slope on the trail that borders along the edge of the outlet property, be careful walking along this part of the trail.”

Couple of pavillions, permanent cornhole boards, basketball court, and playground. It's a shame the fire ring has been gone for many years. Was great to stay up late and listen to the old timers.”
