“On May 14, 2026, a local near Michigan Central Station recommended an ice cream spot to me. Craving something sweet, my friends and I made our way over, only to arrive right at closing time. As we approached the entrance, co-owner Ruth kindly gestured that they were closed—but then opened the door just to hear us out. We explained that we had come based on a local’s recommendation and fully understood that we’d have to return another time. Moved by our story, Ruth invited us inside to at least say hello to her husband Tom, the other co-owner. We stepped in, just to show appreciation and let them know we’d respect their hours and be back. To our surprise, Ruth and Tom generously offered each of us a scoop of ice cream—letting us choose our flavors—and welcomed us with warm, genuine conversation. We talked about Detroit, the auto industry, Michigan Central Station, and more. It wasn’t just the dessert that made the visit special, but the hospitality and human connection they shared. Their kindness and the overall experience were truly remarkable. Ruth and Tom embody what it means to go above and beyond for their customers. I look forward to bringing others back to enjoy not only the delicious ice cream but also the cozy, inviting atmosphere they’ve created. The shop is family-friendly, with plenty of nearby parking, a clean and bright interior filled with natural light, and a welcoming space perfect for relaxing, meeting neighbors, or playing games together. “The nachos here are more than enough to share (and still take home some leftovers). They are probably some of the best nachos I've ever had, so definitely 5 stars for those. On Tuesday night, tacos are $2 each (you have to get 3, they all have to be the same, and there is a limited selection of meats to choose from), so it's a good way to try something new or a new combination. The combo I chose was pretty good (chicken, pineapple salsa, and avocado cream), but wouldn't be my choice for next time. There are enough combinations to keep coming back. I highly recommend the margaritas, especially the lavender violet and the spicy blood orange. They are fabulous in flavor and fairly priced. They currently charge some form of convenience fee of $2 per check, but we were told they are working on updating the pricing on their menu to remove that extra unadvertised surprise fee on the check... The restaurant is chilly in February. Bring a sweater. And wear socks. It was not extremely busy when we were there, so the noise level was surprising. While we couldn't hear other conversations, we did have to talk louder to hear one another. Also not something that would keep me from returning, but just something worth noting. Overall, we love supporting small, locally owned businesses, and we certainly intend to return... especially for some more of those nachos.”

“10/13/2025 stopped here for some lunch. When I arrived there was already a line out the door so I knew the food must be good. I ordered the Mahi grilled, peel and eat shrimp, the Savannah crab soup, and keylime pie dessert. I also ordered a coke to drink. I sat outside which was nice but there wasn't enough umbrellas so it got a bit warm. Fortunately I had a hat with me. Watch your food there's two birds that will get it. The food was fantastic! Reservations are strongly recommended, especially since this is a high-traffic area with limited parking. There’s only paid parking available, and although there is some street parking, it fills up quickly—plan ahead. The restaurant itself is visually stunning and full of energy, offering a variety of seating options: – High tops – Bar seating (including a dedicated wine bar and a chef’s bar where you can watch the wood-fired pizzas being made) – Regular dining tables – An outdoor patio – Plus both upstairs and downstairs seating with second-story views if you’re lucky enough to sit by a window The space has an industrial-chic design, which makes for great ambiance, but it’s also very loud—not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet dinner. Some of the chairs were also uncomfortable (mine had no padding and was quite worn down), but our server kindly brought a cushion, which made a big difference. Service was excellent throughout.
