T. M. Berry International Friendship Park

Address: 1135 Riverside Dr, Cincinnati, OH 45202, USA

Park

“My husband and I were going to picnic at a park down the street from here, but thanks to a swarm of sports fans attending Bengals Training Camp, we couldn't go to that park and had to find another. The International Friendship Park was a few minutes away, and it was our first visit. Part of the parking lot is cut off, but there was enough parking, and that's considering that it was a Saturday afternoon and there were multiple joggers, dog walkers, cyclists, and a wedding party taking photos. Other than crisscrossing pathways, there are benches, trash cans, and a few odd structures to see. We picnicked close to the Castle of Air, which is the mirrored structure in the photos attached to this review. The park seems to be themed around various parts of the world, but it wasn't entirely clear why or what was unique about each section. I should mention that the far left (if you're facing the river) part of the park seems unfinished. It's mostly unwieldy grass surrounding a worn pathway, and upon walking through it to the other side, we discovered a shaded area with a building that was reserved for some event. So the park does feel unfinished and a little exclusionary. Overall, this was a decent park that provided my husband some opportunities for photography, but its theming isn't clear and it does seem to be grasping to find its own identity. Still, not a bad way to spend an hour or two if you love parks with paved places to walk or play.”

The Holden Arboretum

Address: 9550 Sperry Rd, Kirtland, OH 44094, USA

Park

“Awesome place to get out and explore, hold an event, or just visit any season! It's awesome to walk the gardens in the different seasons, the restrooms are clean, and safe feeling. It is a huge place so plan some time, or multiple visits and you may want to bring some lunch! They have vending machines with several options, and a small gift shop. There is plenty of room for bringing a picnic lunch, and saw at least one charcoal grill by a shelter. The gardens are beautiful, and filled with surprises from the wildlife, to all the trees, and flowers! Plenty of benches to take a rest most shaded, some picture perfect spots to rest and take it all in also. Some of the trails are a little warm in the sun, but also a good choice of shaded trails as well. They are pet friendly but no pets on any structures. We did not try the walk or tower this time but minimal crowds there this spring! The paths are easily walkable, and seemed stroller/wheelchair friendly in most places...obviously excluding the wooded trails, etc. I highly recommend coming to see the Holden Arboretum!”

Orange Bridge Park

Address: 6943-7077 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43035, USA

Park

“The bridge is over Rte 23, making for a noisier walk. There are 6 picnic tables, 3 shaded. Only a couple of parking spots, with one being for handicap parking. On both sides of the bridge is a mix of residential and commercial areas. Since it is next to busy Rte 23, and there isn't much to keep kids entertained, I don't recommend it for them. The park makes the most sense for people visiting who live and work within walking distance of it.”

Riverside Park

Address: 3969 Round Bottom Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45244, USA

Park

“Very nice, peaceful park. The only downside was the smaller play area but it is still a very nice park with decent shade. There is even a shaded walking path around the diamonds. Plenty of cute lizards too! It looks like the park used to have a water feature where the rocks are near the sand but it is all dry now.”

Dudley Woods Metro Park

Address: 5591 Hankins Rd, Liberty Township, OH 45044, USA

“Love this low key spot for hot summer days! It's not your traditional park. It's a very hike type wooded trail but short. The paths can get a bit muddy after rain because of this though. The creek is great!”

Here you can calmly fish a huge lake surrounded by ducks which can NOT be fed, on the other hand a park for children. This place has an exercise area, mussels to enjoy in this heat, a basketball and tennis court, it also has a path through which your child can enjoy a story all the way, but you can take your pet so that enjoy this unforgettable park. You will not regret it, you sincerely enjoy yourself and receive an exquisite air.”

“My family got a lot here late season 2020. It was exactly what we needed since the pandemic was slowing life down. We were welcomed immediately by everyone. The people are friendly, the owner Dave is nice, and we love chatting it up with the Manager Lynn. I can't imagine summers without this place now! Wish we would've found it years ago. The pool is nice in the summer and friends enjoy the horseshoe and corn hole tournaments. Always fun things going on somewhere in the resort. We are lucky to have met forever friends and people who we now consider family . I highly recommend this place”

The boardwalk through the marsh at the nature center is really cool. Lake Erie is close by and there is a nice bike path that goes along the lake for a ways.”

Clearcreek Park

“Popular ball fields with paved walking paths around the fields. Slightly hilly with minor changes in elevation. Paths are mostly in the open and take you around trees. Good maps on posts show you walking paths and distances.”

Walsh Park

Address: 610 Morrison St, Fremont, OH 43420, USA

“The The park is different from most parks because of the frisbee golf course and closeness to nature. The water fountain is beautiful. They also have a hiking trail.”

Cowling Park

Address: 175 N Main St, London, OH 43140, USA

Park

“I'm always looking for playgrounds that accommodate my grandson who is under 2. He could have spent a whole morning on the train. This park has something for all ages and abilities. Adults and and teens can enjoy the obstacle course, while folks with dogs can walk the trails. I loved the variety of trees and thought a local scout troop could consider identifying and creating label signs for them as a service project or award project. If you are visiting on a morning, consider bringing a towel to wipe the dew off some of the seats.”

Carol H Sweet Nature Center

Address: 5185 Corduroy Rd, Mentor, OH 44060, USA

Park

“Good resource to check out what's going on in the Headlands Marsh. With trails and paths to follow, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature and get a little exercise- hiking or walking, running, exploring with little ones. Great for photographers and birding too. SO. MANY. BIRDS! You will likely see a passer-by or two on the paths (local runners, young families). Definitely a great launch pad for a day outdoors, or to learn something at one of the educational events! Staff is informative--they are not always the center. Warmer, humid weather brings out the bugs and allergens In Force, so plan accordingly. You don't have to go to the nature center to enjoy the different trails around the headlands- look around on Google maps. The Carol H Sweet Nature Center is The Place for all things "nature-related" in the headlands marsh. Happy trails!”
